The Left believes crime is the responsibility of society, not the criminal, and so does not want to punish the blameless individual. If someone is stealing or smashing things or shooting at people, it's the fault of society for its systemic racism, for not having enough community centres or for a lack of organized play sessions for children. The Left ignores human nature. It always has. That's the basis of Communism's repeated failures. It completely ignores human nature. If you don't punish crime then people will commit more of it, especially people whose cultural value set was not born in Canada. T

And once again, in your desperation to defend the Liberal government you are utterly ignoring the clearly drawn facts that the only thing they are measuring is the growth of GDP. And the growth of our GDP is 100% due to the uncontrolled arrival of millions more people over the past few years. Something certain to continue until Trudeau and his little brother are kicked out.

You're free to wallow in your white liberal guilt all you want. I don't ascribe every stupid thing done by a brown man somewhere in the world to white people. I think they have their own agency, make their own decisions based on their own hatred and ambition, all with little or no help from the evil white man.

No, it's defending the status quo, which you like, and which conservatives do not. You think Rosemary Barton has no bias? That everything she says is fed to her by someone else? She and the rest of the commentariat at the CBC, and those who work with them, incl producers have long shown a pronounced left-wing bias. They say polls have shown over 90% of US academics are liberal or progressive. I presume it's the same in Canada, or worse. And worse still at the CBC. How many people do you think work at the CBC and support the Conservative party? Any at all?
-
Ah well, the reason people like you don't see it is that they echo your own beliefs, your own repugnance at our history and the state of society, your own contempt at the thought of protecting our culture and values. I doubt you take in any news that isn't from the CBC lest a stray impure thought pass through your head.
-
Got nothing to do with bias. Got everything to do with not wanting to fund a highly politicized organization that slants its news against you and preaches the same anti-western, anti-capitalist bullshit as the woke academics. We don't need a government-funded network fixated on what a horrible place Canada is and has always been.

Nobody wants Palestinians anymore. They've proven to be a security risk everywhere they've gone in numbers. I'm sure Israel would be happy if all the Palestinians relocated and vice versa but that's not going to happen. I believe over 150k Ethiopian Jews moved to Israel or were secretly flown there by Israel. I know nothing about Ethiopian Jews coming to Canada. How many were they and why? I suppose given how absurd our refuge system is some will be coming here. But hopefully, not that many, and hopefully once the Conservative get in they'll do something drastic about our failed refugee system to stop further migrants.

They're electing people who are willing to challenge the elites' enthusiasm for wide open immigration. I'm pretty sure we all know Poilievre would make substantial other changes relating to the economy and taxation, including cutting the red tape needed to start/expand/export resources. I agree that cutting the CBC is a pointless proposal. It should be reformed by someone willing to take on a job which will involve a lot of howling outrage from the Left. And our foreign policy, incl our military policy, will have a strong impact on our relationship with the US. I would suggest Poiilevre would align more readily with US interests than Trudeau has.

It can be defined as a criminal act. Chanting 'free Palestine' aligns the speaker with Hamas, which should be illegal as Hamas is a vicious terrorist group. And please don't try to pretend you can support "Palestine" and not Hamas. That would be like someone in 1944 parading around with signs supporting Germany and claiming they're not actually supporting the Nazi Party. And 'from the river to the sea' has only one meaning. Genocide all the Jews from that area and make it pure and Muslim again.

I don't understand your question. You can criticize A Jew for something they've done or are doing. You can, if you're a scholar, criticize elements of the Jewish faith you disapprove of. If there is some aspect of Jewish culture - presuming we accept that is a thing - that you dislike you can criticize that. What you shouldn't be able to do is just gather in a crowd in a Jewish area to harass Jews. Nor can you blame Jews for something they haven't done nor call for some action to be taken against them.

You should always be able to speak the truth. There are huge problems with the black community related to crime, violence, single parenthood and lack of paternal support for their children, and lack of respect for education. With Indians, they're foreigners who have brought a foreign culture here that is in many ways hostile to our own. It's fine to criticize a group that is doing something that is wrong or impacts you badly. What have the Jews done you don't like? Also, we get to treat foreign people differently than we do those born here. Just like we treat people in our families differently than visitors to our home. Most of the people in these demos are foreigners. they should be expelled.

Trump shot at his own rally

It continues to amaze me how seemingly educated people can come out with absolutely ridiculous nonsense like this. Then again, I don't spend a lot of time associating with Trudeau or his minions, or the lunatics who believe anything like a just society can be achieved by treating people differently based solely on their race. The following are essential components of a racially fair Canada according to a pair of federally appointed brainstormers: dedicated Black courts and federal departments, racial “decarceration” targets … and, possibly, reparations for slavery. On crime, the authors recommended cutting the number of grounds on which courts can revoke bail from three to two, making it vastly easier for those charged with odious crimes to be released. Additionally, the government should “Make conditional sentence orders available for all offences,” which would mean house arrest could be on the table for any convict — even first-degree murderers. Further, every mandatory minimum should be eliminated from the Criminal Code, and the Youth Criminal Justice Act should be made to apply to anyone 24 and under (instead of today’s ceiling of 17). https://nationalpost.com/opinion/jamie-sarkonak-expect-more-injustice-from-the-liberals-forthcoming-black-justice-strategy

Are you under the impression all those thousands of people (more like hundreds) spent their time working on a report about Canada? Most likely this was a handful of guys looking at statistics. Yes, our economy is growing because we're dumping millions of people into it. But far too many of those people are low-skilled and continue to make Canada less wealthy as the poor middle class gets taxed more and more heavily to pay for the services Trudeau promises to the rest so he can buy their votes. And more and more of those skilled middle class people are vacating the premises, going elsewhere, like down south, so they can have a better life with lower cost of living and lower taxes.

Trump shot at his own rally
I am Groot replied to QuebecOverCanada's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
When he was 17. His friends say he was conservative. And apparently he searched out information on Biden's whereabouts as well as Trump's. It might well be that Trump was just showing up closer than anywhere Biden had on his published schedule. -
Has it not occurred to you that the smaller size of the public service after 2010 and prior to Trudeau's being elected was in large part due to the computerization of a number of tasks, thus requiring fewer employees? The explosion in the ranks of the public service under Trudeau has also been accompanied by a large increase in outsourcing jobs to contracted companies, consultants and employees
