Trump going to lose his shirt in NY
Rebound replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
There is already a verdict: Trump is guilty of civil fraud. Thats already determined. All that remains is the amount of damages he must pay. Just because you believe the convicted fraudster doesn’t mean nobody was damaged. Deusche Bank is probably keeping a very cool public image of their relationship because it would harm them to admit that they fell for his fraudulent behavior. But the truth is that they have cut off their relationship with Trump, and it is because he defrauded them. -
Admit that you do not know the meaning of the word “Emolument.” (Hint: It does not mean “gift”).

No, not one bit. You are lying and you know it. Let’s start with this: People are legitimately concerned that the twice-impeached, four-time criminal indictee will break the law and abuse his power. So Hannity handed Trump a softball question: “You aren’t going to abuse your power, right?” And the man said that he will. That is what he said. He’s the only Presidential candidate who’s ever run for office threatening to jail his opponent. He has clearly said that he will pardon the Jan 6 criminals. He said he will seek revenge over his political rivals. No amount of your mis-quoting and lying changes any of that. Pick a different candidate; one who can do the job without breaking the law 91 times.

Trump has been frequently mentioning Al Capone in his recent speeches. Here’s one: ”Al Capone, he was one of the greatest of all time…” (1:45 in the linked video). At 2:42 in the video, Trump states that he will abuse power and become a dictator the first day he’s elected President. I know you’re gonna do your little MAGA bullshlt dance and claim that you have a super-power which lets you know what Trump really meant. But he said what he said, and when a man says Al Capone was one of the greatest of all time and that he will be a dictator and abuse his power starting on the first day of his Presidency… I believe that. Cause when someone tells you he’s the devil, believe it https://youtu.be/AHhLlAvXp9w?si=020gf--_YKhCAn9s

I get it. You pretend you’re a lawyer. Trump’s hero, Al Capone, was convicted for tax fraud. Are you going to tell us that Al Capone was a good man? No, he ordered murders. But criminals are criminals. They break lots of laws, lots of times. So tax evasion is what they managed to convict him him for. Jack Smith chose to indict Trump on just four charges related to January 6, because he didn’t want a case that would drag on for years. He picked the low hanging fruit which was most likely to get a conviction. That’s how the law works. You guys are all a bunch of liars. January 6 was an effort to keep Trump in office. It was organized by Donald Trump, based on a Big Lie. The election was not stolen; no matter how many times Trump says. He lost. And if there was fraud, there are legal ways to get recounts, audits, investigations, and lawsuits. And Trump had them all and lost. You don’t get to incite a riot and threaten the lives of Congressmen because you lose your election. It was criminal and over 200 people are in prison because of it.

First, when Trump makes $7.8 million from foreign governments while President, you excuse it. Second, when Hunter Biden makes far less money, you make a big deal about it. To be clear, Trump violated the Constitution’s emoluments clause by receiving money from foreign governments while he was in office. Plain and simple. Pay Attention: The Emoluments Clause says that RECEIVING the money is not allowed, PERIOD. Does not matter if President does any favors in return. But Hunter Biden did not break a law by accepting work with Burisma per se, and that’s the only alleged crime you boneheads have come up with. The rest is pure speculation. For the millionth time: I don’t give a fck about Hunter Biden. If he did break a law, he can go to jail. I didn’t vote for him! He isn’t a government official! Got it? If there’s evidence of crime, the prosecutor will charge him. No crime has been tied to Joe Biden. Your big “evidence” is that Dad made four car payments for his son, who paid Dad back. And Dad calls his son on the phone. WTF? So weak!

Hunter Biden was not an Officer of the United States. Donald Trump was.

The voters will cancel him. Again. He’s losing New Hampshire. If Trump is nominated, Biden will play Jan 6 footage every single day until November. -

Biden beating Trump in latest PA poll. -
If we peel away all of the innuendo and rely only on facts, we have these: Domestic and foreign leaders sought to ingratiate themselves with Trump by staying at this properties, and Burisma sought to bolster their global reputation by putting the son of a US Vice President on their Board of Directors. The Royal Family of Saudi Arabia gave Jared Kushner $2 billion to manage on their behalf, which pays an annual commission of several million dollars. Let’s say there was nothing else to it; that none of these three cases involved a quid pro quo. I don’t approve of any of this. These three events occurred only because of the government offices involved.. The Constitution specifically forbids the President (and other Officers, such as the VP) from accepting any “emolument.” Although this does not pertain to the relatives of the President, it is inappropriate conduct and should not be permitted.

The Democrats are not “the enemy,” that’s really your problem. Senator Menendez is a Democrat. He has been charged with very serious crimes. I don’t see any democrats racing to defend him, beyond a few of his close friends. But Congress took forever to do anything about Santos, even though it was obvious that the man was a criminal and a fraud. What did Enrique Tarrio do? He organized an attempted insurrection against the US government, specifically a violent attack.

