  1. You aren't very politically astute then. Trudeau speaks to those who have little voice. That is why he will win the next election. The CPC ship is sunk and all the partisan conservatives know it. John Baird knows it.
  2. Why do you think he supports the pipeline? I like the way Trudeau thinks.
  3. What does it matter. Ontario trusts Wynne and the Liberals. Arguing who the next PC leader will be is a waste of breath. I don't see them wining an election for a very long time. Ontario always has been left of center, and the one chance they gave the PC party was a disaster. Wynne provides steady, solid leadership that appeals to a broad swath of Ontario residents.
  4. That's why Justin Trudeau appeals to so many. He doesn't play the partisan nonsense, and he truly cares about all Canadians, not just the filthy rich.
  5. Gosthacked avoided me in chat. Scared I guess.

Gosthacked has every right to call Socialist out. Nobody is scared of you except for the remote chance you are a teacher and we all fear for your students. But socialist does start some interesting debates. He does not have the ability to tke part in said debates but he has started a few good ones

  6. Speaking of the CMHR, did anyone know that Manitoba teachers donated $1.5 million of their own money to that great museum? Teachers care about human rights.

Union leaders like to make grandiose use of their membership's forced donations, but never ask the members.

The Koch brothers will pay a billion bucks next election to the Republican party, but don't worry, they don't expect any sort of quid pro quo from that.

I'm not sure but I hope not. His posts do more to discredit the profession. Maybe that's the point of the character being portrayed.

I believe him... but I don't believe that he is one of the good teachers... I believe he's one of those people that takes 12 hours to do something that a normal person could do in 7 hours.

You do know that if you do that for 11 hours continually you'll go blind, don't you?

  9. Some people are able to watch the Super Bowl. I can't. I have to spend many hours planning for my learners. No days off for me.

It's an excellent way to spend that time. That is until one of the team throws the game away with 20 seconds left in the game.

That's a matter of opinion. Personally I watched the Erzberg Rodeo, Last Man Standing Enduro. Now that's a truly ball breaking only supermen need apply event.

Sports aren't everyone's cup of tea. American Football is a great strategic sport.

  10. Some people are able to watch the Super Bowl. I have to spend many hours planning for my learners.

  11. Not only would I survive, but I would tell you your job is a piece of cake. I don't think you understand what teachers have to deal with this day and age. You are simply uninformed.
  12. The CBC is one of the most respected news organizations in the world. I would be lost without the CBC. I want solid, balanced journalism; not Faux Sun News.
  13. Correct, Michael. Teachers have to be "ON" all day. We can't take a minute off. The general public doesn't realize the many roles we play every day. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/102668066480537363/
  14. If we don't have teacher unions looking out for the best interests of young learners, then we won't have a society worth anything. PCT and his baseless assumptions is what is wrong with this world. Teacher bashing is an art for people like PCT and Moonbox.
  15. Ontario will greatly benefit from Liberal-Liberal governments. Remember that when you vote.

I think the Talking Point is that Stephen Harper is purposely stealing money from Ontario and that's why the Wynne government has to waste money and run up a huge deficit.

Boges, Harper nor Chretien do not nor ever did steal money. Neither did Al Capone.....as for 'employees'..

I need that new tax cut. I am sending my kids to private school and that is pricey

  16. Here is another article about handwriting from the NY Times. I imagine the people who write these pieces, suing phony research are paid by those who want to keep education in the 50s. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/03/science/whats-lost-as-handwriting-fades.html?_r=3
  17. Because it is anecdotal doesn't mean it isn't true. Did you personally see someone walk on the moon i the 60s?
  18. I wasn't referring to you. For the most part, you seem to have a solid understanding of 21st Century learning.
  19. I know first hand that teacher stress is a serious problem. People don't realize the numerous stresses that we deal with. I already know many teachers that are already stressed, and we are just a few weeks back from the break. I would say over 3/4 of my colleagues are stressed. This is not a good situation.
  20. I am a great addition to this forum. I bring expertise in the field of public education to this forum. Anyways, I went back to the article that I posted in the opening of this thread. There are numerous comments since I read the article the first time. A majority of those comments scare me, because they are coming from adults. It amazes me how little the general public knows about 21st Century learning. It absolutely frightens me how some people are so stuck in the past.
  21. Good point, Michael. Teachers are co-parents. Thank goodness public schools are here to reverse nonsense taught at home.
  22. Ontario will greatly benefit with Trudeau as PM. Remember that when you vote, residents of Ontario.

Who knows who will be PM after the election but if the NDP and the Tories keep hammering on Justin, then you may see the 60% who didn't support Harper vote NDP.

    3. Ash74

      Ash74

Never in Ontario. The NDP has been pushed back t protest party here.

"you may see the 60% who didn't support Harper vote NDP." This fantasy from the left surfaces every election. Every election.

I do know that we have too much individualism and not enough concern for the common good.

  25. So you're against social justice. You're likely against tolerance too. You're likely against democracy too. My class was analyzing the debate on climate change. They synthesized both sides of the argument. 100% of my class agrees that humans are causing climate change. The next generation will save this planet. Too bad you are against social justice. Attitudes like that is what is wrong with this world.
