  1. The Palestinians are ramping up the demands again, can war be far away?
  2. How about any Prime Minister who had the audacity to literally give the finger to a region of Canada, as Trudeau did, does not get the honor of a day, building or street named after him unless he comes back from the dead and apologizes.
  3. Unfortunately with our birthrate unable or unwilling to maintain even present population levels, our governments are willing to make a deal with the devil on immigration. In the lower mainland of B.C., where I live, communities all over are closing multiple primary schools to the outrage of parents who will have to truck children to some distant school that will remain open. Immigration solves one problem, and the accompanying economic fallout a shrinking population would create, but it authors an eventual crisis down the road. Since politicians would get punted out of office for the economic reccession that would linger with shrinking numbers, they seem forced to open the immigration floodgates. So it seems Canadian voters are indirectly ensuring Canada's demise.
  4. Muslim students that want footbaths. Muslim taxi drivers that don't want to pick up certain fares. Muslim students that want to become doctors who treat some patients only. As Scott said, little by little our culture is being removed in the name of tolerance.
  5. Ahh Polynewbie, your oft entertaining kooky conspiracy theories at least kept things interesting. The 2008 race is starting to take shape with Hillary a front runner, something I never thought would happen several months ago. However, a story that broke quite recently is the huge cash donations coming from China town dishwashers, who are loving her to the tune of a tenth or so of their gross yearly salaries! How do you say 'money is being funnelled' in Chinese? (Sorry no links of yet, but it's on Drudgereport.)
  6. Wow, an interesting theory. It seems somewhat damaging though for Israel to tip its hand on their apparent superiority to these state of the art Russian systems. Why not just let Iran get comfortable thinking they can protect a nuclear reactor, go ahead and build one, then watch it get precision bombed. Although perhaps their possible overreaction to this would be a war starter. The middle east is a game of chess, except using real people.
  7. So funny. In Chretien's new book, he whines about just about everybody and reveals without meaning to that he is the greatest control freak of all time. He admits he stayed in office longer than he would have otherwise just to keep Martin out longer. This, and the civil war in the Liberal party that ensued are primarily responsible for today's disarray in the Liberal party. But there is also no one on the horizon who could bring the party back into respectibility, only time will do that, if they can quit the infighting and resignations long enough. In the meantime, the NDP and the Tories are both attracting former liberal voters and will continue to do so. And kens, there are plenty of people who want an election, just not liberal supporters. And you speak of 2 or 3 more years of Tory minority rule which would smash the old record of a minority government, which is HIGHLY unlikely. And if you really want to observe arrogence, read Chretien's book or just watch the Liberal party who still do not care for acting like an official opposition. Even Quebec is tired of the act, as the latest by-elections there show. Harper is playing this just about right, and since the Liberals are so weak, Harper should be able to either get much legislation passed or have an election called. But like I've said before, if Canadians need a while longer to be weaned from Liberal Dependancy Syndrome, so be it.
  8. Hey, you Bush haters need to keep your stories straight. Let me remind you, Gore WON the first election and Kerry won the second Bush mandate. Now go home and try to work up more bitterness.
  9. Good points, we have been too soft on these criminals for a long time. Canada is slowly waking up to the fact that crime pays quite well here and even with super lenient punishments our prisons are pretty much full. Next up, we need to add capacity to our prison system, something we haven't done in Canada for decades so we can throw the idiot criminals in the big house and actually provide a deterent to such present career options as drug dealing and the accompanying gun use that goes with it.
  10. How is omitting a person's sexual preference lying? Do you overreact ALL of the time? Someone's sexual preference in history (a guessing game the gay agenda love to make) is immaterial to the historic events they were involved with. By this standard, rewriting school books to include marriage status, how many times divorced, etc., as well as their favorite colour and food should also be added.
  11. To focus on only a select few is to ignore all others by comparison.
  12. So what are you going to do about it, hunt down the enemy? Charge him with wrongful behaviour? Or maybe just declare him an EC on a forum and bask in the accomplishment... Obviously, babybilly did not impress the lot of you since all of the comments were off topic. Me too.
  13. Why the hell should schools now be forced to portray certain lifestyles in a positive light while ignoring others? This teaches that certain lifestyles are better than others, which is the very thing they are trying to 'fix'. If you really think this simpleminded approach is going to solve predijuces kids may have, you are sadly mistaken. The qualifications of high school grads is at an all time low. Maybe they should spend less time on social engineering and more on actual teaching. BTW, bullying is just as wrong regardless of the culture or background of the kid being bullyed, teaching kids it's more wrong to bully gays is just as wrongheaded.
