Yet, I'm guessing you felt there was no reason to be concerned that Gagliano did the books for mobsters and he was named by an FBI informant. Love is blind.

I think it was in 1993 when they were selling their "The Passion Returns" video to all the faithful. Only one goal away from the Stanley Cup finals. That definitely deserved a video.

We pay while Indians live in luxury

If I recall, it was approximately 3,000 natives that fought in WWII. If Hitler had won the native population would be extinct without question. So unless you can make a case that 3,000 natives could have defeated Hitler with rifles, you might want to reconsider your statement. Possibly the government should ask for compensation for the soldiers that died protecting native land and lives. -
Does that mean the Tories refuse to discuss the subject? No.

Read the Haldimand Proclamation. As I pointed out before, it has nothing to do with land sales. But, regarding the land sales we're discussing, you're wrong anyways: http://www.cambridgenow.ca/npps/story.cfm?id=163 If you can provide me a document that is more relevant to this discussion than the Brand Depositon please do. Since you haven't read the Haldimand Proclamation yet, a Google search might do you some good. Of course they do. They're negotiating. Of course his name isn't on the list. The letter is of his desposing. But it is the most important part of the letter. It's an updated list of principal chiefs, not an updated list of Pine Tree Chiefs. To paraphrase, it's telling the British "Here are the chiefs of authority." If Brant had no authority as you'd like to believe, there would be no reason for the list would there? Let me ask you this: Was John Brant a chief. By tradition, who stood in front of council to appoint him? And who was he replacing? -

To be wrong again I have to be wrong a first time. One comes before two. Secondly, you said "When Brant was deposed, it split Six Nation loyalties down the middle." I reiterated your statement. So for me to be wrong, you must be wrong as well. It is not well documented that Brant was only a Pine Tree Chief. His status is uncertain. It's fine to take oral history into account but it has to be trumped by the recorded words of the chiefs at the time. The Brant deposition makes the suggestion that Brant was a mere translator laughable. -

Wrong again. I suggest you research the block B transaction in particular, in which a crown deed was issued (meaning the land passed though the crown). Yes, that means it was sold, not leased. Sorry. -

Deposing a translator split the Six Nations? Think about that for a bit. Does it sound probable? The inscription was actually on his tomb, not the monument, just to keep the facts straight. As far as the monument goes, wouldn't the requesting of such a honour make more sense if Brant was in fact more than a Pine Tree Chief? Wouldn't that make sense of the split of the Six Nations, why Brant travelled to meet the King and why Brant was referred to as the Indian King? I doubt it was because he was the King of Translating. I don't think they paint your portrait for that one. -

So why was it again the six nations' chiefs requested a monument for a translator 60 years after his death? And why was the monument inscribed with the words "principal chief"? -

Sure I read it. It's propaganda (expected given the source). What is factual and you can't dispute are the words of the chiefs and their need to supply the Briish with a list of principal chiefs. It was against their Constitution. That's why the chiefs' words "Captain Brant has not conducted himself to the satisfaction of the Six Nations and according to our Indian customs he is no more a chief." To depose of a Pine Chief was against their customs. Sure, if you can explain to me why over 60 years after his death the Six Nations chiefs felt the need to ask for a monument to be raised for a mere translator. Note the words "great chief" and "distinguished chief." http://books.google.ca/books?id=TYaQkzcKWb...hl=en#PPA142,M1 -

http://www.mohawknationnews.com/news/singl...s%2Fnews3.php%3 Flang%3Den%26layout%3Dmnn%26sortorder%3D0&srcscript=/news/news3.php Now should we believe the oral history version where Brant is a mere translator or the written word of the chiefs of the time? -

The tax and theft liberals were Chretien's. The tax and spend Liberals would have been Paul Martin's should he have been re-elected, assuming he wasn't lying when he promised universal daycare for all Canadians. The tax and give away Liberals would be Dion's, based on the love for his dog.

Fact: You keep proving you have no idea what you're talking about. The Haldimand Proclamation had nothing to do with requirments of land sales. In fact it suggested that the land was not transferable. Read up on this and on Brant. -

The first rule of native activism must be to villanize Joseph Brant, dismiss his role in history and claim he was a mere translator. Your claims that Brant only "let long term leases" and he had no authority are both incorrect. Before the 999-year leases, there were land sales due to a famine. Who was in charge of these? Joseph Brant. After the leases, Brant sold off large tracts of land, mainly because he was pissed of the crown would not grant him a deed for Haldimand. These sales didn't occur in a single afternoon. Yes eventually the council got pissed off at Brant and sent notice to the government stating he was no longer a representative. But for the time he was, he did have authority. The story was likely something like "We said that you could sell off land, but we didn't mean ALL that land." Sorry, no mulligans allowed. -

Did it ever occur to you that burning fossil fuels saves lives? Can you imagine what our health system would be like without the money generated from the oil and gas industry? Without fossil fuels, just how many have-provinces would Canada have? That's right, the big "0." -

The easiest fix here is to stop giving rebates at the local level, since it is a temporary business. That would enable a party to transfer money to riding while not affecting the taxpayer. -
