Trump shot at his own rally

It's 850 square feet. That's half the size of my two-bedroom bungalow so I don't think you can hold many large dinner parties for the New York business elite there. Think of the money spent as just an investment. It isn't gone. It's just in the form of a great piece of downtown real estate that we now own.

Just click the link you posted and click 'property features'. Honestly, man, if you thought a place like that in midtown would go for $315k you don't know anything about property costs in New York. I couldn't even buy a place like that in Ottawa for $315k As for COOPs, I believe it means you own a share of the property but not the property itself. And to repeat, this guy represents Canada and will need a place for entertaining. Which means it has to be central, not out in the boondocks of the Bronx or Queens. Entertaining is one of the main things diplomats do. They entertain, and exchange gossip and talk about deals and problems over wine and dinner. More is accomplished at dinner parties than over a boardroom table. And remember, we own the place. It's not like we can't just resell it at some point and get the money and a profit back,

LOL. I knew it! All the strange, rambling speeches and screwed-up introductions and weird assed tweets and you still think the guy has all his faculties! -
And people who live in the cities? They're not surrounded by farms and their homes are not designed to work or be heated without electricity. You'd be surprised how desperate and violent people would get when starving. Or worse, when their kids are starving. The locals would have a hard time farming themselves. All their farming equipment has electronic and computer components that no longer work. Which means their farming equipment doesn't work. And if they don't have horses and an old-fashioned plow they're done for. They also rely on big trucks to bring them fertilizer, hay, etc. No way to call for help if there's a fire, or someone has a heart attack or someone is breaking into your house.

I didn't 'justify' it. I even admit that politicians on both sides lie and that the liberal media puts out a slanted news picture. That's the difference between you and me. You believe your side is pure as the driven snow when the American right-wing media are utterly, utterly dishonest about everything they cover politically and socially. Nothing better describes its level of honesty and integrity than Tucker Carlson spending five years praising Trump as the messiah and then saying in private texts, “We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights. I truly can’t wait. I hate him passionately. ... I can’t handle much more of this." Talk about a hypocrite! And let's not forget “We’re all pretending we’ve got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it’s been is too tough to digest,” he wrote in another text message, referring to the “last four years.” “But come on. There isn’t really an upside to Trump.”

Trump shot at his own rally

I'm only on the Left to people who are on the Right of Hitler. Or at least holding his hand. Yeah, that hasn't exactly been a secret. It also hasn't been a secret that Trump does too. But I bet you and your far-right blogosphere never talk about it and won't admit it. -
Yeah, and there's no food. No way to heat your home in the winter. No transportation unless you can steal a horse before someone kills it for food. No communications. Guns still work, though, so it would be survival of the fittest like Road Warrior, with gangs of killers roaming the land looking to steal whatever food they can get.

Trump himself has said the exact same thing about the Democrats. And there is a difference between what someone says in a tweet or on facebook or to an interviewer looking for a sound bite, and what you say in a rabble-rousing speech to people about to head over to Congress. Besides, his speech was only a small part of his election denialism, and includes his attempts to get his VP to ignore the constitution,to get fake electors to vote for him, to pressure the Georgia Secretary of State to 'find' him a few thousand more votes, and a continuous bombardment of accusations across every medium that the election had been stolen. Doubt that's true. At least, if you want to make it any comment by any member of the Democratic party we'll have to invite the Republican cranks in alongside Trump. -
It is different in this one, singular way: You only need one missile and one nuke to destroy both the United States and Canada.

In doing Risk Assessment, you consider not just the likelihood of something happening, but the consequences if it does. With EMPs we have something with a low likelihood of happening but absolutely catastrophic consequences that could be hugely moderated at a small cost. Yet isn't being moderated. It should be. Hell, any of their super rich guys like Buffet, Gates, Bezos, or Zuckerberg could fund it themselves and hardly notice the missing money. If I was one of them I'd volunteer to take care of the problem.

My claim was entirely supported by the people who worked with Trump in the citations I quoted, and in previous quotes Trump himself has made. I suspect with people like you unless there's a verified by Fox, recorded statement from Trump that says "I intend to overthrow the constitution, rule like a dictator, and execute all my enemies!" you'll just wave off all his talk of military trials and arresting his enemies. Not to mention the plans by those around him to gut the federal government's non-political staff and replace them with nothing but Trump Loyalists who will obey him regardless of the legality and constitutionality of what he's telling them to do. -
You can't buy a place in Manhattan that doesn't cost millions. And this will be a place where he entertains important diplomatic, political, and business leaders. Is he supposed to take up residence in a cheap, one-bedroom apartment in Harlem? He and where he lives reflects on Canada in the same way 24 Sussex does. And it's perhaps a metaphor that 24 Sussex is broken because the imbecile in charge of the place can't make a decision about fixing or replacing it.

Amazing. I refute your bullshyte about his autocratic desires being Left Wing talking points and you completely ignore it. Trying to reason with Trump supporters is often like trying to reason with Truthers and Birthers. -
DEI destroying Secret Service
I am Groot replied to User's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
There is a place for women in policing and the military. For the most part, these are not overly physically demanding jobs for anyone reasonably fit. Except for that small number of times when they absolutely ARE. And those tend to be the most critical times. Very, very few women are up to the task there due to simple, undeniable physical and biological limitations on them set by nature. And given few women even bother to apply, the DEI effort to get the number up as high as possible leads to people getting taken on and promoted far beyond their abilities and experience. We see that in other occupations, too, like politics, like our federal cabinet, for one. -

Left wing talking points? His previous secretary of defense, Mark Esper said he was a threat to democracy, wanted to send troops into the streets to quell demonstrations and riots and wanted to recall retired officers who criticized him to active service so they could be court-martialled. Other White house aides have also said he's a threat to democracy, like Alyssa Griffin, who said “I saw the actual executive order at the end of the last administration, ready to go, that would remake every civil servant into a political appointee and a loyalist to Trump,”. Another White House aide, Cassidy Hutchison said "I think that Donald Trump is the most grave threat we will face to our democracy in our lifetime, and potentially in American history.”His former Chief of Staff, John Kelly said Trump admires autocrats and dictators and has nothing but contempt for democratic institutions, the constitution, and the law. His former Attorney General said Trump will bring only chaos and that he shouldn't be anywhere near the White House. His other defense secretary said "Trump is the first president president in my lifetime who doesn't try to unite the American people, does not even pretend to try. Instead he divides us." His first secretary of state said “(Trump’s) understanding of global events, his understanding of global history, his understanding of US history was really limited. It’s really hard to have a conversation with someone who doesn’t even understand the concept for why we’re talking about this.” His National Security Advisor said “We saw the absence of leadership, really anti-leadership, and what that can do to our country.” These are not the Left wing speaking. -

You mean the nonsense, half-truths and complete lies Trump and his party put out every day? I agree he's not the next Hitler. He's not smart enough. -

Maybe because he's not the president. The Secret Service has denied there was any request for additional people, and that, in fact, additional people had been assigned due to the increased tempo of events planned. -

Maybe Trump shouldn't talk about becoming a dictator and putting people in jail, including the media that criticize him, and he and his team shouldn't plan how they'll fire all the neutral public servants and military and federal police and hire only those 'loyal' to Trump, hmm? -

Some are. Some are not. Trump is not. He's never shown the slightest regret at anything he's done, at anyone he's hurt. And he's been acting like this all his life, ever since his father declared him incorrigible and sent him to military school in hopes it would straighten him out (it didn't).
