Classical Liberal Rex Murphy Rips the Green Party to Shreds
Rue replied to a topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If you aint he aint. You think your take on your views is without bias? Yer on the fringes by attempting to self serve. Its a bitch. Welcome to the fringes. We all visit sooner than later. It's the nature of debate. -
Lol geez Di you are in a critical mood. I like to think of Trump followers as wrestling fans. They do not really believe the script. They do not take it literally. They see it as a parody. They see him acting out in exaggeration their distrust of being told what to do. He's just what wrestling fans call a "mouth". Those are wrestlers that sound great when interviewed. He's like a Hulk Hogan. He's a parody to them. Its a wierd world for them. They just assume all politicians are liars so his being one is not the issue-it is who he insults they like. Its a collective madness in one sense, brought on by a history of dishonest politicians. If you really want to see the distrust of Americans to their government without as much insulting of others, try on Jesse Ventura. If he ran he would be elected tomorrow. Is Trump stupid. I suspect myself he is a demented loose cannon at times but I think off stage he is laissez faire and has no direct say in anything but fires people deliberately thinking it fuels better work and makes him look tough to play up his ego and image of tough guy. Its a 60's management belief his father brought him up on-humiliate people-keep them fearful to get the most work out of them-respect through fear. Its not so much stupid as it is dysfunctional.

I am sorry Shady but I do not get it. How is someone like you a problem? Nowhere have you advocated runing around touching and kissing people. You maintain your proper distancing, you have never questioned proper hygiene practices or even why they implemented the quarantine. All you have said is there has to be a balance approach based on common sense. I do not get how people like you are getting painted as extremist for wanting to go for a walk in a friggin park. What the hell is going on? I get diseases are contagious we all do...but that message is being hijacked and turned into an extremist message in favour of state control of EVERYTHING WE DO. A collective obsessive compulsive disorder is gripping certain people and those people want the government to be used as an agent to impose their OCD on us all. Yes wash your hands but if you want to wash your hands every 5 seconds and swamp your house in toxic chemicals worrying over airborne germs you are going to get sick anyways and instead of Covid 19 you can die from toxic chemical exposures. Knock yourself out. Like you said Shady, some people want to wear a rubber twenty four hours a day. Its their business. Eventually they will find their are other side effects to the ones they think they are preventing which will be more problematic. I get you.

Pareidiolia. It is as you may know the phenomena where we have at tendency to see patterns in otherwise random patterns, objects or movement. I suspect what is often stupidity, incompetence, cover up, all creating chaos, may also come across as planned evil. I think sometimes we connect dots that may not be there because we can not imagine any government or bureaucracy to be stupid. Having worked in the federal government and provincial government, I can assure you I was and remain stupid and was part of many stupid, disjointed, idiotic, incompetent, wasteful, processes and then the inevitable cover up of idiots trying to avoid responsibility for their decisons. We used to have layers and layers of people sitting around discussing in committees and doing no work but being paid all the bonuses and top salaries while the minority in our units on the front line did all the work, got the least amount of pay and were always understaffed and under-financed because we were paying these layers of executives. Is there an illuminati? Are their corporate interest groups running the world? I suspect their are groups of people who join these cliques thinking they are "networking" and pivy to power others do not have. I do not doubt it. I would never argue there are NOT corporate lit interest groups. I would of course concede government units operating in a vacuum with no accountability. I do not doubt a thing and like you when I see some of the messages coming out I suspect like you some kind of agenda. Yah. But I am also saying it could some some of what we are seeing is not so much deliberate evil as the chaotic progression of humans in a world of artificial intelligence, ever changing technology, and environmental and population issues. I hate to say it to you but I am 64. The reality is for me the government has what ten years to control me before I am dead? I aint got much for them to control and I would be deemed expendable in a brave new world. I get it. I am worried about the young generations or those not yet born and what they will or could inherit. When I was a kid I used to think, wouldn't it be great to be born again in the future. Now I am not so sure. I mean I bought into Star Trek's future but my generation also had Mad Max and 1984 and Brave New World. We did not kid ourselves about the continuing erosion of individual rights in the name of collective good. It might be age that does that but when you get older you look behind you and there is more than what is ahead of you still. It makes you appreciate where you are at NOW and savour the moment. You should be critical and question it all. I just hope though you still have a good quality of life with humane values and a sense of positive purpose. Your generation (assuming you are younger if not never mind) has a lot of issues. All I can do at my age is be calm and believe in you guys to do your best to protect creative and political expression and encourage it.

