Are the Democrats an Actual Cult?
Barquentine replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
https://www.epi.org/press/new-report-finds-that-the-economy-performs-better-under-democratic-presidential-administrations/ Annual real GDP growth is 1.2 percentage points faster during Democratic administrations than Republican ones (3.79% versus 2.60%). Total job growth has averaged 2.5% annually during Democratic administrations, while it is barely over 1% annually during Republican administrations. Applied to today’s total workforce, this would imply nearly 2.4 million more jobs created every year under Democratic administrations. The Democratic advantage is even larger in private job growth than it is for total job growth. Notably, business investment is higher during Democratic administrations, with investment growth running at more than double the pace than it does during Republican ones. Average rates of inflation—both overall and “core” measures that exclude volatile food and energy prices—are slightly lower during Democratic administrations. Families in the bottom 20% of the income distribution experience 188% faster income growth during Democratic administrations. -

https://www.belfercenter.org/publication/historical-puzzle-us-economic-performance-under-democrats-vs-republicans "Since World War II, Democrats have seen job creation average 1.7 % per year when in office, versus 1.0 % under the GOP. US GDP has averaged a rate of growth of 4.23 percent per annum during Democratic administrations, versus 2.36 per cent under Republicans, a remarkable difference of 1.87 percentage points. This is postwar data, covering 19 presidential terms—from Truman through Biden. If one goes back further, to the Great Depression, to include Herbert Hoover and Franklin Roosevelt, the difference in growth rates is even larger." "The last five recessions all started while a Republican was in the White House (Reagan. G.H.W. Bush, G.W. Bush twice, and Trump)." -

It's because of stupid shit like what you just said there that you're considered a cultist. https://www.jec.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/democrats/2024/10/the-u-s-economy-performs-better-under-democratic-presidents -
Liberal Party Takes Lead in Polls
Barquentine replied to TreeBeard's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So why does he only have 1% chance of even having a minority gov't? Canadians don't want him or racists like you. And you only said 'lefty liberal' 4 times. Maybe next time just cut and paste it 100 times since you apparently have nothing intelligent to say. -
For what will Joe Biden be best known?
Barquentine replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
$35 insulin The inflation Reduction Act ( which ironically helped red states more than blue) The Infrastructure bill (Republicans voted against it, then went home and took credit for the money it brought to their states) A great economy (despite inflation) that dickwad Trump is ruining. You guys enjoy your self-inflicted recession. -

Well I expected this. You're not man enough to admit you're wrong. "the new direction in America"= what Trump wants. So you try to weasel around it, and respond with lies and insults. You couldn't be Trumpier if you spray painted yourself orange. And for lack of imagination you called me kid. Ironic, because based on your debating skills, I'm about 60 years older than you. Another example of why you're not taken seriously. -

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/03/08/exclusive-canadian-premier-danielle-smith-trudeau-blew-tariff-negotiations-first-mar-a-lago-meeting/ "So I would hope that we could put things on pause is what I’ve told administration officials. Let’s just put things on pause so we can get through an election.” "the perspective that Pierre would bring would be very much in sync with, I think…the new direction in America,” she added. Less than 1 minute to find it. The link to the podcast is there too. But one thing I learned in University a lifetime ago is that any fool can cite and quote a lot of sources to make themselves look smart. Data isn't knowledge, knowledge isn't wisdom. Try thinking for yourself. It's very refreshing. -
Oh yeah, nobody's buying opiates for pain. By the way, you have a tell. You start calling people "kiddo" and bragging about how smart and right you are every time you don't have a valid point. But Sonny, you're never quite so stupid as when you're being 'smart'. In Canada people go to ERs and clinics because it's free. They don't always get what they want but those visits can be counted. When people don't go in the states they can't be counted. What ya' got there, 'Psychic Statistics', or just 'Alternate Facts'? Like I said before, you're just an amphigory. But if it makes you feel good about yourself, carry on with the therapy. I'm rootin' for ya' son!

As well as a higher rate of opiate deaths in the US, meaning more people self-medicating, not using the medical system.

That's the pattern. Republicans ruin the economy, Democrats repair. Then because it takes a few years for the turn-around, Republicans can blame it on the Dems to get re-elected. -
Proof? How do you get statistics for the US. A lot of poor people probably don't even bother trying to get care because they can't afford it. That won't show up in statistics. PS: I jumped the gun. Didn't see your statistics. However I stand by this post and don't believe the US statistics for the reason given.

Right. The Progressive-Conservative (forward-backward) party were a national party. The CPC are basically the Reform Party reborn - a regional party like the Bloc. And that's some bitter frustration you've got against the NDP. -

Starting to look like PeePee needs some kind of Aha! moment in the debates or some earth shaking, smoking gun reveal. Other than that, it's just getting worse each day for the Pcs. -
You can find these negative examples in the US as well. The best countries in the world are capitalist with social programs, even the US, though it lags behind on most metrics.

