Pam Bondi Is Wrong About Free Speech
Michael Hardner replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
If you Google the site - "eradicated" comes into use in only a few select instances: -viruses -genocide -eliminating the mindset of the Democratic and/or Liberal party, ie. thought control This is only anecdotal evidence, but IF we go in for that kind of method for assessing truth (like, for example, citing a single crime here or there as proof that people are undesirables) then the site would seem to say that the Democrat and/or Liberal haters are indeed more 'liberal' with use of that word. And, my point: it's a lot stronger than the word 'oppose'. My two cents on that. -

Another one... from West... this time calling for judges to be eradicated from the bench... I assume he doesn't mean k1lled but still harder than saying "we must oppose them" -

"leftism" likely means "the Democratic Party" in this context. Seems a lot harder than saying "a Nazi must be opposed"... -
Trump says foreign workers are welcome
Michael Hardner replied to TreeBeard's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Not surprising. But it's important to note that it's going forward. I assumed (Correctly) that the US government was apologizing, somewhat behind the scenes but it came out in the media through various statements. Good news for Georgia IMO. -

MAGA is, above all, confusing ๐ค -
Yes, true. It took about 15 years for MLK's impact on the American experience to start to settle in. I would say he was far less divisive at that time. If in 2040 we are looking back at CK with the same general feeling, it could be time to propose that. I doubt you could have made an MLK Boulevard in Georgia in 1968. Good perspective though.

You can agree with his points of view, but it's hard to argue that he wasn't a 'provocateur' or 'gadfly' to be generous. If he wanted a better world for all, that could be argued... But there would be significant political pushback from "cities", I would imagine. Some examples of his provocative comments: https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/charlie-kirk-did-stoning-gay-120003332.html

I'll answer: because his mother was hired as a speaker by WE, which was engaged by the Federal Government, to the tune of roughly $10K per appearance. So, for the f*ck Trudeau crowd - this admitted conflict of interest is in the same league or perhaps more condemnable than Trump launching his own money-laundering crypto currency....

Charlie Kirk shot!

Now you had me looking up Nazi furries ๐คจ We're at the point of ridiculousness, and subjectivity as objectivity when people make a legitimate case for looking up a perpetrator's background BEFORE they pass judgment on what they did. Here's the Nazi furry article below. If the shooter was a Nazi furry, a gardening folk-singer, a pro-bowler... it doesn't matter nor does it inform us as to the causal effect of his associations with his actions. It's our responsibility to make sure we have a society that can deal with the people who live in it. https://slate.com/human-interest/2021/11/nazi-furries-deradicalization-efforts.html -
School May Ban 'Only Two Genders' T-shirt
Michael Hardner replied to Michael Hardner's topic in Sex and Gender Issues
I couldn't find the pictures you referenced but... The system is built on dialogue and reasonable compromise. I just chatted with a school official who wasn't aware of the details of the Alberta controversy. That's a shame. Of course there are culture warriors who don't want to ask questions, as evidenced on this thread. They arrive at any discussion with a goal of painting the opposition as immoral, and walking away. And they think that it's the right way to deal with problems. Conservatives and liberals need to make sure that the process is so boring that these hot heads don't show up. If they do, let them bleat for their two minutes then get back to the grown up conversation. -

That's a great first step. It would have to come from Centre right and Centre left public groups: A list of agreed upon tag words that civil society degrees to stay away from, even if someone believes they are apt. After all, It's impolite to call someone a bastard, one even if they are one. -
Yeah, I don't know either.

1. What about for saying there are two genders ? Or Israel is apartheid ? Or mooning someone ? 2. Yes, by what you see as their gender but not what they see - regardless of your conception of facts. 3. I'm not, which is why I had to try to frame #2 objectively and not go down the path where you unilaterally declare that offending someone is ok based on facts...

Somebody got fired for making fun of the shooting. Free speech ? People call trans people by their birth gender and don't care. People say f*** your feelings. For sure some of it is online culture. You wouldn't say it in real life. And for sure unhinged people are triggered. One thing I also think, and a lot don't agree: both sides like to shirk and deflect, play word games and point fingers... I'm guilty too...
