  1. Then I expect your remaining time here will be short. When you joined this forum, there were simple rules that you agreed to abide by. One of them is name calling. Since you have now decided to willingly break that rule whenever you feel like it, I find it surprising you can't put two and two together regarding the moderator's response. Get a clue.
  2. Higgly knows, and no doubt has sent a note to the White House about it... Since you brought it up in another thread higgly, this lame attempt at slamming Bush bears a striking resemblance to that Beauty pageant contestant who gave a lame attempt at explaining Americans' ignorance. But keep tryin'.
  3. Ah yes, the revisionist gay agenda strikes again. Next they'll be finding that aliens have been having gay relationships and Mars has been strictly gay for 500 years. So we should too.
  4. No, life is not fair for those who stand up and fight. You may be younger than I thought with such idealistic platitudes. Do you think life is fair for the Palestinians, who have been fighting for their rights? And what insult did I give you?
  5. Goodness, why do lefties tend to whine so much about perceived injustices they've received. Here's a bit of advice I gave Figgy upon noting a similar whining performance: life. ain't. fair. Here's a bonus you won't see in your lefty circles. The government can't rush in to solve every perceived injustice a citizen overreacts about. Likewise, in this forum you will get along better if you realize the same about the way things are.
  6. But then again maybe you do need to say more, what does Team America have to do with freedom of speech?
  7. Hopefully we are experiencing an awakening to the dangers of trusting a somewhat backward country of ill repute which has it's eyes set on military build up. They have proven time and time again they have no compunction whatsoever about cutting corners when manufacturing various exports. They have also shown the willingness to steal technology, ignore patents and copyright laws whenever they can make a profit at it. Their new car export, Chery I believe, will no doubt be chock full of these kinds of approaches to manufacturing and commerce.
  8. Uh, nobody's shouting. The American protection of free speech is something that we in Canada don't even have. Priests have been threatened to have their parishs' tax exempt status removed for criticizing a fellow Catholic, Paul Martin. If you ( American Woman) don't appreciate your freedoms enough to leave a positive comment, I do.
  9. Right here is a link showing how women's support of Bush in 2004 won him the election. Like I said, voting on feelings and emotions is pretty shallow, and can be easily manipulated. Much like voting depending on someone's girth. Get over yourself.
  10. As far as this gender thing goes, in one of Bush's last elections (I can't remember which one) he had a definite uptick in approval from women. And we know how troubled his terms have been, so to go on feelings and emotions as women tend to do when voting doesn't have the best results.
  11. I suppose it depends on how high you set the bar. Personally, if it says Made in Canada, that's good enough for me.
  12. Costco's Kirkland Jeans are pretty decent for everyday wear and made in Canada. $17.00. I just got something from Sears that was made in Pakistan and I'm happy with that.
  13. Our future was tied to China starting in the early nineties, and I don't think the Western consumer will turn away from cheap Chinese products unless a disaster occurs entailing many human deaths and Chinese food products.
  14. I think they have survived this long because they don't have your arrogance.
  15. I have been having trouble finding results of this poll that specifically addresses Hillary's high negative ratings. Do you have a link for this, or are you refering only to her general poll ratings. I would like to compare her negative ratings (which she specifically addresses in my link above, blaming Repubicans for the results) to the same ratings of other Democrats.
  16. It's not higher than her competition for the nomination and they might have a thing or two to say about it. I haven't seen numbers for the Republican race, but at any rate the race is young.
  17. It looks like she may have to shore up some areas as she nurses her lead. Recently I heard that Clinton has low approval ratings from voters. Although she's a darling to dems, she has some major work to do regarding the rest of the voters. Kind of funny that she blames these approval ratings on years of Republican attacks. It sounds much like her Vast Conservative Conspiracy back when Bubba was in the House.
  18. Blame the consumer, blame the corporation, or blame China for this one: children's clothing Made In China that has high levels of FORMALDEHYDE!!! Try 900 hundred times aboe levels considered safe. Oh, and the clothes have caught fire, burning 2 recently. Add this to the list: Poisoned pet food killing hundreds/sickening thousands, toothpaste with high levels of bacteria, cough medicine with an anti-freeze ingredient, millions of toys with lead paint and now this. All in less than a year. Sooner or later, North America has to deal with its cheap tooth.
  19. Do you suppose Mattel would give specs on specific toys to be built that would meet safety standards of both the U.S., and the country the products were heading for? I think that is the key question. Did the specs include ingredients and materials to be used in the paint as well, or at least materials to not be used? Since Mattel is a huge and successful corporation that has been making products for at least 50 years, I'l tend to think that they'd be specific about what to make the toys out of. I could be wrong, and like I said, this would be one of the key issues. Also, I don't know if lead is banned in paint the globe over, but it's been banned in North America for decades. For a Chinese factory to use it, unless under direct orders by the contractor ( Mattel) is criminal. I just can't see Mattel directing them to do this. Edit: This isn't happening in a vacuum, it has occured in a larger context of shoddy or dangerous products made in China. It is not a pretty picture.
  20. The thing is, this subcontractor (China) has been screwing up a lot of jobs. In the trades, when this happens, said subcontractor finds he gets fewer and fewer jobs since nobody wants to deal with his screw ups at any price. Pet food which killed hundreds of pets and sickened thousands of others, a COUNTERFIT Colgate toothpaste which had dangerous bacteria in it, a cough medicine in South America that had an ingredient that is also in anti-freeze coolant and now lead in the paint of children's toys. These are just some of the disasters that have occured in the last year concerning Chinese products. Any contractor would drop this subcontractor like a hot potato. I've fired China myself and will spend more to get products from countries with better reps.
  21. No it's not, you are looking for insults and making assumptions, something you seem to do when discussing God for some reason. Haven't you ever been in a situation where you don't know which is the right thing to do? I must profess weakness to you since this happens to me every so often, and obviously you know the right thing in every single instance you have ever been in. It must be nice.
  22. You just spoke in absolutes concerning the Chinese when you say you don't understand those who speak in absolutes. I am certainly willing to let others make their own life decisions, and wanting to explain some things about God in response to certain critical comments doesn't mean I am forcing God on anyone.
  23. Gore has definitely stepped over the line on this one. If ever one's 12 minutes of fame was over it was Gore's.
  24. Neither. When you comprehend the reality of God, his reality makes you want to do what is right. Threats/rewards don't motivate, God does. Do you lie? Even just little white ones? Do you gossip about others at work? Do you get angry when you feel your rights have been violated in such ways as being cut off on the freeway or someone budding in line? When you have God directing and empowering you, these instances appear altogether different than they would otherwise. Also, I said one needs religion to stop doing wrong in the context of the previous remark which said one doesn't need religion to understand right and wrong. I was showing where one DOES need God
  25. No, with God in my life, I want to be a better person.
