  1. Accusing someone of being a racist is like asking them when they stopped beating their wife. To protest innocence is to protest too much, for the smoke of outrage is seen to confirm the fire of prejudice within. When guilt in thought is presumed, imaginary networks of malignancy and conspiracy are assumed too. The evidence need only establish whether, like the witches of old, the accused is to be burnt or drowned.

Necessities or not, the point is ownership of these items is not a reasonable indicator of how well one is doing in life. It's a red herring.

Kind of hard to suggest a solution in an update box. :-P. I'd look into increasing taxation on the super rich, for one, but I do think that unless you are flat out POOR you have a responsibility to help support this society. A little tax on millions of people often produces more money than a big tax on a tiny number.

We've tried taking money away from the productive and giving it to the non-productive. Maybe we need to spend money on making those non-productive more productive through skills and education training.

  3. Trudeau decides to tweet an invite for all refugees to come to Canada, implicitly taunting Trump. Maybe he should have asked Angela Merkel about how smart that was.

My questionable sources ... " A recent report by the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) estimates that each refugee claimant who has their application rejected by the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB), due either to lack of evidence of persecution in their home country or failing to show up to refugee hearings, costs the Canadian government over $50,000."

Guys don't like this because the joke is funny (it's too stale to be funny). They just like it because being politically incorrect (to a socially acceptable degree) lets them approximate some semblance of swagger.

  6. Government House Leader: a position of great importance and responsibility invariably given to a veteran of decades of House battles with an insiders's encyclopedic knowledge of House rules. Except in Justin Trudeau's government, of course. Where skin colour and breasts are more important.

The problem progressives have with hiring and promotion based on merit is most of them would never be hired or promoted under such a system.

Funny. Here I am a progressive, and I outperformed dozens of other candidates for my current job. Perhaps the hiring team didn't know I was progressive, and therefore unqualified?

Quiet day today in the capitol? If that's all, that was nothing. Try visualizing the situation had Trump won, and how many on the left would cheer on the riots and burning and looting. Not even close.

Yes, but Biden will never incite a riot, and no one can deny that Trump incited that riot.

Not without getting laughed at anyway.

  9. Trump has gone on 188 golfing trips since becoming president, costing taxpayers about $100 million dollars in transportation and security. He goes to his own courses, and makes the government pay full rates for all his staffers and security.

This is no doubt a hate-motivated crime.   But to say that it's only happening to Muslms - by the way all these endless interviews and political posturing goes -  is what to me, is a bigger problem here, too.

Like showing that black guy who singled out WHITE supremacy, in that statement he made on tv.  The guy who did the killing, isn't known to be in any groups.  We don't know why he hates Muslims.  It doesn't automatically mean a white person is a white supremacists when he goes killing visible minorities.

Racism, is a fact of life.

Racist-motivated crimes (directed to all - and that includes white people) must be addressed.

If we want Canada to become a real non-racist nation, then don't go marginalizing and singling out any particular racial groups - and that includes WHITE people!

Otherwise, this is all just lip service.   We're just another Hutus vs Tutsis - payback is always a btich.
