  1. This isn't about her reducing her lifestyle. She claims to be working more to finance it. This is about a government knee capping her to fund their coffers when maybe the government should be getting its house in order.
  2. They all manufacture news now. Fox News is basically an editorial on an endless loop and unfortunately CNN and MSNBC decided to play the game too. Because trump doesn't want illegal immigrants coming in, especially criminals, along with making sure immigrants from war areas are properly vetted like our immigration policy? Unfortunately in this day and age people shout racism to stifle debate on solutions to problems which is a bad thing. Yeah those regulations, if they are at the point of stifling growth then they get tossed. No risk no reward. Like I said it's a sad state of affairs when Americans have had enough to put someone like Donald trump running the show. I was more of a Rubio or walker fan myself but a lot of Americans weren't.
  3. A mortgage still exists which she is trying to pay off. Nothing wrong with inheriting things as it enables growth which benefits everyone. Petrol energy will eventually be replaced by something more efficient and less expensive. However government shouldn't make that call, the market does. There's a reason whale oil and horses are passé. If you want to give up your lifestyle to live like the pioneers have at it. Many people don't and certainly China, India, and the USA doesn't either. The air is still clean in Canada and will continue to be. People can adapt. OPEC learned the hard way about what happens when oil at $100 plus kickstarts innovation. Canada and the USA have basically neutered OPEC and they have been forced to cut production which eats into their market share. people around the world want our lifestyle and all forms of energy - nuclear, solar, hydrocarbons, hydro, tidal, wind will need to meet that demand.
  4. That's one of the things that only those with much more power and influence than either of us will know for sure. There is a connect the dots out there and I wonder how much money will be put into the clinton foundation when the clintons are now essentially powerless It's quite plausible that money for favours was going on and people shouldnt let the anti-trump narrative bamboozle them.
  5. One thing to note, the charter isn't set in stone, it's on ink. Parliament can if there is enough public will amend or change the charter, granted it would be very difficult, it still can be done which is a good thing as it still enshrines parliamentary supremacy.
  6. What are you talking about? The right wing is more adept to risk taking, if anything the left wing has a far more propensity for fear based in the business world.
  7. Let's be intellectually honest for a second and yes her charity did do some good things, however it's quite easy to obtain financing when one of the pillars of that charity is in power and grants favours. That's a problem. Its not being bamboozled, it's an observation that power can be influenced with money and connnections.
  8. But generally all media has some kind of bias due to the fact a person with feelings and emotions are the editors who send out the message. That's just human nature and all media outlets have that in common. there has been a vision of what America is supposed to be purported by democrats and the media and a lot of people just got tired of that vision. I would say there is a march of progress on excessive political correctness that enough people either saw it as a threat (brexit) or had enough of it and wanted change (USA). There are lots of things I disagree with trump on and things I agree with such as slashing taxes and cutting the excessive regulations. However I do enjoy watching the middle finger being given at the so-called establishment and leftists being twisted in knots over it. in fairness trumps isolationist policies are in fact detrimental to long term growth and it's unfortunate that it's ironic that he's wanting to punish Mexico for succeeding which is essentially cutting Mexican emigration rates to the USA by growing the Mexican economy. I would much rather do business with Latin America than china. However the Americans with a decade of stagnation had their patience wear out.
  9. That's trumps weakness I'm afraid. The ridiculous economic arguements like tearing up trade deals along with incessant meddling in the market.
  10. And there you go jumping to conclusions. Every time you buy a house without enough in the bank you take a mortgage, once again you don't know her situation in totality and are spewing garbage. She's complaining about Trudeau putting another tax on her when she's already at her limit. You might want to live in the 1850s standard of living with curbed energy usage, I don't. There already is a price on carbon, it's publically traded and anyone can buy crude futures. Funny thing when crude went past $100 people made smarter decisions. how about she gets to keep more of what she earns and let the free market figure out what happens to energy. It's why we don't use whale oil and horses anymore.
  11. Oleary is banking on Trudeau's policies stagnating the economy, which it is. There is a definite move against the establishment with brexit and trumps victories. I would look to the French general election and see if marine le pen wins which would be a big deal. oleary would be a move against the Canadian political establishment which might be what people want given the Canadian economy being relatively stagnant over the past few years. As for learning French, oleary has said he will learn it however it would take time to be able to debate in it. Oleary's vision consists of slashing red tape and creating jobs while being inclusive. Oleary is the only one who can take on the media machine and get inside trudeaus head.
  12. It's been irrelevant for more than 20 years. Power brings out the worst in people.
  13. I find it laughable that Trudeau supporters are trashing her and then saying the conservatives are just as heartless. It's one thing to become unfortunate due to a downturn in the economy and have to put in extra work to improve your economic situation, but in this case it's a government literally making things more expensive and there is nothing that people less unfortunate can do when the government keeps taking them out to the woodshed. trudeau literally told her that the carbon tax was necessary and was going to provincial coffers saying that the government knew better to do with her money than she did.
  14. Maybe low skilled low paying jobs were all she could get. Maybe she and her husband were making money before and could afford things but a big change happened. If you are a liberal supporter would you advocate that to people if they weren't white and couldn't afford kids or live in the inner city?
  15. I've talked about Andrew scheer. He's quite capable and would do a good job. I don't know what his vision is though and I think he would get creamed by the liberal and media machine, he is more policy wonk but has no policy. Oleary however is media savvy and has a clear vision on how he would do things. People want to vote for something instead of just becoming the leader.
  16. Lol, a lot of times maybe if those people didn't diddle with us to start with maybe they wouldn't end up weak and powerless.
  17. Well looks like they are going to keep each other honest. At least with the cord cutting phenomenon people get to pick and choose where they get their news from.
  18. I guess the new thing for us is to deal with the bond vultures every 30 years.
  19. Like i said winter is coming. It sucks for us western Canadians that see this and yet we have the elite in Toronto and Montreal sticking their heads in the sand - I guess it's ok for them to have money and everyone else doesn't. Must be a power thing. What's worse is I bet they will still vote for the liberals in 2019 and then the bath truly begins...
  20. How in gods name do you know the terms or her mortgage or when she took it out? She could very well have bought an old house in the late nineties and the mortgage might not be 700+ a month making it very likely her hydro (at the insane rates) and heating are more than her mortgage. Not all houses are $400k. Keep jumping to conclusions...
  21. Unbelievable leftists trashing people who are struggling to get by. A classic example of liberal champagne limousine socialism on display. She is making a case of how she is at the breaking point of not being able to afford another tax, but let them eat cake so that the Toronto and Montreal elite can play do gooder!! Had she been living in saskatchewan she wouldn't be putting up with that nonsense!
  22. http://globalnews.ca/news/3179769/justin-trudeau-confronted-by-sobbing-ontario-woman-over-cost-of-hydro-bill/ there is an imbedded video on the article which doesn't make Trudeau look good. He essentially says carbon pricing is coming and that it's ts for people making 50k in rural Ontario.
  23. i know everyone is skeptical of foxnews, but watch objectively and krauthammer gives a reasonable opinion of what's going on. (Yes the interviewer lets bias show)
  24. Trump could very well get into a large scandal involving his company. But a fake piss story possibly started by some guy at 4chan ruins the credibility of people who are buying it.
  25. Nobody is panicking except for leftists trying to bury trump and end up getting egg on their face
