And now there's gangs of Pakistanis and Arabs going around beating up white men and treating the girls badly.... And they vote Labour too.

The UK Labour party set about to make Britain 'multi ethnic'. It was deliberate. They didn't announce it openly at the time but former PM Blair has bragged about it and put it into a book. Note that 'multi-ethnic' is not simply 'multi-racial'. They brought people in and encouraged them to retain their own cultures. Much as Trudeau senior did. Much as the Canadian political elites have done since. It should be entirely unsurprising that as the numbers of newcomers rose friction began between these new 'communities' and the one already there. As will happen in Canada. One of the reasons why it's becoming more visible in the UK is they have some conservative media there while Canada has none to speak of. Also, the UK government has been much more obvious in its preferential treatment towards minority communities, esp blacks and Muslims, than Canada has been up until Trudeau Jr. And the police in the UK are visibly incompetent and have been corrupted by leftist ideology. They gleefully arrest anyone who says a bad word on the internet, but cracking down on robberies, assaults and shoplifting is not something they seem to be very adept at. They have a 7% crime solution rate. British people have become more and more disapproving of the police over that, and over their two-tier policing, where protests by blacks or Muslims are handled with kid gloves, but anything vaguely conservative gets called 'far right' and brings out the riot squad. As one of my favorite politicians said the other day on GBNews "If you insult Muslims the police will be on you in a second, but you can say pretty much whatever you want about Jews'.

Why climate alarmism and carbon taxes are a scam.

If a scientist tried to make that argument they would be dumped out of their university and never get another grant again. We are in an era where arguing unpopular beliefs is unwelcome at universities and among scientific associations. -

Who made them? I was watching a speech by Bjorn Lomborg while I ate my cereal this morning. He made the point that the latest projections suggest a drop in world GDP by somewhere between 2 and 3 points in 2100 if the models are correct. However, the cost to remediate this would be considerably more. The more expensive we made energy, the more negative impact that has on GDP. It's quite possible the bad governance in Canada will cost us 2-3 points off our GDP just by the damage its done to our resource and manufacturing sectors. (that's me, not Lomborg). In fact, I believe economists have suggested just bringing in free trade between the province would be worth this much. -

Because obviously there would be no forest fires without climate change...🙄 -

It's not going to kill us all. Life is going to kill us just as it has everyone else in history. The climate will be fine. -
This comes from being ignored and pandered to by the political elites. For years, the politicians all made tut-tut noises and shook their heads over the high numbers of immigrants and illegal migrants coming in. They all promised to drastically lower them. They've done nothing whatsoever. The Tories promised to get immigration down to below 100k and instead it's almost at 700k. Even Labour says there's too much immigration and migration and vow to lower it but no one has much faith in them. Thus the rebirth of the Reform party, which only one a handful of seats but by some measurements cost the British Conservatives over 100 seats through vote splitting. There's also the situation that the proliferation of hate speech laws, and the zealous way the British police have been enforcing them, have turned a big chunk of blue-collar Britain against them. As the saying goes in some of the British forums, call the cops if you're getting beat up or raped and they might show up in half an hour. But tell them someone has misgendered you and they'll be there in minutes.

Here's another reason. The federal government is declining to explain how a Toronto man was able to immigrate to Canada despite allegedly having taken part in ISIS violence overseas. Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi, 62, has been charged with committing an aggravated assault for the so-called Islamic State. The alleged incident took place outside Canada in 2015. Sources have told Global News the charge stems from a video released by ISIS that year that shows a man dismembering a prisoner with a sword. The RCMP arrested Eldidi and his son Mostafa, 26, at a hotel north of Toronto as they were allegedly about to commit a terrorist attack for ISIS. Police seized a machete and axe at the scene. While police told reporters both suspects are Canadians, Global News has learned the son does not hold citizenship in this country, and the father immigrated after the ISIS execution video was released. https://globalnews.ca/news/10677883/toronto-terror-arrests-questions-security-screening/

I've never seen any figures on this before, but when shopping for a condo some years back the older ones were a lot bigger than the newer ones. I bought a two-bedroom 1970s condo that is simply huge compared to what you'll find today. Master bedroom is larger than the one in my house. You could easily put two queen sized beds in it plus night tables and dressers. Lots of windows, too.

