President Bush Lowers The Boom!
Borg replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I watched the video clip of Bush - could not agree more. You do not have to like the man - history shows he is correct. Appeasement usually only delays the inevitable. Borg -
Well, as an old neighbour used to say - "You are known to others by the people you hang out with". In the end this babe could not likely pass a security check. Her background is too shady. Great body and as has been said, a real hot dish. Perhaps this guy needs to examine his friends a bit more closely. More than one VIP has gone down (forgive the pun) because of a piece of tail. Whether or not this relationship is over is not the point - it is more important that good old Max realizes optics are important. If he drops her fine - carry on. If he does not drop her it means she is a keeper - or he likes jumping her bones and does not care what the world thinks. Either way he will go on doing what he thinks he can do (get away with) until he is dropped by the boss or defeated in the next election. Not a smart man in my mind. Borg

I can't believe this thread is still going. The indians are winning the white man baiting game. Shame on you coloured folks for twisting tails. Borg

The Poor, Misunderstood Khadr Family
Borg replied to WarBicycle's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canada would be far better off without any of this family within its borders. Leave that "little baby" to rot in a prison outside this country. Bring him here and he will be free in days. We would live to regret that. A bad dog is almost always a bad dog - usually they need to be "put down" to truly solve the problem. Borg -
If I did that, the one I am with now would beat all those Gods to me - and she would put me in the ground herself. Hmm... 10 years you say. Well be sure to eat lots of oysters and keep that protein level up. Heh, heh! Borg
-
Cannot argue some of your points - but when you have the population numbers china does - I suspect they do not value life as much as we do - therefore they will do what they see fit. Mark my words - within the next decade we will be seeing a china that is on the march for more ground. They are dangerous and they are very advanced - they simply do not care what the world thinks of them. Borg

Russell by-law spat sparks bilingual study
Borg replied to Leafless's topic in Local Politics in Canada
So that would mean at least - hmmm..... what was it ...... 49% of kebekers should get out of canada? Sounding better and better all the time. You going too? Let me help you pack your bags and show you the door. Borg -
Salute all you want - I am not a career soldier - I have been in the military in the past and am now serving again - for very personal reasons. As for pimping - I look at it this way. I knew when I was pimped out before and I willing let them do it to me again - at least this time - I need the rush of action. As for the remainder I am an independent and work in a rather unusual circumstance - I am the only canadian on the UN team - it is a bit risky - but that is where the fun is. I serve the team and not the ruler as I can leave any time I want. I do admit the ruler tells me what to do - if the team wants to do it - I go - if not I do not go. Sorry - all you need to know. Risk + rush = adrenalin ! A very addictive drug. After all God, Mother Nature or the deity of your choice takes us all sooner or later - I just wanted another kick at the cat before s/he comes to get me. Mid life crisis solved. Borg

They are doing the same thing we would be doing until the heavy equipment could be brought up - they are using their garden tools. It takes days to muster the appropriate equipoment and get it in place - simple logistics hampered by Mother Natures damages to road, rail, power, water and so on. Primitive? Let me see: Large modern navy - rivalling any nation. Nuclear weapons program. Space program - very successful. Huge standing army. Modern Air Force including heavy lift both fixed wing and rotary wing and very capable UAV's Excellent military manufacturing capability Excellent computer and software abilities - mind you they stole most of this tech. Your closing comment is quite accurate - however they happen to have both quality and quantity. It simply remains to be seen how serious the China government is about this rescue effort. Do not think for an instant these people are either helpless, primitive or for that matter that they give a damn about world opinion over what they consider "internal matters". They are very smart, play the political game to win, are masters at intrigue, think of long term as hundreds of years vs 5-10 years, patient as hell and are quite willing to tell the world to F&^%$ off in a heart beat - they march to their own drummer. They can and will complete this rescue and recovery - on their terms. And those terms may not be palatable or even close to what we in the west believe they should be. And China really does not care what we think. Borg

Canada can squawk as loud as it wants - the other countries simply look fondly at us and think we are the addle headed country cousin. I am over 50 and I am - amoungst other things - a soldier. If you mean it, I can arrange to send you to basic within a couple of months. Start running and exercising tomorrow. Might do you some good. If you pass basic you can accompany me on yet another full year of fun in the sun starting this summer. Canadian people have all the steam and none of the push required to get into Burma. Thank the decades of darkness provided by those bastard libs and their weak kneed, socially re-engineered supporters. The same ones who today howl about lack of progress getting aid to Burma - yet they themselves are part of the reason we will not / could not go. Forcing our way in would be a serious disaster - very expensive in lives. Canadian citizens as a rule do not have the stones to maintain the support required for this type of operation. They certainly would not support a Chapter 7 style involvement through the United Nations. (Never happen anyway - China will veto) Taliban Jack would be crying and the Libs would be howling and finally the media would lose all support for this as the bags come home by the hundreds. A determined enemy in this part of the world need only be armed with a decent, modern bow and arrow with good broad heads to wreak havoc on an invading force. Jungle warfare is very different from the open plains of the desert. But complaining loudly about nothing being done - hmmmmmm ....... it does make a nice sound bite. Right, wrong or indifferent, a heck of a lot of people are going to die over the next year or two because of the ruling power in Burma. For all we know they - Burma ruling party - are quite content to let Mother Nature cull the population. However, that same ruling power will eat well. Compliments of seized aid brought in by those who try to help the weak and injured. Help the rulers by supplying aid. The good stuff will not likely get to the survivors. Turn our back on the UN? That limp wristed Trudeau and his dead leftie friends would roll over in their graves. The Toronto Star and nearly 100% of ontario and east media would pummel the government, the cbc would scream to the world that canada is losing direction and needs a government change. Taliban Jack would foam at the mouth for the remainder of his life and the Conservatives would not be elected again within the next 25 years. I have been pimped out to the UN by the feds more than once - I agree - turn our backs - but it will never happen. Crooked org with no morals. Overall, not a pretty scene and damned little anyone can do about it without going to battle. Who wants to be first? Borg