Indian herbologist dies after drinking Trump covid remedy
Rue replied to xul's topic in The Rest of the World
Yes your original thread starter completely contradicts what you said: Your thread starter makes no sense. The above thread would ask us to believe Trump pronounced a formula to cure covid 19 and someone simply took the formula and died. Your entire thread's contention is based on these words from an article you cited: “Due to the lockdown, Sivanesan stayed in the city and one day told us he heard of some medicine from U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent speech for curing Coronavirus. He said it would bring more immunity and help to prevent COVID-19. Deciding to test the effect of the medicine, he went to Parry’s Corner and bought the powder.” He added that Sivanesan must have taken a heavy dosage of the ‘drug’ and he was killed instantly. Mr. Vasan added: “All our products are ayurvedic. We used to test only herbal products. This was a chemical product that Sivanesan was testing though, and possibly for the first time ever.” Did you even read it? The article presents second hand evidence that can not be verified. It asks us to believe that the source reporting it heard what it heard with no proof as to what it heard-unverified heresay. So with zero proof we should just assume from an unverified second hand report that the individual in question heard and I quote about.. "some medicine ". Let us repeat that "some medicine". How much more ambiguous can one get and you want people to assume "some medicine" is the specific formula Trump stated was the cure another relied on to take and die from. Interestingly there is no reference to what Trump actually said. Why not? Why did they not produce his words for this article? Why did they not provide the words they accused Trump of saying? Why haven't you? Go on XUL produce the exact words Trump said. Provide the words where he provided any absolute statement let alone a specific formula for a cure for COVID because you claim this article establishes this and so have you...so where are these words?. You have no words from Trump because he never stated any medication or any formula "would " cure covid and you know that. Trump never provided a cure formula for anyone to take. Next the very article contradicts you contention this individual simply obeyed and followed what Trump said. In fact it shows the individual knew there was NO guarantee and that is why he was testing it. If this individual though it was a guaranteed cure, he would not have tested it. In fact he did so precisely because he was uncertain of its effects. That testing and uncertainty and the fainting of someone he tested it on according to the article establishes : 1-he knew what he was doing was with risk and uncertain; 2-he then proved to himself he knew what he was doing was dangerous; 3-the individual was intentionally liable for his own death because upon knowing it caused someone to pass out, he increased the dosage even higher. You have in fact established this individual not only was aware of a risk to life but increased that risk which means even if he was acting on what he thought he might have heard he knew what he heard was uncertain and risky and could cause harm. Then you ask readers to point out the contradiction in what you presented? Really? Go on please provide Trump's statement of a cure for covid 19 for all to see. Xul your government the one you blindly defend on this forum is responsible for failing to regulate wet markets. They have been serving as incubators for viruses for centuries if not thousands of years. They have failed their people and exposed them to unnecessary death by not cleaning up the markets. They endanger the world by permitting numerous viruses they know come from dirty markets to spread across the world and they stockpiled medical products to sell making profit from their inside repressed knowledge of the virus. You defend a government that has committed crimes against humanity and you try detract from that culpability by blaming Trump with this false accusation. -

Do notice the troll disappeared and tdot suddenly appeared. Its a repeat pattern on this forum now in many threads and its odious and tiresome and it needs to be called out for what it is trolling by the same source posing as more than 1 individual. -

Its a good idea and many do at elementary and high schools. They have told me by university, students are too self absorbed or get into a very fixed and rigid set of views that don't exactly make it conducive to free speech. I have been at such encounters and seen students shout down people they disagree with. By the way I am not a full time professor. I always worked. I taught but part-time. I never solely was an academic. I found the world of full time academia artificial and fascist and they found me to be unruly and insane. Of course. I worked for a living. It has that kind of effect on people. Its all good. We should question. Vets are great history teachers. -

Lol why would I be offended. Its true but please don't tell me your insanity or mine is only because of university professors. You flatter me. Seriously. I have no brain washed groupies. The students I have taught are quite independent. Their addictions, illnesses, personalities, lol, very very little to do with me. Come on man, blaming university professors or any teacher for brainwashing you is a cop out to avoid taking responsibility for your own thoughts and actions. Nah. You come by your views honestly man. No one shoved them in you. The fact you blame university professors necessarily means they sure as hell did not brain wash you. If they did you would be praising them. Think about it. Had you been in any of my classes you would have never been told what you should think or given just one opinion. I teach law and conflict resolution. We see an infinite number of positions to any issue. I have taught certain kinds of criminology, risk management or psychology but its all formulas not closed concepts or definitions. The formulas are flexible and not a one size fits all formula just guidelines you may or may not use. I could argue with you whether a person with bi polar disorder or depression should or should not take medicine but I would not pose it as you HAVING to take medication. I would simply present the pros and cons of a medication. You are an adult. You have to make your own decisions and stop blaming others. Its like going to psychoanalysis. It can tell you that some of your behaviour comes from unresolved issues of the past but blaming people in the past for your issues is pointless. You have to let them go and here and now make your own decisions. -

