  1. Just like people who are black who were born in America 200 years after slavery ended can't explain why they deserve reparations today. And you may not have heard this but there were actually some things that were done by European people more recently than 3,000 years ago
  2. Well you lose $10 and you get a smack in the head cuz I was very specific. You yourself said it's only 120 for the FED debt I know English and math aren't your strong suits but for god's sake, how dumb do you have to be to accuse me of something that I actually addressed dead on The states don't carry the kind of debt our provinces do. There are a number of reasons for that. Remember that the number one cost provinces is medical coverage and the Americas just don't have that same cost burden. And one of the largest expenses to the federal government is the military and we don't spend anywhere near what they do. Now it can get a tiny bit complicated like I said to calculate all of the state amounts and compile it and most people don't bother because it is a smaller amount but the figure I gave It's pretty close Every time I think it might be worth having an intelligent conversation with you you wind up behaving like a complete jackass like this. So now that you know you were being dumber than a stump, getting back to the conversation we are in pretty damn bad shape and while the US is definitely in worse they have a little bit of wriggle room because of the nature of their economic status
  3. I don't think they can get their heads around the idea that it's as bad as it is. And before they even get there they convince themselves that somehow harper/ p / any conservative would be worse
  4. That was the plan for the last 11 years and it hasn't worked out terribly well
  5. Michael Jackson would like to see you outside for a minute.....
  6. Come on, even you had to know Connie was bullshiting about going somewhere else for jets. Trump would never let him
  7. That may very well be true but You can't offer that as evidence that controversy got him elected. Literally every political figure is controversial, god knows Kamala Harris and the whole incident surrounding biden was extremely controversial. It's fair if you want to say that trump is a controversial figure but you can't say that he was elected by controversy. Or the like And saying what people wanted to hear is kind of the opposite of controversy I don't want to put words in your mouth so correct me if I'm wrong but perhaps you didn't mean so much that he was winning it through controversy, perhaps what you meant would be more accurately described as he's very disruptive and the disruption is what gave him appeal. He does tend to take the accepted norms and throw them out the window, and there was a lot of people who felt especially in his first term that American politics weren't working anymore and they needed someone who would come in and kick over all the tables and all the ant hills and force restructuring. Even if what he was doing wasn't terribly controversial doing it in a brutal and direct fashion and getting immediate results is very disruptive and many people felt that's what was necessary And that certainly explains his win the first time, but to be honest this time I think he just looked like the least bad candidate. Kamala was a complete disaster and more importantly it's a disaster put forward by a democrat party that very obviously and deliberately had been backing a president who had lost his mental faculties and hid that from the public. So there were trust issues
  8. It's not the time yet. The NDP is going to need at least half a year to get organized, Poilievre has barely had time to switch gears from appealing to the base to thinking about appealing to Canadians in general and carney hasn't spent enough time failing yet. People are still blowing off his failures as "Oh he hasn't even finished a year". They need a little more time for it to sink in how bad a decision they made. Going at the wrong time could very well give them the chance to walk away with the majority. His record is already starting to get bad and it's going to get worse every year. This time in the fall he'll have really no excuses as to why there are no pipelines, why CUSMA fell apart, why nobody can afford food or rent, why the economy sucks so bad. But right now he can still play the "I just got here" game
  9. Good morning little guy! Woke up cranky again? I imagine you didn't get much sleep with the noise of your "underprivlidged" mom with the "Mental disorder" as you put it 'Entertaining" her clients all night. Hey, those diapers you wear aren't cheap, money's got to come from somewhere Then why didn't he get his security clearance when he was the official opposition? Game set and match jr It's what he does. He obsesses. You get used to it after a bit. He thinks of me as the daddy that 'went out for smokes' 12 years ago and never came back, it's possible he thinks of you as a mommy figure that actually pays attention to him rather than just to other men. Teens need their moms after all.
  10. Yeah but they have a history of getting a little more tough when they haven't got food. The problem is the older people all have pensions or some species of security and like I said economic downturns don't tend to impact them as much. But a lot of them are fixed income and they are watching those grocery prices rise. Some will be bought off with the GST checks but others realize that's a limited time thing
  11. Well that's what you get when you hire a captain who thinks that anchors balance themselves. Sadly, no . As of late 2024–2025, Canada’s total consolidated government gross debt (including federal, provincial, territorial, and local governments) is estimated to be between 107% and 113% of GDP. This puts Canada in the top tier of indebted G7 nations, with a total debt burden that has risen significantly over the last decade. Many economists have written that the "event horizon' for such debt is between 100 and 120 percent. after which recovery becomes severely difficult. The exception is japan for various reasons but most feel their day is coming pretty quick too. This is why the PBO said that we're at 'the breaking point' and much more and 'things are going to break and stop working" the way they should. The us total is somewhere around 140 (a little harder to measure.) Which would be crippling to anybody else but because they're an anchor economy and an anchor currency the impact is lessened But even so you can see in their economy where this is already beginning to have an impact. Now we've got a triple threat to deal with. Our own debt to gdp is getting very close to crippling us. That severely impacts our economy. The us, our biggest trading partner, is also hurting their economy with debt and that will wind up impacting us because they're our biggest trading partner. And then we've got the tariff threat and you can bet. that as the us economy slows in the future (and at some point it will, it always does) then we'll feel that pinch even more as the us turns to 'buy america' even harder. They always do in a downturn. Harper spent his time getting new trade deals, more than any other prime minister. Justin added none of consequence and actually lost a few, and the one harper deal that was 4/5th done when he took over he screwed up so it's of little value to us anyway.
