The real source of fascism: not the cult, the destitute mind
myata replied to myata's topic in Political Philosophy
As our live experience shows these days, the greatest danger is from within: a twin government party gets corrupted, falls into authoritarianism then gets to power and begins to dismantle even weak vestiges of democracy. At this time, in my view this is the greatest vulnerability and risk. Flip a coin democracy or a slow slide into tyranny influenced by any number of random and instant factors. Proportional representation would deal with that. But granted, is not the only one. The next highest risk is the influence of big capital and irresponsible advertising ranging all the way to malevolent propaganda. -
Melanie Jolie is no "badass". It's no "badass", nothing about "badass" but entirely normal and common to expect from your guest civilized respectful behavior or get the f- out of my house. Uncivilized neanderthals need to be reminded of it, if needed repeatedly in case they are too primitive or plain dumb to remember and act accordingly.

Rubio in Canada This is a clear, in your face offense against all norms of decency, civility and very basic politeness to the host that go back millennia in human history. They simply don't get it. So far beyond it. Uncivilized, crass, crude. Dumb too. This is the only way the miserable bunch can be seen now, by Canada and the world

Well, if America falls to fascism, today we have ten more names on the list of willing contributors. This time, there are no innocents. Excuses won't count. He's already calling for political prosecution - go and complain but where? The script is the same, step in each stupid, miserable and pathetic step. Only the mirror to blame, but even that would need working eyes and a brain.

The real source of fascism: not the cult, the destitute mind

What "system"? The one they have in the States does very little of that, factually as opposed to all the great talking and writing. And Canada, essentially nobody is immune, but the binary setting of a political system in these times of instant influence is a huge vulnerability. These systems were designed in the 18-19 centuries and for those times. They have not even few, virtually no defenses against an aspiring tyrant propped by an authoritarian cult moving at a lightning speed. -
We can recall that Democrat leadership already failed the party and the country once by going with the nomination of Biden instead of explaining and convincing him that he isn't the best candidate in this critical time. Now they are failing it again, in a major way with the sleeves down, wait and see strategy of doing nothing. The reasons are clear: entitlement, bubble effect, fear. They are too far detached from the reality of the country, what's happening now and wouldn't come back: avoiding and detesting the very idea for as long as they could get away with it. And then, the lights go off. Any number of real, factual examples of countries slowly falling into tyranny through inaction and paralysis of will are right before our (and their) eyes - and it still changes nothing in their act. If Democrats want to stay relevant, a complete overhaul of leadership is due, as well as some long standing practices such as "pecking order" to power. It's very simple, really: if one cannot lead, in such a critical time, there's no point in claiming the leadership. They have no job and no business being in those positions. Let's see if they get even that, or sailed past it too.

Yes that is a possibility if on the other end of the story we have a confirmed, objective fact. Either someone has to explain, in full detail, for each essential and critical function why it couldn't happen here. Or your claim is just bogus, wishful thinking let's hope for the best... as the basis of national security?

Look honestly I've been growing at tad disappointed with this kind of "argument" lately. Let's see: I gave a reference to a directly related story from a reputable world-level media company. And you, a brief statement from the manufacturer, obviously with the strongest vested interest possible, that doesn't address the specific incident in any way. So what is it, again? A cognitive disability? Or could it be the fox (news) syndrome?

Someone probably made this observation before: there's this level of existence that can be called "perpetual destitution", not necessarily in just economic terms but more generally, quality and ambience of life, hope, mobility, the likelihood of positive change and so on. So, living in this condition sufficiently long or even all their life a human would not just abandon all prospects and hope of improvement, but can begin to see them as impossible, alien outside of their reality. Then, if the folks in this condition are risen by some cause, or even warmed up sufficiently by propaganda, the only outlet for their discontent they could grasp wouldn't even be a promise of the better life, sure they hear it but don't see it as plausible couldn't take for real; but that of bringing someone else, a scapegoat under, down and below their own level of misery and destitution. This is why it catches up. The fuel is already there. Scapegoat, hatred, the cult and its idol: fascism, of all kinds and flavours always revolves around this unholy quartet. Hatred to a scapegoat, the only light in those miserable lives. Cult, the instrument. And the idol, personification, a reflection of all that their existence is about. They don't even listen, no need to. They just watch a perpetual, non-stop show of their deep selves as they could visualize it. Destitution is the ground for hatred, the cult and its idol feed on it and channel it. This is why he just can't stop bringing someone down, appoint ever new enemies, hating, threatening. It's all there's to it, the one and only source. Modern, civilized democracies should be looking out for such pockets, why and where do they emerge and work on true, broad prosperity and meaningful participation to prevent the spread. If unchecked it can bring democracy down and has.

All normal individuals, human beings who believe they still have principles and integrity must leave the Republican party now. Yes, physically. Just leave it as a sinking ship or diving plane. It's going down in a total, complete degradation and decomposition. Redemption is no longer a possibility. The party of Trump and Maga, for generations to come. After decades and generations, this will be its final record in history.

This is a lot of words except there's the reality: yes, it's been done already. In Ukraine. Critical support for electronic warfare component was halted or paused, resulting in an operational vulnerability. What other functions are vulnerable? To what extent, could it extend all the way to disabling the plane for example if one or more of critical updates were missing? We need to have good, solid answers and certainly not from hurray-patriots" of your kind, just believe me nothing bad could happen we were such cool buddies years back.

I can't figure out, is it just dumb, or watching Fox news non-stop making irreversible changes in the brain? Do you see/understand: 1. He keeps talking about making Canada his "51 state", just yesterday and again. 2. They can disable them in a matter of days, by withholding critical updates (fait accompli, a factual precedent) Can you (still) add 1 and 1 together, for the obvious result? Or can one really lie like this, bold face, right into the eyes of the country and the reality? Or what is it, else?

Russia's asset or not: find one difference
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That, or lying pathologically. Only two logical options. Stupid: can't see the difference between a painted carrot and real stinking piece of sh*t. Psychotic liar: pretends they are one and same, no difference. -
More pathetic and miserable than the Republican goo is only the Democrat's complacency, complicity and inaction. The former have descended and decomposed into a common authoritarian cult, really nothing more than that now, objectively. And the latter, pretend to see and know, and still decide to do nothing. When the chair and the entourage took over the essence. It began quite a while back, really leading up to a total functional collapse of the political system. In real feed, now.

It is confirmed by the fact that U.S. stopped maintenance of the electronic warfare/contermeasures components in the F-16 given to Ukraine making them vulnerable to enemy fire in operation. This is not a "could be" speculation at this point moved past that to real, practical risks and a critical vulnerability, in some realistic scenarios.