Did Trudeau Fail His Country On Covid-19
Rue replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Wes the issue is unhygienic conditions from the wet marks serving as an incubator for viruses. Its a problem with China. It is an issue as to hygiene in China. Trying to deny that saying if you say that, its racist against Chinese is bullshit. Its as dangerous to Chinese as it is to anyone else. Its a failure of their regulators. You know that I know that. You know and I know we criticize their government. If people have an issue with us doing that who cares. The few I see defending China are not accusing anyone of being racist at all just fairly debating the other side of the coin. As for travel ban you and Argus wanted everyone banned not just Chinese so to call that racist is bs, again its an issue of controlling movement of people globally during a pandemic not just Chinese people. So in regards to your issue about how far and how early we should have banned travel is of course one of many questions. In hindsight I bet you our current government would have acted faster. I mean in hindsight it probably would have learned from Sars, created sufficient emergency inventory of medical supplies vital in a pandemic and put into place the early warning and testing system it was supposed to after Sars and never did. We knew more viruses were coming and chose to do nothing. The only new issue is with tracking do you do it through an app or another way. If you do it through an app how do you make sure its not subject to privacy leaks or misuse for other reasons other than disease control. These are the issues I guess. We meaning you and me do have the benefit of hindsight when we look at the issues. How much of this was avoidable and how much wasn't we may never fully know but I will say this to you, as much as I think people screwed up with some things, others have done their best on with other issues. Call me a sugar coated sap but I do think our governments have tried their best once the dangers of the virus were known. I mean I never expect you to trust Trudeau but let's face it he is a script reader. Again I am being arbitrary and subjective but I have found the Premiers like Ford and his counterparts in Quebec, Alberta, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, BC, very up front on their failures and what they were trying to do. Trudeau well he's been asked to be a cheer leader script writer. Look at him. What else could a drama boy do? -
The issue is not about what "you" say but the syntax, headlines, and style of response between " different" people. I ask everyone to read the supposed Chinese immigration evasion story. The entire story is based on a vey clumsily presented heresy story and proposition tax evasion is happening because the government does not care to regulate it. Now you are engaging in the exact same accusation only now about forum regulators to justify what you do. Yah I caught that. Not hard to do. Let me be clear. Your opinions are not the issue. Long before Tbot showed up you were using headlines and news clips to avoid debating. When you were in fact inviting a debate notvsimplhbpresenting a statement mecand others debated you and still will. If you simply present a headline and a clip and a declaration orbunilateral pronouncement as you have cond and now Tdot does..thecrepeatcsyntax, headlinescand responses become highly obvious. The use of identical syntax, headline use and the sudden emergence of new posters who then disappear is. I also notice nowcan alleged dispute between you and tdot but it only arose once I challenged you as being 1 and the same sourced identity. People can decide for themselves if you 2 are the same person, same sourced bot, troll or legitimate participant. If you are not coming from the same source using the exact same syntax, techniques, I will be the first to debate your opinions but defendv your right to say them. Use headllines and cropped articles to make unilateral pronouncements I will challengecthat as political spam precisely because it tries to prevent two way debate and only floods the board with one opinion. If you do not want me to mislabeling you as Tdot, then surely ghdcdifferencd in your posts will prevent such a misunderstanding. Here let me make it simple..debatd people's opinions and you have no problems with me. Hey now.. first thing someone who murders does is to wash his hands and clean things up. The second thing is to pronounce his cleanliness when questioned. Some of the dirtiest people in the world are clean man. Real clean...but theyvalways miss a spot.

..and it now poses through multiple names but is so clumsy it leaves identical techniques and syntax and references while trying to pose as different characters. Do not worry about it. Pathetic. The anti American crap is hilarious really. It's like Tokyo Rose, Hanoi Jane, Lord Haha. The script is pretty lame and the more its produced the more clumsy and transparent it gets. Look how was to respond to you Wes. Lol. -

In response to: 1. Oh do let us use the word cheap, as well as the words unsafe, defective, hazardous and crap. Don't kid yourself as to who you are sleeping with. 2. Blaming Trump for starting trade war with China is like when you tried to blame what was her name.. for that child you had back in Lima in 1965..she did have some help from you and it was a business transaction that needed more than 1 participant. 3.,4.,5. Nothing melodramatic going on about what China does to countries, i.e., ..see no.2. China is spreading diseases. You get into bed with her you better use a rubber Mr. Harder. Disclaimer The above was only a fictional analogy. Any actual resemblance to the Sir Michael Harder on this forum or Senora Lolita Chi Chi Guevera of Tijihuana, Mexico are coincidental and unintended.

Did Trudeau Fail His Country On Covid-19
Rue replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Your response is hilarious. You now argue you believe there are only 6 covid cases in China and the need to test 11 million is not relevant to your assumption covid 19 is defeated. Then you make the assumption covid 19 only causes a medical threat to old people so you can ridicule old people based on an assumption that your age makes you immune to any negative consequences of covid 19. You might also want to consider before you date anyonecyou get some advise on your premature conclusions. At least pull up yer pants kid before you get in the ring with me. I would have said put a cup on too but from what I now see, do not worry about that, it's no big deal. -

Its not a conflict of interest. There is nothing that prevents journalists from accepting paid speaking gigs. You mistake the legal concept of conflict of interest with bias. He may have a bias but not a conflict. The two are not the same. Of course he has biases he is an editorial commentator. That is why he was hired...to express his biases...what you do not like is his opinions or biases. Like the CBC and other people of your same biases, you don't like his. He was fired for not having the same biases as the CBC wanted him to have. You slap labels on him he has never denied. He is open about his opinions. Now he is fired for having them which means the CBC once again fires people they can not turn into their mouthpieces. -
