True, that is a different kind of vacation than going to whistler, the west coast, Newfoundland, and his other spots frequently. The above kind of vacation is more down payment on the UN Security Council seat... the question is did Gerald Butts set it up...

As if the Harper burnt his toast threads weren't bad enough, we don't need trudeau burnt his toast threads. Trudeau can spend his pm salary and trust fund money on whatever he wants. Trudeau I mean Gerald Butts are already driving the economy into the ditch with a carbon tax, excessive government spending, and now taking a page from the clintons with pay to play. Tories take vacation, the ndp takes vacation. There are bigger fish to fry than splitting hairs over which is a vacation and which isn't.

People shouldn't be drinking any flavour of kook-aid, otherwise elected officials aren't held accountable.

Kevin O'Leary & Pierre-Karl Péladeau
blueblood replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It's also interesting that O'Leary had said he was open to supporting scheer and bernier. A culling of the herd is needed so a proper debate can take place. Kellie lietch is no trump and will get destroyed in an election. if there's anyone who can get himself out of hot water it's O'Leary. Bernier still has the ghost of biker chick past to deal with too. -
Please watch some YouTube clips of her when she tears apart snowflakes, Donna brazille, and other leftists. Kelly hammers everyone and is not the type of person who has a cry. I'm not a fan of democrats and liberals, but let's try to be intellectually honest and not drink all the trump look-aid.

Kevin O'Leary & Pierre-Karl Péladeau
blueblood replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
O'Leary has the name recognition, presence, and policy idea to hammer Trudeau with. Trudeaus fate is tied to the economy if O'Leary gets in. O'Leary does tend to get ahead of himself when discussing areas he's not as familiar with as finance. And would O'Leary repeal the carbon tax? andrew scheer is good but he needs to take lessons from o'Leary about stage presence which will be needed to topple Trudeau. -
Agreed, have you heard her take on snowflakes? There are lots of people on the right who don't agree with everything trump says...

It also gained her a following among people not in trump nation. She read the tea leaves and made her choice to ask trump the hard questions and I'd say an 8 digit salary says she's made the right call, plus more time with her kids. i find it quite amusing how Fox News has given trump a huge pass on going against typical conservative economic values. I.e. Massive spending, trade wars, picking winners and losers in business. I'll admit I'm giving him a pass because some of his other policies of cutting red tape and slashing taxes are good policy and that business confidence is greatly improving. I digress people are like sheep at times, a lot of the comments directed at her were in my opinion quite ignorant. A lot of people think the president is going to come in on a white horse and save people when in fact congress does the heavy lifting and people have to look out for themselves

No arguement there. I think the "war" was his ego and to rile up some support. Also that "war" really boosted her career.

America under President Trump

Maybe the Russians did the hack but the leak itself came from elsewhere - multiple hacks -
I agree, I find it's going to be quite a stretch considering her opinions she expressed on her show about some matters. I don't know if she will get to bash snowflakes on NBC....

Democrats Are In Disarray...Not GOP
blueblood replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No it wasn't lack of regulations. It was government meddling that turned a cyclical recession into something worse. fear keeps greed in check, add regulations to take away fear and greed takes off... -

No, regulation wasn't needed. Stimulus doesn't need to happen, let the prices fall in accordance to demand realities. Regulations hurt the little guy and cause more money to go to the sidelines. -
Good question. I think trump does what he thinks will get him votes.

http://www.ctvnews.ca/mobile/entertainment/fox-news-star-megyn-kelly-headed-to-nbc-news-1.3225782 thats interesting given the dynamic of the election in the USA. What's intriguing to me is that if one youtubes any of her clips she has conservative viewpoints and yet she got into a war with trump. I'm wondering if she keeps her viewpoints working with NBC or the editors will clamp down; or is nbc bringing a different point of view.

Is it a big deal in the grand scheme of things? It's shady, but it's one of those tree falling in a forest scenarios... if the only people upset by it are Tories, does it make a difference?

They chased the rich people out and nationalized everything there's no deflection. Declaring war on rich people causes a flight of capital which in turn causes problems - venezuela I disagree with trump on trade and him picking winners and losers in the market. -

Maybe the taxes shouldn't be so high. Venezuela went to war with wealthy people how's that going for them? -
Universal guaranteed income experiment

Hence essentially worthless at the time. Just like a fixer upper house isn't worth as much as a mansion. -
Universal guaranteed income experiment
blueblood replied to WestCoastRunner's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The land was pretty much for all intents and purposes worthless at the time as it was unbroken and isolated. Pretty hard to subsidize people when there are little to no buyers and sellers of land to establish value. The government wanted people to come to the country for tax revenue and to establish sovereignty, and given that there were little to no people with money in the Great Plains they had to give it away to get people to come. -

Curse those wealthy people who create jobs. Republicans would rather have a simpler flatter tax. Maybe if the dems would back off the job creators they would be more inclined to invest and create jobs and increase tax revenues through growth -
