Speaking of short-sighted, look who's acting like the crisis has been averted because the market fluctuated upwards for one day...

Conservative flyers 'clearly defamatory,' judge rules

Sue the Liberals for lying while Harper is the biggest bald face liar of them all!?!?!?! Hypocracy. -
You know, I was going to spare myself doing the rest and just do what everyone else is doing, but now I think I shall continue...

He would be if he could be. Give him a majority, and you'll finally see what his hidden agenda is all about.

Define "anti-Israel" and explain to me how taking a particular stand on Israel's social and foreign policy constitutes "anti-semitism". Is Israel a state or a race?

The polls don't show it, but many people are still undecided; so it's a scare tactic. The Bloc will probably do well anyway, but why not say such things on the last day just to be sure. The Conservatives have no hope in Quebec; Harper really fumbled here, and this is going to plague him for the rest of his political career...

Expert says Cadman tape not altered: court record
kengs333 replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Is the issue not over whether the first part was altered or not? And it's been determined it wasn't. I guess you've never taped an interview before. Rewinding and taping over things is done regularly. But the issue is if the first part was altered, and it was not. -

Oh, so now you're all concerned about having a campaign that focuses on the issues when Harper is under the microscope... Guess you missed all those Con attack ads, Harper's habitual bald face lying... -

So is this basically a slur of all French-speakers in this country? Seems like it to me. -
Conservative flyers 'clearly defamatory,' judge rules
kengs333 replied to JaysFan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I believe that would fall under the category of "undemocratic". Not only would he be muzzling his own MPs, this would constitute an attempt to muzzle the opposition as well. It's shocking that you would even suggest that he do so. Again, it's a perfect example of how some of you are borderline fascists. -

Most of these can't be considered "insults," though. -
Yeah, but prominent members of the Jewish community made a public shift to the Conservatives because of his pro-Israel stance during the war they lost awhile back. So this all shouldn't come as a surprise.

Actually, let's hope that Harper wins. It takes about four years for a depression to really set in, and by that time we will be having another election. So for the next four years we can watch the Conservatives pathetically try to manage the economy and drive us into a deficit and balloon the debt out of all proportion. Then we true Canadians can sweep their free market, republican asses out on the street and take back Canada for good!

Best Conservative Endorsement I have read so far
kengs333 replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Evidently none of these editorial writers has ever studied history: it is always Conservative governments that cause problems for Canada: Harper has taken us to the brink of a deficit. Mulroney caused Canada's debt to skyrocket, created GST. Diefenbaker nearly destroyed Canadian-American Relations. R. B. Bennett completely failed at dealing with the Great Depression. Robert Borden introduced income tax So haven't we had enough of Harper and the Conservatives? Canada needs to be governed by a truly national and progressive party, especially in this time of crisis. I should also add, that none of these people really seem to understand the gravity of the problem with the environment. -

The fact is that he seems to be basing his beliefs on uncertain facts, which isn't very prudent if he wants to file a lawsuit of the nature that he has. However you look at it, it doesn't look good when your own expert determines that the tape is not altered contrary to what you believe. Oh, and then to try and delay it so that his findings won't be revealed during an election that you called (by breaking your own law!!!!) is really laughable, too... -

So because I don't watch everything you do, I'm not following the election?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH I cought what you said before you editted it!!!!!! Something about somebody else using my name???? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA You still can't figure out that another member posted the question, I cut and pasted it so you could reread it and answer it properly!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
-
You see, you're just digging yourself in deeper. Please feel free to stop making a fool of yourself. First, I didn't initially ask this question; another member posed it, and you answered it incorrectly. I simply cut and pasted it and asked you to answer it properly. Secondly, I believe that the question was intentionally structured as it was to see whether you would recognize the illogic. You didn't, yet you still gave an answer based on what you thought it meant. Yeah, this is asked a couple days before an election, so Dion asked for clarification whether this meant that he had been elected in 2006, if it was just hypothetical, or of it was suggesting if he were elected on Oct. 14. I saw the clip, the interviewer was being a little vague. And it wouldn't come as a surprise, since the media is trying to get Harper re-elected.

McHale running as an Independent in election
kengs333 replied to Ontario Loyalist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
It doesn't matter if it is "traditional" or not. The land was granted to Six Nations, and they subsequently sold parts of it off. They mismanaged their affairs, did not keep proper records, and Canada cannot be faulted for that now, over 150 years later. Moreover, if you want to get into whether the land was "traditional," that would require assessing whether the Crown legally purchased the land from the Ojibway, and whether the Iroquois owe survivors of the Huron, Petun, and Neutrals who were exterminated or driven from their land. Now, I'll ask the question again, and please be so kind to politely respond. If Canada passed a law that called for the deportation of the people of Six Nations to Cuba, would the law be valid, and would Canada have the duty to carry out that law? -
And I'm inclined you're in no position to judge... Whatever the case, Harper has totally ruined any chance of having any credibility in Quebec. Toooo bad.
-
Ah, you see... you can't admit that you made a mistake. The question was illogical, and, moreover, I'm not the one who initially asked it. So what you're saying is that you would answer a question that you didn't properly understand based on what you think was meant rather than trying to get clarification so that you could answer it properly... You see, I wanted to keep this private so you wouldn't look like a fool in public... but suit yourself...

Harper predicting a Minority government.
kengs333 replied to independent's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The Cons have increased support in Toronto, Eastern Ontario, and the North. Eastern Ontario is already largely Conservative, so no gains there. In Toronto and the North, it will likely not result in a breakthrough. Southwestern Ontario seems to be shifting to the NDP, Southcentral is static. Also a factor is how or if the Green vote will "shift"... Theyre polling around 12% in some districts, more than twice what they got in 2006. If many of these people fo to the Liberals... -
Let's see some proof.
