WE Charity says it is closing its Canadian operations, blaming COVID-19 and the political fallout from the Liberal government’s plan to have it run a multimillion-dollar student-volunteer program for leaving it in financial ruin. Craig and Marc Kielburger, who are also planning to step down from the organization they co-founded, were set to release an open letter explaining the move. “COVID-19 disrupted every aspect of our work,” the brothers wrote in the letter Wednesday. “The fallout from the Canada Student Service Grant has placed us as a charity in the middle of political battles and misinformation that we are ill-equipped to fight. “The financial math for the charity’s future is clear.” https://globalnews.ca/news/7324897/we-charity-close-operations-canada/ They also said they're selling their headquarters buildings in Toronto. I'm eager to see where that money goes. Their parents, who are pro real estate flippers, have sold properties to WE Charity in Toronto for a tidy profit. Gee nothing fishy there!

A shared Jerusalem has always been part of any peace deal. -

True, but he also unilaterally moved the US embassy to Jerusalem, which is a significant provocation towards the Palestinians and I wouldn't call that "peaceful". -

He assassinated one dude and maybe his entourage on foreign soil who was killing US soldiers. That's different than a war. Bush and Obama killed a TON more than Trump. -
Universities, from merit to mediocrity
Moonlight Graham replied to Independent1986's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't think affirmative action will end until all non-white racial groups are more or less equal in representation. Since that's extremely unlikely to happen, it probably will never end. What do you think their goal is? -

That doesn't mean they aren't discriminated against in the job hiring process by many companies. Studies have proven they are. -

They won't if their goal is equal representation of all races and genders etc in all things. -

How does democracy survive a world of stupid people?
Moonlight Graham replied to Argus's topic in Political Philosophy
Who the POTUS is, it's superficial. Congress is corrupt, it's run by money, money from all over the world. The greatest POTUS of all-time can't fix that. Pretty similar all across the west. Capitalism is destroying the West in front of our eyes, we've sold out our civilization. I think it's too late to save it, it encompasses everything in our society. Today's young people will be raising tomorrow's children. Think about how scary that is. Every generation since post-WWII has been getting worse and worse, and it will continue. Dwelling on these things as Argus does will just make one angry. Don't worry about things you can't change, just enjoy your life and focus on the positives. -
Explain stick and ball sports to me

Not playing sports saves blacks people's lives and makes cops not shoot them. This is simple logic. -

I'd have to see the details of his baby rape policy. -

O'Toole would have to start raping babies for me not to vote for him. -

Wouldn't MacKay be old politics? He's been around with CPC a long time. -

O'Toole seems like a tool, and MacKay was less to the right but not trustworthy given his backstabbing of David Orchard and his helicopter fishing trips. -
The road to 2020
Moonlight Graham replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Why not? You have a democratic choice to not vote. You can spoil your ballot by choice too. -

That's got nothing to do with it. It's someone's choice not to vote or not vote -

That's true, I stand corrected. It was designed by rich educated white men to be controlled by rich educated white men, at least initially. Blacks, women, and non-property owning men could not vote initially. Oh wait it's still controlled by rich educated white men. I guess the votes don't matter that much when palms our being greased under and above the table. America is a plutocracy. -
Canadians want government to take care of them
Moonlight Graham replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The thing with CERB is if you don't have it, and people are legit out of work, what is the alternative? Default on the mortgage? Then all of the banks are screwed, housing prices collapse, i buy a few of cheap houses, wait 10 years, sell them then i'm a baller. -

And Canada is a constitutional monarchy. They're both representative democracies. I've come across a lot of Americans who repeat this myth.
