  1. The NDP will never be able to attract sizable amounts from the voting middle period. And Layton is a poll chaser who loves to mug for the camera. Remember when he did his debit card/bank outrage, "because they're charging us to use our own money!" Until it was revealed that he used data to back up his claims from a U.S. study based in Fllorida and just figured it would be one size fits all.
  2. And this position the Liberal party now finds itself in can be traced back to Jean Cretien, whose strong arming tactics and acts of small minded revenge on his enemies within the party drove away some who would have been good leaders, leaving only has beens, and intellectual flakes to contend for the party. The party was reduced to standing for Jean Chretien.
  3. Citizens whose behaviour has gotten them pulled out of society and placed into the big house should not be permitted to make demands about what food they eat, so long as it meets federal government guidelines for proper nutrition. They lost that right when society had to protect itself from them by throwing them into the slammer. That's why they call it incarceration. I do not care what religion they are, and neither should the judges. IF they had followed their religion more closely, they would not have found themselves in prison in the first place. That a prisoner has won 2000 bucks in Canada sounds about right. Our justice system is so pathetic, the prisoner wins $2000 when he wasn't even asking for money! This is simply Madame Justice Eleanor Dawson's way of setting another ridiculous precedent so that the whole prison system has to now come up with the funds to serve upteen different religious diets for prisoners, who no doubt will now convert to whatever religion and then demand to be fed whatever diet this religion calls for just to stick it to THE MAN, knowing that judges will back them up.
  4. You can keep clinging to your polling data, but the facts are the Liberals are floundering and Dion has become a lame duck. The by-elections in Quebec were very revealing. The knives are out for Dion with contenders for his job pulling strings in the background. The NDP are attracting disenchanted liberal voters as well. In this mornings paper (sunday) Duceppe is warning that he could trigger an election. Perfect.
  5. Yes, and those drugs are not advertised as a vaccine for cancer.
  6. Point taken, but any corporation selling a drug with that kind of performance would be sued into oblivion.
  7. I think you missed the part where it's shown that this vaccine only protects against 2 to 4 of the many strains of this virus. In other words, it doesn't protect at all. To compare it to actual vaccines like the polio one is getting way ahead of things. When the medical community actually produces a vaccine that protects against ALL forms of HPV, as they have done for Polio and others, then we can throw around arrogant phrases like profoundly ridiculous.
  8. This reminds me of the 486 drug ( I think that's the name) that has had very serious side effects, yet it gets introduced with great fanfare and any negative info on it is kept on the down low. It's definitely PC related. There is plenty of negative info on the HPV vaccine and such, yet it's being treated like the answer to cancer. I mentioned above a study which links this virus to throat and mouth cancers, and here's a link that lays it out.
  9. Your link is beyond bizzare. I suspect the Chinese Government is twisting arms behind the scenes, and I hope it's because they are noticing a drastic backlash in response to not only the toys, but the tires, the pet food, the toothpaste, the cough medicine and who knows what else.
  10. I saw a report on this during last night's news. They said this virus is involved in the growing numbers of oral tumours showing up. They said a recent study concluded that those who have had more than 6 sex partners face increased risk, which continues to rise with 8, 10 or 12 partners. It seems oral sex is not as safe as advertised.
  11. Well put Kimmy. I was thinking no implants should be paid for until I read this thread.
  12. Okay everybody, let's not go off half cocked... Dear Rue, Rock Hudson was gay, and I'm pretty sure J Edgar Hoover swung both ways, possibly at the same time.
  13. I must correct my earlier musings regarding our media outlets giving muted coverage of the results in Quebec. Maybe it was just too early, but now I've seen plenty of stories on it and Dion's possible demise.
  14. Layton seems pretty tickled about the NDP win. As usual, he's going over the top about what the win means. Soon he will claim he invented the internet. The results are actually a solid shot in the arm for the Tories, which is why the results were stuffed in the back of the two newspapers I read. Come to think of it, the 6 pm newscast did the same.
  15. This thread is aptly named. Yet I believe the PC crowd will simply ignore it and cry Islamophobia whenever anyone expresses concern about such happenings. Islam and China. I never would have thought these two would be the ones to menace the world in the 21st century.
  16. I tend to not tattle. It smacks of childishness. If you can't handle criticism this is the wrong forum for you. So it's your business to be informed, eh? Do you really believe that there is no information or data that is kept classified? Then you are also naive. Your analysis is inaccurate because you aren't privy to ALL of the information. You make very bold statements about things you know little about. You hate Bush. We all get it. *yawn*
  17. Thank you for losing some of the attitude, but please understand I wasn't defending cheney or his position. On your comment, there is an aspect that neither you or anyone not in upper levels of the administration will ever see. There are many efforts and strategies that the press know nothing about, that are efforts to achieve goals for the U.S. government. Unless you can be privy to ALL of the efforts your government makes, commenting on merely what you know is at best an inaccurate analysis. I believe your government defends its interests, some of which include young democracies and some which do not.
  18. Uh, no, but I see you are ramping up the childishness. Did you stamp your foot a lot as a kid or something? It's gettin' old around here.
  19. Then why do you continually keep asking questions of him then if you are of the opinon he can't back up his comments to your satisfaction? Because your assesment was nothing more than a cheap shot, that's why, and your impatience sounds childish. Back to the subject, I will remain forever greatful to Americans the nation over who put Bush in the White House so there was a leader in the saddle when 9/11 hit.
  20. Why must the left continually bring up Hitler? The continual referencing shows perhaps a latent love affair with the man. Hey, maybe he was just misunderstood.
  21. Wow, nice to see a thread with nothing but common sense in it. The Indians get bolder because they know they will not be touched.
  22. I've posted this link earlier so please excuse my rule bending. Your estimates on gays seem high according to this survey, about 80% down the page. 1 % of Canadians, when given the opportunity to stand up and be counted in the privacy of their own home, admit to being gay. Our government is paying far too much attention to what 1% of the population is complaining about.
  23. Talk about only hearing one side of the story. Why oh why did the Iraqi people suffer so badly under that time? Because the U.N. permitted the weapons inspectors to lop off Iraqi heads as they went about their business? Uh no, it was even though the U.N. bent over frickin backwards to get food and aid to the people in the FOOD FOR OIL PROGRAMS, Saddam and his henchmen didn't bother to help their own people. You may have danced a jig on 9/11, I don't really care. But spare us all your crap please.
  24. Well, the first post had a source that seems to have been doubted as well. Same old same old, who do you believe?
  25. True, but with their close proximity to Israel, and with a nutbar with his finger on the switch in Iran, anything happening between those two would be felt everywhere on the planet. An Iran strike would get a counter strike and then the Arab world would get in their jihad groove. An Israel pre-emptive strike would have much the same effect. Makes me at least understand the warmongers who would like to see the U.S. take out the garbage on this issue.
