America under President Trump

And here we go with the conspiracy theories... trump does what trump wants, GOP brass learned that lesson. Putin is taking a wait and see approach with trump to size him up as is trump with putin. -

To save this thread, it shows the efficiency of the private sector in finding Erebus -

Ontario has has the largest sub sovereign debt in the world because its politicians can't organize a two car parade. Ontario has been a have not province for the better part of a decade, no equalization payments going out... Ontario has considerable influence in federal decisions due to seat count, it also receives federal support being the seat of power in Canada. Exporting products means nothing if you can't buy things, which Canadians tend to buy a lot of American products. The dollar dropping like it has is comparable to a large tax increase. Alberta did do that right, Ralph bucks were sent out before oil hit $100 and budgets were balanced. Going to the left cost the Alberta Tories the house. Higher taxes, which makes customers poorer. Ontario has a history of being poorly managed- Rae days? Was managed good under Harris and then went for a nose dive. It's going to be hard to compete with newly business friendly Michigan with high electricity costs, more regulation, carbon taxes. Ford and Chrysler are building plants in the USA. Where are Canada's plants? -

And part of that charitable work was allowing foreign dictators to influence the White House. How's the Clinton foundation doing since Hillary has no power anymore? yes trump is worth 4.5 billion dollars and is owned by someone... if the Billions owned by GOP donors couldn't reign him in than neither can the russkies. -
The podesta emails were from wiki leaks. It was good enough to publish the manning leaks, it's good enough to publish the rest

Trump wants to put out the dumpster fire. Good relations make for good business. If they can do business with China, they can do business with Russia. My problem is that like with China one must be careful about doing business and not compromise your security and economy (not done so well with China). Trump wants customers for American products and Russia's 100+ million people is a relatively untapped market. We will see if trump has the chops to deal with Putin. As for freeland and rues theory, freeland did get the deals done, blubbering or not. Maybe she's a threat and is setting her up to fail. From rues assessment it seems like a very weak government set up so trudeau is clearly in charge (like the Tories under Harper). Freeland a la Trudeau has next to no influence anymore in dealing with trump and Putin. Our influence pissed away when or dollar tanked, commodities tanked, and our good finances went out with the Tories. Paul Martin had more pull than Trudeau - sorry gq magazine doesn't cut it.

It was just a giant laundry machine for Saudi money. Money goes in favours come out. people want to see the tax returns to find ways to slag candidates. Trump wasn't playing that game -

Enough Americans didn't care to see his tax returns, however enough Americans didn't approve of the Clinton foundation kept afloat by dark money from Saudi Arabia. -

I've answered the question a lot. The Russians hack all day every day. We don't know who hacked podestas computer. Russians, Iranians, North Koreans, bob from Silicon Valley, who knows? The Benghazi emails were not hacked and came from subpoena. Maybe if Hillary offered a coherent plan for what she wanted to do instead of being entitled to inherit it, her cadre didn't accuse a lot of the country as deplorable, maybe campaigned in Wisconsin, maybe listened to blue collar voters she would have won. -

Wikipedia gave an estimate of trumps worth and Wikipedia is edited frequently. Assange is a wannabe white knight and knows who his source is, who he says isn't Russian. From his previous leaks, they tend to come from disgruntled insiders. putin can release any rnc email he claims to have. Trump got elected president after the hot mic incident that was supposed to sink him, his various tweets, speeches, interviews where he is unfiltered. Trump was supposed to lose bad in the primaries, the election; however he manages to survive. The Russians can release whatever they want, does trump care? -

And assange is on the record saying the Russians weren't his source. Like I said the Russians hacked yesterday, hacked today and will hack tomorrow. And like I said the Dnc emails were small potatoes. As for trump doing the funky chicken, trump has already won the presidency and survived things that would destroy other candidates yet still keeps going. Trump has already won the game and at 4.5 billion dollars is pretty hard to influence. -

Benghazi is the starting point of where hillarys emails were discovered, the multiple devices, and server in her basement. Then the comey investigation, all countries hack all the time, that's no surprise to anyone. Podestas emails hacked by an unknown entity and released to wiki leaks were small potatoes. a concern to American voters was if podestas emails which were small potatoes could be hacked, what about hillarys private server? That coupled with trumps vision, hillary's entitled attitude, and millions of people tired of being talked down to by coastal elites is why the dems lost. -

Benghazi is where it started. The hackers were dealing with podesta. -

Trump is worth 4.5 billion dollars, people that rich only listen to themselves. nobody is denying hacking took place, but to suggest that the hacking is the only reason trump won is peddling for excuses. I mean crap that podesta said in an email isn't going to be the straw that broke the camels back -

And is inflating a housing market the way to do that? Ontario has horrible policies and massive debt, Quebec has Byzantine policies as well. Bc is enjoying a housing bubble. How is that sustainable? How does that now compete with a market that is going to slash taxes and regulations? How do we buy things when our dollar takes a bath? Our country does well in producing natural resources and providing means to finance them. How does Ontario now compete with Michigan with carbon pricing, runaway electricity costs, and higher taxes after Michigan made itself competitive again along with clear policy from the next administration to lower taxes and regulations? the policies of the smaller provinces have proven effective and are examples to follow -
Dion comes off as a dud, he gets very flustered, can't articulate well, and comes off as a very weak individual. Perhaps Trudeau shouldn't have given him foreign affairs and kept him to the back bench. too bad for mccallum being a drunk, abuse of mind altering substances have ruined many a people.

Kevin O'Leary & Pierre-Karl Péladeau
blueblood replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I've always liked O'Leary and he's the only candidate with enough media savvy and influence to take on Trudeau in an election. As for learning French, a year or two should be enough time to be able to hold a conversation. scheer is the most qualified right now and in paper would appeal to a lot of people and O'Leary likes his ideas, however scheer comes off as a policy wonk who would put people to sleep. Star power and economy are front and centre for the next election. -

He had a budget to bring back into balance which happened. The 08 recession hit central Canada hard and if not for sky high house prices in Toronto, they would still be clawing out of the recession -
You should know well enough that's a perk of being in charge when something good happens. Dion is finding out the hard way...
-
She still got the deal done and her name is associated with the successful deals. And for canola the Chinese are also realizing that they are losing their leverage in that as there is more and more refining of it in Canada and the Chinese get the vegetable oil end product. regardless the deals got done and Canada comes out better than having no deal
