Sadly family annihilators and mass killers very often begin with suicide thoughts I read an interesting paper by an expert in mass killings of this nature who studied cases all over the world very interesting conclusions. There were four things that were necessary for someone to become like this and I'm not sure I can remember them all but one of them was to have the firm belief that there is no hope. Things will not get better. One of the others was a firm belief that your circumstances are somebody else's fault. Republicans trump's parents friends whatever it's necessary that you don't take personal ownership of your circumstance And the third was they have to feel isolated. I can't remember the other one off the top of my head but what I do remember is that the person was very clear that if you break any one of those items you don't get homicidal suicidal killers. So with a predisposition already to the kind of homicidal suicidal thoughts that lead to this if a young trans person is also told that they're happiness is due to other people such as trump or the evil right-wing who all hate them etc and they lose faith that things will get better they could very well wind up in the circumstance. And they feel isolated This could have been prevented with even a little bit of mental health treatment i would bet.

We don't even know for sure that this person is left wing. And I don't recall ever warning you that left wing people were going to shoot up schools. Well I tend to care about the fact that a bunch of people just got killed, and that there's real problems to deal with. I know that it's not the same for you. As we have seen many times when you talk about terrorism you don't give a flying fig that right now there's a 12-year-old girl laying in a hospital fighting for her life for the bullet hole in her head. You're absolutely fine with that as long as it suits your politics. But I tend to look at real solutions in this sort of circumstance. I know there are real problems with people insisting that we're not allowed to question transgender people in the slightest and that makes me wonder if we're not leaving the door open for mental health issues to go untreated as we have seen several times in recent history. I know that doesn't interest you. You only care about your politics. Perhaps you think the young girl was Jewish and had it coming. But that's the difference between us.

And the reason that they didn't attract civilian money was because of the regulatory environments that prevent the harvesting and sale of the goods it would pass through the ports as well as interfering with the construction of the ports itself. Right now the business case has to be so amazingly stunningly incredibly unrealistically good in Canada to justify spending that kind of money that nobody is interested. Businesses have come right out and said it and plain language There is no resolving this unless governments get out of the way, and not only that but the industries have to be convinced that they're going to stay out of the way. Okay well if you're sure then we'll just carry forward assuming that the problem is left when ideology and their support of trans people. Never really pegged you for anti-trans but, you always surprise I don't remember warning anybody that trans people were going to go around shooting up schools? That may have been the voices in your head. You can sometimes get them confused with us. Well the challenge that I think we've run into in dealing with these issues he's trying to bury the fact that transgenderism is at the end of the day a mental health issue. In most cases, not all but most, Transgenderism is accompanied by gender dysphoria. It goes hand in hand as much as some people would like to break it apart. Gender dysphoria is a very serious mental health condition and it's more complicated than some people today like to think. So what happens right now is if somebody expresses feelings of gender dysphoria the medical community simply says oh no problem we'll put you in a skirt and your problems are solved, there you're a girl now. I'll give you a few shots and grab my scissors and you won't be a man anymore no problem. But that does not effectively treat the mental health issue, but if you dare to question or treat somebody or look into their gender too much then you are severely attacked and possibly in prison. So the solution I guess is reality. It is not mentally healthy for a boy to want to be a girl. That's a sign that something is wrong. It may be that the best solution is to not worry about it and just let them be a girl, but we have to have the right and the mental courage to seriously question if the person is just transgender or is suffering from gender dysphoria and come up with alternate treatments. Because there's a lot of people just found out, you can still work a gun pretty well wearing a skirt

Not in canada. The research is really bad. They acknowledge that immigrants are found guilty of and incarcerated more often but claim that is due to 'overpolicing' and systemic racism and such. But the crimes are still real. So their argument is that the problem isn't that they commit more crimes but that they are more likely to be caught for crimes they commit. But their evidence of that is unbelievably shaky. Further they tend to mix the immigrant stats in with areas of low immigration, different areas in canada have different crime rates so you can hide the facts if you blend it all together. or you can focus very carefully on areas with low immigration and that's not reasonable either. If you just look at the same geographic regions tho it's a different story. What we DO know is that depending on location and such if you compare similar population centers you see higher conviction rates for immigrants. The 'systemic' argument really hasn't been convincingly made yet. The left is the wrong wing

With the shooter dead getting to the why is going to be really hard. We don't do enough to promote mental health in this country although we're certainly better than a lot of others. It'll probably take a better part of a week for all the details to come out and before we can get a clear picture. But I agree with you that trying to get to the bottom of why this happened trying to prevent it in the future is critical. There were probably signs, but the people around this person probably didn't know what they were looking for or how to deal with it if they saw something concerning I don't know that this person transitioned yet. They only came out two and change years ago, it's possible that they started hormone therapy but that's not clear. It's actually an interesting question.
