Canadians will be paying more for everything. Take daycare for example. A daycare will have to recover for the increased cost of electricity, heating and food. Their staff, who are not well paid to begin with, will no doubt find it more difficult to make ends meet and likely demand more money, which will further raise the cost of daycare. This might create needed spaces though, as no one will be able to afford it. So it's like two plans in one.

Energy companies are going to just pass on the cost to consumers by raising their prices. Their rate increase will be based not only on the cost of the tax, but any cost of adaption.
