There's plenty enough mainstream studies that show that. Carlson wasn't the problem. The internal stuff shows he was against continuing to promote stories that seemed ridiculous. As you noted, suing news media is very hard. It's not enough that their stories hurt you. Or that they turned out to be untrue. you have to demonstrate they knowingly and deliberately lied. Carlson pointing out in texts and emails that the story was clearly false put Fox in a position where they weren't successful just saying they were reporting the news or repeating others. But i doubt many other places will be dumb enough to keep records of that now.
