Families and communites were torn apart completely by how the feds handled covid - those will never be resolved. A peaceful protest had the emergency act called on it. IT was never even ruled illegal as a protest by a judge. Th first nations spent a good hunk of last year ripping down statues and burning churches. Get along? The problem is the NDP is taking a beating too and won't be excited about the idea of rising their already reduced seat count. If the ndp was picking up the lib vote it would be different but Not only is that not happening but they're bleeding to the CPC! So they really won't want to go to the polls. The greens will be picking up a little bit of the protest vote out there right now. It's not out of range for them historically.

There is truth to the idea that the political spectrum is not a line, it's a horseshoe with the totalitarian ends coming very close to each other. But one of the distinguishing features of right vs left wing politics is generally speaking in order to be realized left wing politics NEEDS a degree of authoritarianism to work - whereas right wing doesn't nearly as much. And the whole nazi model is a near eact copy of the idea of market socialism or 'democratic socialism' today. A market economy with VERY strict gov't control over the market in order to focus it on the perceived needs of 'society'. For the nazi's that was expansionism through military adventure whereas now its more about climate change and such but it's the same model.

there is no such thing as "Safe Drug" supplies for these people. The whole premise is based on the idea that they will prefer weaker drugs to stornger drugs and will make good decisions with their lives. Neither of those things is true. So they sell the weaker drugs to school kids and use the money to buy harder drugs and die. Trying to stop that is like trying to stop the tide coming in with your hands. The experiment has failed, as it was predicted it would. All we can really do is make sure there's lots of rehab opportunity and support and let those who want to actually save thier own lives take advantage of that and let those who don't die.

There's another weird difference as well - with china we KNEW what they did, they found proof of what happened and that information was shared to the public in a limited way and the opposition could see it (after a fight). An investigation had been completed. And the liberals still ignored it. In this case they've provided no evidence, have admitted that whatever they do have only suggests they may have been involved and isn't a smoking gun, the investigation is still underway, we haven't worked with our allies behind the scenes to get them on board. So we can't even be reasonably sure India actually did anything at this point. Why? Why announce it when we can't back it up? After we let the other one slide for years after we knew for sure. That kind of inconsistency creates all sorts of problems.

I think that's probably true. Further i think that while man probably does have an impact, that will change over time as we develop better tech in a natural and organic fashion. And in the meantime if there's tech that helps a little lets do it - solar power is cheap so adding that to our power mix is a good idea. But trying to replace oil with solar is stupid.
