You are dodging again... such cowardice. -
Pro-Hamas Rallies in Canada
impartialobserver replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It appears that the fervor on this topic has died down. Give it time.. it will flare back up. Lather, rinse, and repeat. -
I am genuinely not all that interested in the topic so it is not a willful ignorance. I simply have other topics that I choose to look at, explore, and analyze. However, according to types like you that must mean that I am willfully trying to dissuade others from the topic. Supposedly, I am trying to push it under the rug because of some deep seated shame. Pardon me while I laugh at your hollywood-esque assumptions. Feel free to keep dredging it up. No one is stopping you... especially not me. My point is that I am simply observing how society is moving on from it. BTW, when someone would tell me that they are not getting the jab.. my reaction was a shrug of the shoulders. Or if they got the vax.. again, a shrug of the shoulders. Next topic.

I think you would be blown away about how many were largely indifferent. Of course, when a story is in the news every hour of every day.. you will form an opinion. However, their desire to simply move on is pretty clear. You are a terrible poker player. You claim that you are calmly discussing it but then launch into ad hominem attacks. This tells me that you are not as rational as you pretend to be.

Can you explain how? You think that I can actually control the actions of other adults.. that is funny.

What they fail to realize is that most (not all) folks simply wanted the covid saga to be over. As soon as it was... they discarded that not so great time and moved on. Some (these 5 or 6 posters) want retribution or revenge. Hence, why they keep dredging it up in hopes of their enemies capitulating and telling them what they want to hear. Good luck with that is all I have to say.

How will their acceptance or indifference come back to bite them? I am one of those that you describe. If i had a neighbor that was gay.. I could not care less what they do in their home. As long as they do not harm me directly (physically or financially).. they are free to live their lives as they choose. Guess what? I expect the same standard applied to me.

No matter how crazy or not crazy someone is... much like you, I do not interrupt and start telling them how they should feel about a topic. Last summer, took my kids to Yerington, NV and some guy was going on about Bigfoot. I just kept walking by even though I wanted to tell him that there is zero evidence of this creature.

Another indication that the world is moving on. The last of the PUA (unemployment insurance for non-covered employees) cases was closed and that puts an end to it. NV was the last state to have one. As for mandates, the current governor effectively ended the possibility of them coming back. His primary issues are diversifying the economy and affordable housing.

You dodge again... 3rd time. Its pretty simple.. you could just show some character and acknowledge reality. There were multiple SROs at Sandy Hook.. did not prevent that shooting. So when something does not happen for 100+ years.. you would continue to use resources to prevent it... rationality is not your strong suit. By your logic... we should demand that building be earthquake proof in Cavalier, ND.. It could happen, has not in 10,000+ years but it could... NMSU could win a national championship in college football so lets start planning that parade. -
Like it or not.. the younger generation is more tolerant and accepting of LGBTQ and such. That reality does not demand the approval of anyone on here. It is as immutable as the temperature outside or that the Boston Celtics lead the NBA finals 3 games to zero over the Dallas Mavericks. Secondly.. the younger generation is also who makes up the majority of population in the urban core of the larger cities where the parades are held.

As always, you dodge simple questions. Explain why there are no school shootings in Pershing County, NV... I know why you can't answer this. Life is situational.. inglewood, ca vs. Clark County, ID. I know to you there are exactly one in the same. To a more honest and realistic person, the two locales are very different and therefore the need for an SRO differs. I know that you can't comprehend the difference. -

It happens with male athletes who have a far greater audience. Steph curry is a fine example. When asked by most who is the best player in the league or biggest star.. his name rarely comes up -

Your analogy fails.. driving and attending school are not the same. When you drive, you are mostly in control of the outcome. School shootings are far more random... Mitigate risk.. that assumes that there is risk to begin with. So explain why there are zero school shooting in Pershing county, NV... It should be pretty simple. -

Its implied... You are predicting that it will happen sometime in the future. If so.. care to give an exact date and time? -

And you think that you can predict this... That is comedy at its finest. -
At least in the US, a gay pride parade is a first amendment issue. If you bar it from existing.. that is a blatant first amendment violation. Some will say that it is pornography but that is not true in most cases. Unless they are nude and/or performing the sex act... there is no crime being committed as per the law.

It is washoe county school district (northern nevada). So then why are there are so few shootings and yet no deterrent. You can expand the geography to all of northern nevada along with eastern oregon and you find zero shootings (besides the two exceptions in Reno). Its all situational. If this was south central LA.. different story. There is a demonstrated need that one can back up with data. Pershing county, Nevada.. no demonstrated need. -

She is the lead story now because it is the NFL offseason, there is no college football, the NBA finals is not the most compelling, and it is the doldrums of the MLB season. When she is no longer novelty.. her star will fade. Her play will improve but the bump that she gives WNBA ratings will decline. -

Hmmm... reading comprehension fails you again.. I have specified the geography a number of times.... If this was Inglewood, CA.. different place, different story. I know that is too complex for you. Exceedingly rare and random events can't be predicted... at least I can admit to that. -

Case by Case as I said. You honestly think that by putting an SRO in every school that you would prevent what is exceedingly rare already. Well.. practicality and rationality are not your strong suits. what is your explanation then for when there is no SRO and has never been and yet there have been no shootings (attempted or followed through). Oh... and these schools with zero shootings are not all are in rural country. Most of which are in the city limits.
