Canada Adds 107,000 Jobs in September
kengs333 replied to Jobu's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Why would I "adjust" my first example? The wage increase isn't retroactive. So if I'm on the "Conservative Economics team," then I guess that would make you a member of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada? -

Doesn't anyone care Dion has dual nationality?
kengs333 replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So what's he going to do, sell us out to the French? Are we going to become part of a new French Empire? Harper is not a dual citizen, and he's more likely to sell us out to the Americans. So we have a dual citizen who is more pro-Canadian than a non-dual citizen. -
Recession? Depression? GLOBAL WIPEOUT?

End of Capitalism? Noooo.... Humans are greedy, and so long as we have a social system that allows for the acceptability of greediness, Capitalism will always find a way to work. -
Will Harper once again appoint Fortier to the Senate?
kengs333 replied to normanchateau's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Only PMs can make appointments... -
*yawn* whatever... Post-war Germany saw several paramilitary groups like Stahlhelm organize to counter left-wing gangs and political organizations. They eventually were integrated into the NSDAP and became part of the SA. Are you still confused by the fact that a right-wing political movement had "Socialist" in its name?

Well, if that's how people interpret it, then he's not gonna win Brant or Haldimand-Norfolk... Too bad for Diane...

Downward trend suggests that we're near or already there.

So what does he have to gain by convincing others to rally and drive the market up temporarily until he and others decide to sell and drive it down again? Anybody who follows his advice is just going to get burned.
-
I seem to know more than most people here.
-
It's not "idiots" selling, it's people and companies who NEED the money because they can't get loans.
-
I think I'll pass on your Harperesque advice. Stocks are cheap because everybody is selling them to raise money that they can't get through loans anymore. Until that changes, the prices are going to continue to drop, and if we do slide into a recession/depression, many of these companies are going to cease to exist anyway. Hardly what I would call sound investments.

Apparently, I'm the one who was watching him, not you, and I'll repeat what the situation was. He was in Brantford, and he was asked by a journalist from the Brantford Expositor his opinions on the landclaim issue in Brantford; there are specific developments in Brantford that are being delayed and this is costing millions of dollars. He replied that, because he researches early hockey, he knows that back a hundred years ago that land claims issues were being discussed in the newspapers. He didn't say in Brantford specifically, nor did he say in the Brantford Expositor, but the question was in regards to Brantford, and the only newspaper in Brantford at the time was the Brantford Expositor.

McHale running as an Independent in election
kengs333 replied to Ontario Loyalist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Hey were you in Brantford today--was that you on the news for a few seconds? -
People who play the capitalist game and make money off of the hard work of others, destroy the environment, and live for greed, and then turn around and give large donations to make themselves look good, don't have my respect.
-
He was in Brantford and was asked about the local development that had been halted because of SN protests. Yeah, going through it does cut it. It's something I've done, and you haven't. I know what I'm talking about, you don't.

But the Supreme Court of Canada is a Canadian court of law, and apparently Indians don't feel that they are bound by Canadian (and Ontario) law when they are arrested for breaking the law. So why do laws that benefit Six Nations have to be respected, while at the same time they don't respect the law or feel themselves bound by it? -
I've gone through the old Brant Expositor enough to know that very little mention is made of Six Nations; usually it's only when a drunk is picked up and sent packing... Land claims would not have been an issue 100 years ago because the land they sold was considered legally disposed of and therefore there was no issue. All of what we see going on in Caledonia started only a few years ago; since they figured out that they can get away with it, it has now spread to Brantford.

Dionmania? You're quoting a Sun newspaper. I wouldn't even stoop to using a Sun newspaper for toilet paper, let alone deriving informed political opinion.

What relevance does that have? The guy's a sick, greedy bastard...

Liberals Admit Green Shift Will Not Reduce Emissions
kengs333 replied to Jobu's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Reread my post. Really? So since everyone is cancelling everbody else out, that would mean that nobody really knows what's going on... *starts running to the bank* -
Yeah, being endorsed by somebody who exploits other peoples' misery and financial devestation is really great. That guy embodies all that is wrong with the modern economy.

And all those economists that support it... Hey, if you don't want your income tax lowered so that you can drive around in a gas guzzling SUV, then by all means vote Conservative... -
I guess Harper should be expecting ZERO seats in Quebec now...