The media act against the population

The more people know about the wackadoodle wingnuts of the Green party the less likely they are to ever vote for them. -
PM's climate plan costs more than 200 Billion dollars
I am Groot replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The small reduction in GDP in 2100 due to climate change won't damage us nearly as badly as the larger reduction today thanks to Trudeau and Singh. -
Amnesty has, like other previous unbiased civil rights group, gotten 'woke', and now tends to side with the 'oppressed' against the 'oppressor' in every instance. Much like the US Civil Liberties Association, which once defended Nazis who wanted to march in uniform through Jewish areas, but now only defends people on the 'right side' of issues. In fact, a you would expect of a woke organization of the Left, Amnesty International is all-in on support for Gaza and condemnation of Israel at every opportunity.

Other countries are very choosy about who they let in. And they put the responsibility on the would-be immigrant to demonstrate that they want to integrate into the majority population. Before you can gain citizenship you will be interviewed and have to show what efforts you've made, like improving your language skills, like joining clubs and making friends that are not geared to your countrymen/ethnicity/religious group, learning about the nation's culture, being able to demonstrate you have the kind of societal understanding and knowledge and tolerance of those who live there. Also, any run-in with the law threatens not only your ability to obtain citizenship, but your ability to stay there. The Swiss are particularly adamant about this. Now compare this to Canada. We require virtually nothing. And the citizenship test is a 20 question true/false and multiple choice questionnaire on a single page. No interview. As for run-ins with the law, our sappy, hand-wringing, bleeding-heart judges will actually give refugees and permanent residents a sentence that won't interfere with their efforts to get citizenship. Even if they're guilty of sexual assault.

Barring technological and scientific progress, no, we are not. This is a comparison of the cost of major purchases today vs 1972. As it's American it actually understates how bad things are in Canada today. https://www.marketplace.org/2022/08/17/money-and-millennials-the-cost-of-living-in-2022-vs-1972/

That was before multiculturalism, before the government's message to newcomers was "Stay as you are!", and before the government's message about Canada was not one of pride but disgust and contempt. Why should newcomers want to integrate into a whole racist society where they will be nothing but oppressed victims? Besides, even before Trudeau jacked up immigration, refugee intake, foreign students and foreign workers we were having hard time integrating newcomers. Ethnic ghettoes are expanding, fewer immigrants are becoming citizens, and fewer are learning English or French. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada officials are digesting a significant report that defines absorptive capacity as “a two-way process that encourages adjustment on the part of both the newcomer and the receiving society.” Indeed, the internal report, obtained under an access to information request, shows that immigration analysts are worried that the “absorptive capacity” of Canada is going down. “Declining outcomes of recent immigrants have shown that integration is not automatic,” says the report, which surveys emerging problems with immigration flows and the pressure it’s putting on Canadian sectors. https://vancouversun.com/opinion/columnists/douglas-todd-canada-struggling-to-absorb-immigrants-internal-report-says

This is the saddest excuse for a discussion I've seen in a while. Most of you seem like you're spitting at the monitor while you hammer your fat fingers on the keyboards. Kamala Harris is a useless, woke skank. Donald Trump is a crooked, demented hafwit. Neither of them is qualified to be the mayor of Scranton, let alone President.

No, yours is inadequate. People are INFORMED about DEI. But if people had been taught critical thinking skills they'd refuse to support it. People were INFORMED about all Trudeau's lies and deficiencies in the last election. They still voted for him. I'm talking about education, wherein people are taught how economies function, instructed in critical thinking skills, like not just the immediate results of a policy initiative, but the follow-on effects, given historical lessons of how policies were put in place that did not work, and why. In other words, taught at least the basics on how a country needs to be run so they can be responsible citizens and voters.

The only solution to corrupt/dishonest politicians is an educated electorate that votes them out when they lie or engage in favouritism. Unfortunately, people today are so cynical they don't really care how much politicians lie, and figure pols directing contracts to their buddies is normal everyday operations anyway no matter who gets in. And they're not wrong. But it has to start with the electorate. If they have low standards for politicians then you get politicians like the ones we have now.

And how many people never go on that registry? And if doing something nefarious, do you not think they work through cutouts? Do you think some bigshot corporatist or foreign head of state goes to see Trump to offer money in exchange for something? Of course not. Some underling goes to see his son or daughter, or someone like Steve Bannon to pass the word on quietly. And none of these people will be wearing your cameras. They will then refer it to Trump in a private meeting on the golf course, or at Mar a Lago or in some limosine.

Like politicians today.