I was wondering, is there ever anything positive in your world? Or do you hate every ruling party and every leader equally? China mobilized - but then again they have the largest standing army in the world - surely they have the ability to do a little demolition / construction. Borg

Never happen. Too many "tribe before flag" hatreds. You have to see it to understand it. Borg -

About the only way to stop this nonsense is to let Kebec and those who reside there - go their own way. Then those border jobs can be filled by a person who lives under the Provincial Legislature rather than a national assembly. Bring on the next referendum - hell I think I would even donate to the "get out of canada" group in order for them to succeed. I for one am tired of bribing them to stay in canada with my tax dollars. We would likely BOTH be better off if this union was severed. We can only hope. Borg -
Depending on the location, I have seen it go the other way as well. Call it what you will, but it is a two way street. Always has been and always will be Neither side is clean - it happens and it will not change in my life time. Borg

This guy and his wife - in my opinion are both guilty. I often wonder why personal responsibility is not demanded. A drunk is a drunk is a drunk - white, black or indian. In the end - why it is he was even allowed to have kids in the house? Where were the "elders" - those who have the wisdom to guide poor troubled souls? Drinking with him? Too bad he did not lay down and go to sleep out there himself. One less problem for the government to support. Proper funding of child support? How easy to deflect the truth of the problem - a drunk killed some kids - and turn it into a government problem. The feds give the money to the indians and they distribute it on the reserve. Oh, wait a minute - perhaps there was some money NOT making it to the right places? Gimme a break. This was not a murder? It was a drunk - doing what drunks do. If he had been behind the wheel of a vehicle would he be getting this sympathy? Sorry - he exercised his choices - both life choices and immediate vicinity choices. He does not deserve any sympathy. Although there will be those who believe he is a victim of society. He is a victim all right. A victim of his own people and their crooked rulers who tolerate this type of action. So much for the wisdom of the supposed "elder". Dispicable all round - and now "inadequate funding" comes into the story as part of the problem? Gotta' be kidding me. He did nothing more than kill some kids and now is receiving this sympathy. Nice. Real nice. Borg

Haven't we been round this merry-go-round before? I even think it was you that started it. If not, apologies - but after perusal, it is not what you would dramatically claim it to be. Are you sure you and I are reading the same Bill? Borg

Sounds almost as bad as the old Bill C-68 No one squawked then - so why should I bother now? Borg

While it is politically correct to call Mandela an enlightened world leader, the fact remains he has indeed turned SA into a very dangerous place to live and do business. It is not uncommon to enter a home and find the bedrooms are armed vaults - safe rooms - to lock ones self INTO while awaiting help. He needs to stay on the list. Borg

AT - I do not always agree with you, but in this case I must. Had to chuckle at a PM from DM / CR / whomever - not very nice - but telling in its manner. I think I will hang on to it - unlikely - to remind me of the type of person s/he is. Unfortunately when one tells the truth, many do not like to hear it. You have a good one - I am out of this thread. Stay well Borg
-
No response to my comments - just an attack Makes you pretty low. As to what I am about - in this case it is simply telling the truth Something most want to ignore Not a whiner and not a phony - just someone telling it like it is. Perhaps you need to look in a mirror? Is this name calling reportable? Or should I just tell you to F^%K off and die - probably not - because that could be considered an attack - and I certainly would not want someone to think I would do that to you. Hope you have a nice day and that your family is well in your part of the country. Borg

The dignity of living beings with regard to plants
Borg replied to Riverwind's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Not so. Everything that happens for the next 6 years will be blamed upon President Bush. Borg -
Too late - it has been done many times Got any other bright ideas? Borg

Your opening statement is factually correct as has been expressed in media the world over - many times in fact. They can also be read in the english version of Arab News and Aljezeera News from time to time. Your numbers are an interesting bit of info - if correct, times will become even more interesting in certain parts of Europe over the next decade. You will of course be called many things for reporting this. Easy for many here to ignore the potential future by ignoring the past. Borg

Seems to me I have been stating this on "Deaths of Aboriginal Children" and my tall horse friend Charter Rights thinks I am full it shit - then it comes up here as fact? Hmmm ..... c'mom tall horse - where are you? Indians are so f^%ked up they can't organize their way out of a paper bag. They have been bamboozled by elders and their fake wisdom and their false leadership for so many generations that they will remain on the dirty end of the stick for many future generations. And the white man as a whole is happy it stays that way. Brain washing of a sort - and quite successful. Start them young and maintain the story - then they can line up at te Caledonias of Canada to prove my point. Borg