Correct. I listed what the prosecution did not say. There are several preposterous points I’d like to refute: The notion that it is “genocide” or a war crime to retaliate militarily as a response to acts of war executed by Hamas. This has never, ever, ever been an argument against warfare. It is absurd. The argument is that Hamas is “allowed” to kill all the Jews they want, with impunity, because any retaliation would mean causing harm to innocent Palestinian civilians. Essentially, if the Court rules that Israel has no right to defend themselves, then the Court is ruling that Hamas is allowed to murder all they want and cannot be punished unless it can be done without harming anybody else. The history of war is the history of bad leaders causing the deaths of their civilian populations. Napoleon, Kaiser Wilhelm, Hitler, Mussolini, and on and on. When a nation is lead by someone who wages war on another nation, it will likely lead to civilian deaths. There are no “magic smart bombs” that magically kill only bad guys. If there were, Israel would use them. The charge ignores the October 7 attacks and the fact that Hamas still holds over 100 Israeli hostages. “It’s ok to take hostages; Hamas is allowed to do that” is a poor argument. The fact that Hamas deliberately maximizes Palestinian civilian casualties. Example: Israel delayed their invasion by two weeks, so that they could give the Palestinians time to evacuate from the North. Hamas, at that time, ordered Palestinian civilians to not evacuate. A vast tunnel system was found beneath a hospital, and weapons including automatic weapons and rockets have been found stored in kindergartens and other civilian locations. Hamas has refused a call for ceasefire and has instead stated that they will fight until Israel is destroyed. Ending combat opens the door for further rocket attacks by Hamas. War is terrible. But throughout the history of war, innocent civilians die. When you read of the US attack on Houthi rebels, don’t you know that some civilians were killed in the process? When America attacked Iran and Afghanistan and Libya, didn’t innocent civilians get killed? When America bombed Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, didn’t 100,000’s of innocent civilians get killed? This is the terrible result of all warfare. SO TELL ME WHY ONLY JEWS ARE PROHIBITED FROM DEFENDING THEIR NATION? ONLY JEWS.
-
Because the prosecutor’s side is absurd. The prosecution argues that nations have no right to defend themselves against attack, if they are a Jewish nation. Prosecution argues that bombs used in warfare must magically kill only uniformed combatants, if they are used by a Jewish nation. Prosecution does not argue that Hamas has refused ceasefire. Prosecution does argue that a ceasefire was in place until October 7, 2023. Prosecution does not argue that Hamas uses civilians as human shields. Prosecution does not argue that Hamas ordered civilians to remain in place after Israel ordered their evacuation.

Oooh…. Riiiight… it’s MAGA. Everything has a secret definition. We have our own alternate facts, our own definitions of everything. Up means Down and Down means Up. Being the “most transparent President ever” means not releasing tax returns you promised to release, and not releasing White House visitor logs which all former Presidents routinely released. cause MAGA bullshlt.

Yeah, I don’t think excuses such as questioning whether the gallows was high enough or the rope thick enough would hold up against a violent crowd chanting “Hang Mike Pence.” Pretty threatening. Not to mention… it’s not a rope hanging from a tree. There were steps and a platform. It took a fair amount of lumber and tools to slap that thing together. It was planned.

This is fascinating, and perhaps a first: A nation is on trial for going to war after being attacked. Israeli lawyers made a well reasoned defense, for instance: “In Israel’s defense on Friday, its lawyers said that the Israeli military had worked to preserve civilian life, giving noncombatants two weeks to leave northern Gaza before Israel invaded the area in late October and, after freezing aid delivery at the start of the war, later enabling its daily supply. “Israel’s efforts to mitigate the ravages of this war on civilians are the very opposite of intent to destroy them,” Galit Raguan, one of the six representatives, said during the hearing. “If Israel had such intent, would it delay a ground maneuver for weeks, urging civilians to seek safer space and, in doing so, sacrificing operational advantage?” Ms. Raguan asked. “Would it invest massive resources to provide civilians details about where to go, when to go, how to go, to leave areas of fighting?” “Israel’s lawyers argued that it would set a dangerous precedent if the judges ordered Israel to halt its offensive. They said that could allow international law to be used as a means of preventing states from defending themselves against terrorist attacks committed by groups like Hamas. The Israeli lawyers also said it was Hamas that was guilty of genocidal acts on Oct. 7, and they blamed the group for bringing destruction on civilians in Gaza by embedding their fighters in residential areas. Heavy symbolism hung over the proceedings, as Israel’s representatives addressed the paradox of Israel, a state created to protect Jews from genocide, standing accused of the same crime. “For some, the promise of ‘never again for all peoples’ is a slogan,” said Tal Becker, who opened Israel’s defense. “For Israel, it is the highest moral obligation.” Source: https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/01/11/world/israel-hamas-houthi-yemen-news/israel-presents-its-defense-against-claims-of-genocide-in-gaza

Trump going to lose his shirt in NY
Rebound replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Hey dum dum, you just cited the same article I cited. I’m not gonna let you do your usual bullshlt on this. You said that a jury wasn’t used in this type of trial because it was not a criminal trial. I posted the link from CBS News, which explained that, yes, Trump’s lawyers never objected to the motion to make it a non-jury trial, but the judge said it didn’t matter, he would not have allowed a jury because the damages are “disgorgement,” and not “damages.” Then you posted the same link from CBS. And said that I was wrong.
