Canada's national debt out of control...
Moonlight Graham replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canada just basically deferred the pain. Economic pain now or economic pain later paying back the debt (with interest). People have to eat, but the full economic effects of this won't be felt for a long time. No matter what we do, this pandemic is an economic disaster. -
Just found out Craig Kielburger's parents are teachers and Toronto real estate investors. Now WE buying and selling all the properties makes sense: "Fred and Theresa Kielburger were determined to give their children advantages they’d never had. They worked hard, both as teachers and as strategic investors in Toronto’s hot real estate market. Their efforts paid off. By gradually buying one home after another, living in each, renovating them and selling them for a profit, they were able to build a comfortable life for themselves and their children." http://canadian-living-front.backend.prod.qmicube.net/life-and-relationships/community-and-current-events/article/two-teachers-who-helped-their-kids-start-a-movement And this from a recent news story: "The transactions associated with WE entities acquiring various pieces of property are sometimes complex. In one instance, a numbered company registered to Fred and Theresa Kielburger, the parents of Marc and Craig, sold a building directly to the ME to WE Foundation for $2.6 million." https://nationalpost.com/news/property-brothers-kielburgers-facing-scrutiny-over-we-organizations-50m-real-estate-empire Uhhm...are the property-flipping parents making money from WE charity? Sounds like they did. Sounds like a conflict of interest.

You're a conservative, i rest my case.

He's a sleezy arse-hat and everyone outside conservative supporters can't stand the man. He makes a good opposition member, mostly because he's suck an arse-hat.

WE gave 250,000 to J-Lo to go to a WE Day event. Maybe WE should consider just giving money to the people they want to help, that seems a lot more efficient.
-
Craig Kielburger and Justin have lots in common, bound to be bffs. Both are little princes who grew up with tons of attention on them and they both love the star worship. We Day is some weird celeb worship thing, imagine if all the money spent on it was given to help poor people. Sophie Trudeau contracted COVID when attending a WE Day event in the UK. Wtf.

So how do you fire a governor general?
Moonlight Graham replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
She was chosen because she has a vagina, is bilingual, and was an astronaut which apparently Canadians make a big deal about. Apparently nobody cared to check if she was bat-sh!t crazy. -
The ballplayers are more likely to catch COVID from the people of Toronto than the other way around.

MLB players and staff get tested every other day. Pretty safe if you ask me.

Home Equity Tax
Moonlight Graham replied to scribblet's topic in Anything Off Topic's A Tax on Home Equity is wrong
The problem with giving gazillions in money away is you have to pay it back. Some people assume they shouldn't have to suffer financially during a recession. It's absurd. The people taking the COVID money should primarily have to pay it back. But they want you and I to pay for it. F--- them. -

Washington Redskins to change their name

Washington Foreskins. -
They should also generate more revenue by punishing people who use offshore tax havens. But they won't, because the system is controlled by the people who use them. I'd love to see how much Trump or Morneau pays in taxes.

Not sure. But I like your moxie.

Yes it is speculation you're right. it's a stupid thing for a federal party leader to say. This is the 2nd time he's race-baited the government, the other time was in the House of Commons not long ago where he was removed from the HOC for those remarks of calling a Bloc MP racist and refusing to apologize. You can't just blast people with baseless accusations of racism whenever you feel like it. It's slander.

Jagmeet is a Sikh, not a Hindu. I do not stereotype many millions of people based on a few bad apples. I've had both wonderful and horrendous experiences with all sorts of South Asians including Hindus, Sikhs, Christian Tamils etc. Jagmeet's religion or ethnicity is not the reason he said something stupid here.

America under President Trump
Moonlight Graham replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No. Corporate America MSM is controlled by corporate America. They are owned by corporations and their business model is largely based around ad money revenue from corporations who advertise. If Bernie Sanders was POTUS they'd tear him down too, though i assume not as much because he doesn't give them the ignorant sound bites etc., and also because most MSM is left-leaning anyways.