  14. zzzzzzzz.... This topic reminds me of the disaster in Africa after the dictator seized most of the farms which had been run by highly effective farmers who happened to have the wrong skin colour, and gave the farms to nationals who happened to know little about farming. Hiring people because of their skin colour or sex instead of their skills will cost much in the end. Let Norway do this and suffer the results.
  15. What's the longest minority government term ever? It seems to me the Tories are among the longest, and is directly related to the weakness of the Liberals. Whatever, give me my GST reduction and another year of Tory minority. If Canadians need to be further weaned from Liberal Dependency Sydrome and the idea of a *scary* Harper, so be it.
  16. Under the Any Other Ideas category, the Liberals campaigned under this, except for the party whip part, and won several elections with it. Only they weren't so green (ignoring the Kyoto treaty they signed until they lost power), or very fiscally conservative, so I think Canadians would tend to be highly suspicious of yet another party promising such things.
  17. Hi there, er, billy. You may not be aware, but usually when starting a thread, it's helpful to provide a link to the subject matter you are discussing. It gives readers a source with which to weigh your opinions and provide their own. Since I didn't watch Frontline last night, I would have to go with my experiences in general with the Frontline people, which is that the yellow journalism they produce and the raging GBS they are infected with prevents them from being trustworthy in matters political.
  18. So aside from that you agree with everything I've said? BTW, that is not dumping by any stretch. But if not bias, what do you attribute the several point difference to?
  19. Nonetheless, this translates into tangible gains for Harper, with much higher respect than at last election. Such a high rating can only be giving the liberals headaches seeing that stories about lists of Jews are having little effect.
  20. gc175, Because a) The Strategic council poll is consistantly friendly to the Liberals as the Ipos Reid is to Tories, so the actual truth is somewhere between the two, meaning gains for the Tories. The Tories now have a well respected election machine that would increase its popularity if an election were called. c) There has been a paradigm shift in Canada which has seen support for the Tories among movers and shakers grow. As well, even in the media, a strong minority cover them with objectivity, and some favourable, which all translate into gains during an election. d) The Liberals are weak and are back stabbing each other, what better time for an election from the Tories perspective.
  21. I tend to agree on how things could play out, and the Liberal brain trust must be getting quite a headache about now. If Dion brings about an election, it would be about par for him to blame Harper.
  22. This thread is nothing but another sad example of BDS.
  23. Uh, no, Gore wanted everyone in hybrid or electric cars, with paper made out of dirt and everyone reading by candlelight while he used enough power at his mansion to make a complete hypocrite out of himself. His goals would quite simple end our economies and bring about a depression the likes of which the world has never seen. All because the weather is changing, we must run for our lives? When mother nature begins the cycle of cooling off(which she has done at least twice in the last 100 years after warming up with accompanying level 5 hurricanes in the 30s and 60s), then Gore and his ilk will start warning of Global Cooling disasters. Oh wait., they've already started with the catch all phrase, 'climate change'. If some people want to swallow this pablum that is fine, but keep your 'religion' to yourself, because that's all it is. AM, I noted once already your criticism of the judge who noted 9 gaffs in Gore's movie, saying you don't think he's scientific enough. Apparently you think a failed politician(Gore) is.
  24. Champions of the environment, I don't think they are trying for that at all. They are marketing themselves as the reasonable approach perhaps, not as the 'sky is falling' NDP or the Liberal position of signing Kyoto or whatever agreement the Enrivo Cartel cooks up only to ignore it until they lose power. As far as the vote splitting idea, I wonder if it's not so much that the NDP and Green parties have made such huge strides in growing up into legitimate options, so much as the Liberal party screwed up so badly that people are leaving in droves. Some of those former Liberal voters are also turning to the Tories as well.
  25. Uh, you don't think that a judge is scientific enough, but of course a failed politician, namely Gore, is. Any documentarian who makes not one or two, but nine major gaffs is not worth listening to much less handing awards to. Add to the mix that Gore is quoted as saying it's okay to lie to people about Global Warming in order to get necessary changes made, and you have a snake oil salesman, which is pretty much what a failed politician is anyway.
