Please note: not the American (former) constitution; not the values of liberty, democracy and the rule of law. That seems to be in the past, in that crowd's minds. One can interpret it as either: "Donald Trump" who defines the country's values now is here to stay for a long, long time, confirming the end of the constitutional period. Or else, America's friend list will change with each new administration (the end of credibility and sanity). And so, as of now and right here America is on the threshold of letting go of her sanity, credibility in the sane world and democracy. Tell me please how would it be an exaggeration?

There's much shorter and older summary of this reality: "the sleep of reason produces monsters". Interestingly, almost to a year the contemporary of the (now former) American constitution (1797). It was a merry dumb sleep of many too. Many hands made their generous contribution to this fiasco that will now reverberate in generations.

It took Trump less than a month to demonstrate the country and the world factually, that the system that is about three centuries old is heavily imbalanced to the executive branch; and in combination with de facto dysfunctional legislative, this is a simply dangerous condition that can, objectively again, result in a hostile takeover of the government by a non-democratic, authoritarian group. The political system had decades if not a full century to understand this flaw and remedy it but it was complacent and disinterested. So, the time has come for the hard cures. Evolution does not tolerate sleepy complacency.

For the public Republicans, MAGA is making it an exclusive choice between honesty, integrity and sanity itself on one hand, and the unconditional loyalty to th Fuh- Idol. Just like in the bad fascist times about a century back, nothing new there. Just like when Hitler's fascist mobs tried to silence all opposing voices. We know how it ended. These days, no one can claim innocence, ignorance or naivite.

I seem to be unable to keep updating the list in the OP indefinitely so I suggest adding all factually confirmed statements from Republicans on the subject in the free flow format and the final list can be compiled in the end. As of this point, the count stands at ten, approximately.

I stop discussing and in fact, all contact if/when the interlocutor chooses to depart from the reality, either by questioning an established fact, or stating or implying as a fact something that never happened. At that point, if and when realities can be made or destroyed on a whim there can be no longer any rational grounds to continue the conversation.
