  1. Between a rock and a hard place. How do we avoid pissing off at least one superpower? Is there a way we can play them off against each other, get them bidding against each other for our trade, instead of penalizing us? We have stuff each of them wants.
  2. Yeah he did. I mentioned it in another post. But he didn't care enough to tell his MAGA sheep it would save them and their loved ones lives. Even though he took it himself.
  3. Drink some bleach and shine a flashlight up your ass. Yeah, proportionate. The US has 10 times the population of Canada, which lost about 60,000 to Covid. So the US should have lost about 600,000. Instead they lost 1,200,000, 20 times as much. Thank Trump for that.
  4. Sound like a line from a 1942 British propaganda war film.
  5. Meanwhile, "Donald Trump’s insistence on playing golf at his Florida courses has now cost American taxpayers more than $18 million since he regained the presidency, setting him on a pace to exceed the $151.5 million he spent in his first term." But save $5 by not donating some life- saving drug to a poor kid in some "Shithole country".
  6. Maybe not, but read this: https://theconversation.com/how-trump-could-try-to-stay-in-power-after-his-second-term-ends-246722 Xi Jinping, Putin...Trump?
  7. And just to make things more complicated: "China announced tariffs of up to 100 percent on canola, pork and other foods from Canada on Saturday, in retaliation for Canada’s decision last August to collect steep taxes on imports of Chinese electric vehicles, steel and aluminum."
  8. Like Caligula who ordered his soldiers to attack the ocean by throwing spears into the water and collecting seashells as trophies. At least he had the excuse of being an inbred psychotic monster. Oh, wait...
  9. Apparently, that's all you have.
  10. Ok- this is confusing. I'm actually agreeing with CdnFox (of all people) on this one. I need a drink!
  11. I asked: "So do you think there are 2 classes of citizens, the ones he considers real and the other less worthy ones?" In what parallel universe is that not a question??????????????
  12. Maybe the first thing we've agreed on. There is hope.
  13. Twisted your argument? Read! I just asked you a question, which apparently you don't want to answer. You're doing the twisting. There are NOT two grades of citizenship. South Africa gave up Apartheid, Jim Crow laws are gone. Just 'cause he doesn't like someone's politics doesn't mean they aren't real citizens. And the insults he follows up with are childish.
  14. You gotta start spelling your username with 3 d's.
  15. You poor down-trodden white boy...
  16. Why did they leave? To increase the shareholder's profits. And while they may make promises or token gestures to "America First", they'll continue to go where the profits are.
  17. Damn, I need a GIA (Glossary of Initialisms and Acronyms).
  18. And yet more brilliant, compelling arguments. A citizen is a citizen is a citizen! Anyone can cherry pick incidents, but using them for blanket statements is the weakest argument there is. Your last statement isn't worth responding to.
  19. I stand corrected. Googling the question gives both yes and no.
  20. So do you think there are 2 classes of citizens, the ones he considers real and the other less worthy ones? "Real citizens". Those are his words.
  21. So citizens aren't citizens if you disagree with them? Remember, you're just talking about citizens, not immigrants. Who granted you this great power? More stupidity. Did Trump teach you that?
  22. I completely agree with this. But there's something so pervasive in us that it must be innate - the idea or feeling that "These days everything is broken", implying things were much better in the past. O tempore, o mores! as the Romans said. It's often a case of "2 steps forward, 1 step back", but I'm an optimistic atheist who believes things will continue to improve, even the environmental situation. (Seems like humans are prone to brinksmanship on serious problems.)