I and members of my family have had similar experiences with our health system. When it's immediately serious we get great medical care, at low expense.

Just had an idea. After Carney's call with Trump and Trump's apparent respect for him, could the Pcs flip the idea that Poilevre is too Trumpy, and Trump DOES actually want Carney to win ( which I don't believe for a moment)? I think it's too late and would actually backfire on the Pcs - they'd have to say it's bad to negotiate with the US. Food for thought. -
Mar 27, 2025 "One of the country's top Conservative strategists who just helped Ontario Premier Doug Ford win a sizable majority government says Pierre Poilievre urgently needs to make a pivot and start talking more about the issue voters care about most — the U.S. threat — or he risks losing the federal election. In an interview with CBC News, Kory Teneycke said only weeks ago Poilievre was on track to win a massive majority government, and now every major pollster in the country says it's the Liberals who are set to win big. If an election were held today, the Conservatives would lose, Teneycke said. He said it's because of U.S. President Donald Trump — and the Conservative Party's inadequate messaging around what it would do to try and stop his tariffs and annexationist threats. But it's not just that, Teneycke said, there's also a stylistic issue — the party's leader is just too "Trump-y" and he's got to make a change fast. Teneycke said Poilievre acts and sounds too much like the president, with his pet names for his political opponents ("Carbon tax Carney") and catchy sloganeering ("big beautiful bring it home tax cut"), and it's off-putting to voters the party needs to win. "It all sounds too Trump-y for a lot of voters," Teneycke said. Teneycke, who held senior roles under former prime minister Stephen Harper including director of communications before becoming a strategist at firm Rubicon, said Poilievre is "negative all the time" and it's "hard to be liked by the public" when you're like that." Why didn't I think of these things? Oh, wait - I did! Why didn't I post them somewhere? Oh, wait - I did! On this site! But I'm just a, oh how do you guys always put it?- a Woke Libby Leftard. What do I know? Tell you what: I'm old and wise enough to not predict an outcome this far out, but I will gloat a little over the moment. This schadenfreude is delicious!

Hello Hello Hello Hello.... Hey, FBCP, nice sound in your little echo chamber here. Yeah, PeePee's promising the world - low taxes, a nice house on a nice, street, flying cars, free beer. Even says we'll have a "proud flag" wlth "brave soldiers". First off, flags can't be proud (hint: they're inanimate). But if he means Canadians aren't proud of their flag and country now, why doesn't he come out and say it? And since he's implying our soldiers aren't brave now, why doesn't he come out and say that? (Hint: the answer rhymes with "Diesel Birds". And I know you guys are feeling down, but there's still a month to go. Lots of time for more pie-in-the-sky slogans and un-costed promises. I'm not counting my chickens yet. Cbc Poll Tracker March 27, 2025 The probability of the Liberals winning a majority is 69% The probability of the Liberals winning the most seats but not a majority is 19% The probability of the Conservatives winning the most seats but not a majority is 11% Probability of the Conservatives winning a majority is 1% Basically the same on 338. Have a nice day, if it's not too late.

Hello FBCP (Fan Boys of Creepy PeePee) You guys really need a lot of self-affirmation, don't you. Looks like some of you are on here 24/7. I was looking around the web, forums, boards and articles, and 2 words kept coming up when people talked about PeePee; cringe and creepy (especially when he smiles). Our version of Ron Desantis. "At a campaign stop Tuesday in Vaughan, Ont., Poilievre was asked whether he would cut the national dental-care and pharmacare programs — something that's been a popular point of attack among his opponents. "We will protect these programs and nobody who has them will lose them," Poilievre said. "We will make sure that nobody loses their dental care." He did not specify what he would do with the pharmacare program, which he has said previously he would end." Weasel words and non answers. Looks like a senior who applies for dental care next year might not get it if PeePee wins. You boys have fun.

Yeah, but it's more than that. The father's working hours, his attitude to his son's apparent lack of masculinity(soccer games), the mother's constant acquiescence to the father, bullying online and off, and the son's (like his father's) explosive anger. Great show, but they could have gotten a lot more in if they hadn't made every episode a single shot. A lot of time wasted watching someone walk up or dawn stairs. Definitely agree on the Andrew Tate comment!

A brain apperently. 🙄 nobody said you did, , Sure kid. 🙄 One cool thing about you, despite my expectations that you've absolutely maxed out your opportunities you always seem to find a new and exciting way to look a little more silly every day. So you're just a blatant liar. Not even a good one at that. Keep drinking. I'm done with you.
