As the US produces more oil, Trump lets Putin off the hook so he can sell more oil, green technologies increase their share of energy production, the price of oil will very likely drop in the next few years, making new oil investment less attractive.

I think the pc's will win but what if it's a slim minority? Who would enter into a coalition with them? They'd have to move to the left to stay in power. They wouldn't be toppled right away but give it a year or so...

I agree - not the best way to run an economy, but it's a huge part of your budget every year and the money does create a lot of jobs and stimulate local economies. Be a lot of reps and sens complaining if factories start shutting down.
