Hate to burst your bubble, but according to Dion, he doesn't have a hearing impairment one on one. http://www.thestar.com/FederalElection/article/495304 Now, is there anything lower than someone pretending to be disabled to get sympathy?

He did suggest bringing Taliban prisoners back to Canada. I'll go with moron.

People will be voting for the greenshift without knowing what it will cost them. It's a lot like voting 'yes' in the Quebec Referendum. Dion continues to sell the plan on the premise that a dollar will be returned for every dollar collected in tax, giving the public the impression that they'll as much or more money in their pocket at the end of the day. Mr. Clarity, my ass.

By Preston Manning do you mean Kim Campbell? Preston Manning was the guy with the funny voice. Harper's the guy Dion called 'overweight.'

The Man is on his way to a Majority!

That's like saying someone who j-walks is of the same ilk as Charles Manson. The liberals were guilty of organized crime; stealing tax dollars. Not to mention HRDC and the gun registry. Where did all that money go? -

Funny, I've heard the Liberals boast about getting rid of the deficit a thousand times. Not once have I heard them say sorry for many who died as a result of the deep cuts to medicare funding. They just washed their hands of it and let the provinces take all the blame. Then, they had the nerve to call themselves "The defender of healthcare." -
New Food Inspection System was developed...

I posted this on a related thread. It's from a Liberal press release on their website: QUOTE “Today we learn that as a result of the Harper government’s ideological preference for deregulation, the country’s listeriosis crisis was far worse than it had to be,” said Mr. Easter. “Increasingly the Conservatives’ campaign of misinformation about their changes to our food safety system is being exposed. They undermined Canada’s food safety system and the results were devastating. It’s time for Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mr. Ritz to come clean and admit to their actions.” http://www.liberal.ca/story_15224_e.aspx Since he had direct knowledge, could Wayne Easter be more irresponsible or dishonest? -
The Economist-Harper looking at us like numbers

Maybe you should have gotten a fifth grader to proof your writing. -
We need to remake our banking system. It, like our tax system, isn't broken. But since everyone is jumping on the fix what isn't broken bandwagon, let's do it. We could call it the GreenShift (as in money) if that name isn't taken.

CFIA Confirms Liberals Crafted Food Inspection System

The following is from a press release on the Liberal site: http://www.liberal.ca/story_15224_e.aspx How irresponsible and dishonest is that comment by Mr. Easter, since he was involved. Wow. -
DON'T BELIEVE THIS MAN!

You're hopeful for the greenshift? Why on earth would anyone vote for that? What exactly do you believe it will achieve other than remaking our tax system, which isn't broken in the first place? How much more will it cost to heat your home? Do you think energy companies will not pass costs onto the consumer and/or use it as an excuse to lay people off? How will it affect your property taxes? My favourite Dion moment this campaign so far was his "Do not trust this man!" rant during the debate. He said it after Harper confronted Dion on the idea that increased costs would be offset dollar for dollar by tax cuts, when the plan itself states otherwise. Who was telling the truth and who was trying to hide it? If you don't understand the spin, revenue neutral means $40 billion will be taken in, $16 billion will go towards tax cuts and the rest to government programs. Is it cost neutral? Add the $40 billion of tax increases will be passed onto consumers by energy companies and the answer is definitely "no." So at the end of the day, most of us will have less money in our pockets, cost uncertainty and no certainty that C02 emissions will decrease at all. Voting for Dion is one thing. Voting for Dion and the greenshift is crazy.

So your mom offered average (competitive) compensation like every other business and tried to maximize earnings, like every other business. Her employees didn't get 4 months off in the summer either. You need to take a course in business. Business is business, not family. Has your mom ever turned her back on you? What would she have done if it was you in the health crisis? Sacrifice her nest egg or close the door?

For starters, Harper doesn't muzzle the media. If they did, you wouldn't have heard how he muzzles MPs. Is muzzling MPs dangerous? I don't think so. Parties are no longer a product of the people, but a product sold to people. MPs are merely an extension of the brand. Strong brands have one voice. This is why parties want their MPs to stay on message. Harper does seem overprotective and he isn't media-friendly, but after members of the media tried to brand the Conservatives with Randy White comments in the 2004 election, both are understandable. He tells you what he's going to do so if you don't like it, you don't have to vote for him. That's democratic. -

I was waiting for Austin Powers to tear a wig off of Elizabeth May and say "That's no woman, that's a man, baby!"

Following the debate Dion commented that we need a made in Canada solution, not one made in Australia. I doubt the Conservative war room will recognize this as a gift. But Harper should hammer the point that it was he who stood up and demanded a made in Canada solution, not Dion. Dion pushed for Kyoto which would have sent billions out of Canada while allowing global emissions to increase.

Harper's plagiarized 2003 Iraq speech
noahbody replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And if Dion was PM we'd be sending billions of tax dollars out of Canada to buy carbon credits which in no way would benefit Canada or the environment because of Chretien's lack of judgment to sign onto a useless international agreement and then do nothing. Then again, Chretien was the guy who thought a made-man known to do the books for the mafia was a great Canadian. How was his judgment on that one again? The least you could do is give Harper credit for not bringing Taliban prisoners over to Canada. That, I'm sure we can agree would have lacked judgment. -

If this is what is known as a scandal these days, we've sure come a long way haven't we? Have you forgotten what the last government did? Do you really want more of that? -
The only way to find out is to give them a majority. If they bring the death penalty in, vote them out. Number of people harmed: 0.
