  1. Earlier you made a comment about the number of posts I make and tied it in with my job. You took a cheap jab, which is all guys like you have. The stats with regards to # of posts is as follows: Socialist - 1421 Moonbox - 3797 Maybe you aren't aware, but 3797 is larger than 1421.
  2. You won't attract the brightest if you decrease pay Also, what concerns you about the execution of our education system?
  3. When did we join? Now get back to your teacher bashing session.
  4. Your comment is spot on. People have no clue what educators have to put up with. Walk around the city and observe kids. We have to take them all and do our best to teach them. Guys like moonbox on PCT have no clue, and their simplistic views are laughable.
  5. Many know nothings here wouldn't last a week in a public classroom.

Do you not see the arrogance of your statement about "know nothings"? Personally, given what you've told us about yourself I would have to consider you the "know nothing". You've admitted that you cant do math, no nothing of science. Thats just two things. Can you re-wire a house? Can you repair and rebuild engines? Can you make precision parts? Can you plumb a bathroom? Build an extension on a house, or even just a deck? Can you build a computer? So who exactly is the...

"know nothing"? It seems you are singularly lacking in just about any usefull or productive skill. Yet you have the sheer unmitigated gall to accuse others of being "know nothings". You really do take the cake!

  6. Hey moonbox. Take a look at the number of posts you've made on this site compared to me. Now tell me who has more idle time on hand?
  7. I've heard this many times from many other low information blowhards. Ontario will be like Greece...blah, blah, blah. The ski is falling, ironside, THE SKY IS FALLING!!! There's debt, oh my!!! Fear mongers...I have no use for.
  8. Spoken like a person still stuck in the 40s. Newsflash: THINGS HAVE CHANGED
  9. Here is an example of a government that values public education.
  10. People don't want to pay teachers, but don't bat an eye when this nonsense happens. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/retired-north-vancouver-superintendent-john-lewis-re-hired-accused-of-double-dipping-1.2878710
  11. Then do you also cut back the number of years to become a certified educator. Cut pay and you will attract less qualified prospective teachers. The learners in public schools will be hurt the most.
  12. So what would you say is a fair salary for an educator with 5, 6, or 7 years of post secondary education?
  13. Here you go, Michael. But it involves much reading. https://www.bctf.ca/IssuesInEducation.aspx?id=21453&libID=21443
  14. You haven't posted anything contrary to what I'v said. What makes your narrow-minded views correct?
  15. So what have you seen in the school where you were volunteering? What kind of volunteering did you do? Warming up lunches?
  16. When was the last time you set foot in a classroom for longer than one minute, Bryan? I know. It's easier to make generalizations on a message form to score points with your fellow teacher bashing trolls.
  17. Many of the armchair experts on this forum have no idea what it is like to be an educator these days. All some of you see is the holidays which cause you to make preposterous assumptions. How many of you have any clue what a typical day for a educator is like? I know the answer to that question. The answer is very few. Try dealing with kids who spend all their time at home playing Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty. But hey, it's easy to blame the teachers because that is the easy thing to do.....and the gutless thing to do. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/teacher-stress-is-killing-my-profession-1.789436
  18. The pathetic aspect of all this is that you have absolutely NO idea what an educator has to deal with on a minute to minute basis. We are responsible for all the kids in our classes for 7 hours. Many So-called experts on here couldn't handle 5 kids for very long. We take them all and do our best to give each learner a chance. You try dealing with kids who are hungry each day. You deal with the learners who come to school with all kinds of baggage. And when these kids struggle, people like you blame educators because you don't have a bloody clue what goes on in today's schools.
  19. You have no idea how many hours teachers work. You use the usual teacher basher points that make no sense. You embarrass yourself. Here. http://www.edudemic.com/hours-do-teachers-really-work/
  20. Look at this poster to see the many roles a teacher plays every single day. http://mzteachuh.blogspot.ca/2012/10/tweets-of-day-10-0812.html
  21. If you want to lose an election, attack teachers. In BC, the teachers had almost 90% public support, and those people will remember this lock out during the next election.
  22. Teacher unions care tremendously for the learners in schools. I have no idea why you feel a need to make things up.
  23. Why will it be interesting? Most governments value public education and view it as necessary for a true democracy. Thankfully, people like you are part of a fringe minority of teacher bashers.
  24. I keep hearing debt this and debt that. I'm not concerned. It is our duty as citizens of a democracy to pay taxes. The sky has been falling for years, yet when I look up, all I see is sky. I don't worry about what Chicken Little says. Debt is just an angry excuse of right-wingers.
