I don't know if you understand the connotation that "revisionist" has when it comes to history... but whatever the case, it may surprise you to learn that the Jews were defeated and forced to disperse from what is now Israel about two thousand years ago. They lost the land, and just like any other losing nation is not entitled to it. Over the centuries, there were always some Jews living in the region, but it was not until the late 19th century that there was a drive to reclaim the lost homeland. That's fact, not revisionism.

Based on what they were polling it was right on, if not a bit low. But Greens always seem to lose half of their support on election day. If the Greens could turn themselves into a more borad-based centrist party and focus on Ontario, they will probably get MPs elected in 2010.

Yes, they increased their popular vote by 2% points, gaining about 300,000 votes. That looks like improvement to me. Too bad we don't have a fair system that allows them the 20+ seats they earned.

Maybe if we had a political climate that allowed for equal representation of all parties in the media and no political polls throughout the campaign to groom voters, then maybe people would be more willing to participate and vote.

Actually, look at the numbers for some of the Con ridings in Ontario. Won by very slim margins or with the minority of voters. The Con party is nothing more than a revamped Reform/CA. I think a lot of its support outside of the West comes from people who sincerely are mistaken that it is the continuation of the old PC party.

It's funny how Conservative supporters keep having to make up criteria to justify why we shouldn't have a truly democratic system. You guys have excuses for why every opposition party isn't legitimate. There are five major parties. If you don't think that four of these parties are legitimate, that leaves you with how many? One. What would you call a system that has only one party to choose from?

If he gets the boot as party leader, I wouldn't be surprised if he joins the Greens. Maybe takes a few loyals with him.

People who voted ABC probably voted either Liberal or NDP. I think it's already been established that the party's national rather than regional appeal is what is part of its problem. If we had a PR system they would have just over 20 seats in Parlaiment, but since they aren't a regional party like the Bloc or Conservatives, they have none.

Pay attention much? The last election was technically illegal, breaking Harper's own law but the GG allowed it. Why? Because she acts on the advice of the PM. If the Cons lose a confidence motion regardless of what it is we have to have an election.

Wait and see... The Greens can't be excluded. They got over 10,000 votes in some ridings, over 900,000 votes total, 6.8% of the popular vote. It really makes the system look worse than it is if they're exluded again.
