Climate change will make these migrations look like a visit from your relatives.

Like I said, Trump started the call from the first day when he announced he was running and called Mexicans rapists and murderers. He hasn’t stopped since. The idea that he might start acting presidential is a ship that has sailed and a president that could at least act like a human being also seems too much to ask.

Cutting The Cord -- How to leave cable companies?

I have satellite. All I need is a dish and a generator and I can watch tv anywhere. -
None of those people are the POTUS. You don't think he should be held to a higher standard? Waters, Booker and Clinton called for people to confront them not commit violence against them. Trump started this shit, now he is stepping in it. Looks good on him.

Looking for Anti-American Canadians

Don't kid yourself, it's all about the weather. -
Not a bad comparison. New Zealand ranks above Australia when it comes to freedom and democracy just as Canada ranks above the US.

America under President Trump

Dow and S&P have worst October since 2009. All of 2018's gains erased. When are Trump and his supporters going to start bragging about that? 2018 gains erased. -
Of course they had to replace it with another tax. Go back to living in a cave, providing your own food, healthcare and other services and infrastructure you want to use but don't want to pay for. I don't like debt either and am critical of a lot of things government uses our money on but I am only one of thirty seven million and don't get to be the sole arbiter as to how government spends money. You can go live in a dictatorship and have absolutely no say but still get to pay taxes, if that's what you would prefer.

I see you can't be bothered to look it up and would rather just rant. The GST replaced a hidden 13.5% manufactures sales tax which made our manufacturers less competitive and put it on the consumers where it belonged. You're welcome.

How to export more vehicles? Make them more expensive to build of course -
Maybe you should look into what the GST replaced and why instead of just ranting.

the actual purpose of the 2nd amendment
Wilber replied to JamesHackerMP's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I get the point about the National guards and that's what a militias should look like. My point was that those countries mentioned don't consider Bubba with a basement full of semi automatics to be a militia. -
Actually our mean federal income tax rate is not that high among developed countries and about 4% lower than the US. I don't know how we would rate when you add up all our taxes though.

the actual purpose of the 2nd amendment
Wilber replied to JamesHackerMP's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
As far as preventing the US from having a centralized standing army goes, that worked out well didn't it. Militias are different, lots of countries use them (Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Finland etc) all have compulsory service, are considered reserves afterward and their access to weapons and ammunition is controlled. -

I think a proliferation of privately owned weapons could just as easily help establish a dictatorship as prevent one. A lot of dictatorships are the result of populism. -

I don't think they do, what's disturbing is to see this trend in the most heavily armed country on the planet. The one that is continually crowing to the rest of the world about how free and democratic it is.- 223 replies

I don't know if am against it because I don't really know what they are doing. If they are going to use it to make laws, they will need to be a lot more transparent about how they got there. -
Hops are becoming a popular crop in the Fraser Valley because all the micro breweries that have sprung up want local sources. Maybe barley will follow.