  12. Obviously. To a degree and as i mentioned there is a limit but if you are a global anchor currency, as the us dollar is it does give you a lot more latitude than countries would normally have. But it can't last forever, any more than our own debt can which is getting pretty horrible.
  13. It isn't. It's still a world economy anchor currency. No drag. They are well set This isn't going to turn into a danforth vs bruce argument is it
  14. This was the entire idea behind obama's intersectional coalition. Get every minority to believe that straight white male people and those who love them are all their common enemy and they should band together to fight them And that only the democrats would ever help with that Basically it was to stir everybody up and get as many people as possible angry about as many divisions as possible and weaponize that to win an election
  15. You think you're Canadians want an election right now? I think that the voters might punish the hell out of him for that which is why he's reluctant. The problem is he sucks at his job and the longer he waits the worse it gets.
  16. Going to the island is no proof of wrongdoing and woudn't be reason to resign. But - as i understand it and i could be wrong but he insisted previously that he HADN'T gone there during the time periods involved. And for that he should resign. If he lied about it and was actively going there at a time he said he wasn't then that's an issue of credibility and ethics and he should step down
  17. I know and 40 angles got their wings and for that shining brief moment there was world peace and no hunger But in a month people won't be able to afford food or shelter. The problem is that the majority of liberal voters are actually retired and or older gov't workers right now and they're not impacted by the change in economy the same way younger people are. So they think everything is fine.
  18. Those are legitimate risks. Make no mistake, I am against quantitative easing generally speaking. And there are many legitimate things to criticize about the current economic policy, but what you said before was inaccurate. Which is great but the effect of those markets are controled through quantitative easing, And as I pointed out those people are still buying lots of bonds or the bond interest rates would be going up. Well that's always the million dollar question. It's one a fair number of countries are asking themselves right now The US is an anchor economy. That's going to let the Americans get away with a lot more than other countries would be able to in that regard. But the obvious answer is not forever. The theory that trump seems to be operating under is that he will somehow supercharge the economy to the point where tax revenues will shoot up and there will be no need to worry about the deficit because the budget will balance itself. We had a guy like that running Canada for the last 10 years and it caused problems 😁 Time will tell if trump is correct or not. The economy is doing fairly well under him but not well enough to justify the amount of money he's borrowing currently, Eventually something will have to be done about that No I just know what I'm talking about and I know what you were talking about is nonsense. As I have said there are significant issues that are legitimately worth criticizing about trump's current policies but the ones you brought up were not real I would point out that if you were to go back and look at my comments in February and March I was the one suggesting that by this time I expected to see the economy actually and slightly worse condition and inflation slightly higher than it is right now because I felt his policies would be a drag on the economy more than they have been. So it's not like I've been cheering him on.
  19. It's so ingrained into them they don't even realize what they're saying. I don't think it's occurred to him that he just admitted to being a racist
  20. You're the one that called your mother unprivileged and with a mental disorder. That wasn't me kiddo Maybe don't say your mom has a mental disorder if you don't want people to talk about her mental disorder. I mean it must be pretty bad if even you are talking about it Talking about your mom again? I know you've said previously that she let your father do inappropriate things with you but this weird passive aggressive attacks on her while attempting to defend her are just odd Although it does explain why you're so messed up
  21. Carney, Ford discussed idea of an early federal election to secure majority, sources say - The Globe and Mail So that lying sack of crap Carney indeed was thinking about going to the polls and getting his majority and Doug Ford was supporting him. And l love the whole "i totally think carney should go to the polls and get a majority but please don't think that means i'm endorsing him" routine. The liberals are going to do whatever it takes to try and lock in 4 years where they don't have to be accountable.
  22. BTW with regards to those trips: Mark Carney billed taxpayers $94K for in-flight catering on one single trip
  23. Not really. Dishonesty and getting busted for it played a huge role in the sense that the democrats got caught with Biden but controversy itself didn't get trump elected
