Good to see the UK get back on Track!
I am Groot replied to CrazyCanuck89's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Immigration needs to be drastically cut. Aside from agricultural workers foreign workers should be so few in number the ministers office should have to approve every one of them. And foreign student should be limited to only universities, and their numbers capped permanently, not just until after the election, as the Liberals have done. And they need to speed up the approval process for natural resource development and export and balance the budget. They also need to fix the damn military. -

One of the main irritants is that the European court of Human Rights won't allow anyone to be deported to somewhere unpleasant. Thus once you get to the UK, however illegally, you're there for life. They should have withdrawn from that but they didn't have the balls. They say they have no intention of going back to the EU. -

This should be a lesson for Canada's Conservative Party. Because the same issues are in play here. And if Poilievre doesn't handle them properly he's going to find enough people voting for the PPC that he'll be a one-term wonder. It wasn't about economics. It was about sovereignty. -
Canadians voting along racial and ethnic lines

So there's the guy who did the study: Randy Besco earned his PhD from Queen's University and was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Race, Ethnicity and Gender in the Social Sciences And then there's... you, who have no education and did no study. And we're supposed to believe you? You're a clown. -

Sikhs got him his job. They flocked to the NDP to get him the nomination. But of course, his ferocious embrace of wokism has gotten a ton of people to turn their backs on the NDP. Especially when he became Trudeau's B1tch. I would suggest almost none of the Canadian born will like it, because these foreigners who came here did what the left told them to do - hung onto their home cultures, and disdained ours. And their home cultures are invariably EXTREMELY socially conservative by our standards, and will embrace policies that help their homelands over those that help Canada. -

You ignored everything I wrote so I'm going to assume you had no idea how to deal with it and instead focused on something else from some years back. Which is typical of a 'tard like you. Brexit was a good idea that was gone about in the wrong way. And yes, it WAS about cultural identity and controlling their border. Only when they pulled out of the EU they remained under the European Human Rights Court, which basically bans deporting anyone to anywhere unpleasant. Thus they have been unable to control migrants. But they also made no effort to control legal immigration either, which destroyed them. -
This topic comes up occasionally and all we see from the Left is denial. We almost never see it mentioned in the media, especially an admission that it happens all the bloody time and with growing frequency now as we bring in millions more racial/ethnic people from the third world. Besco has found ethnic self-identification is powerful in Canadian elections. The largest groups — South Asian Canadians and Chinese Canadians — tend to support candidates of their own ethnicity, Besco discovered, regardless of the voters’ political ideology or even their own self-interest. Saying the quiet part out loud here. We all knew it, of course, though the Left denies it. “Racialized Canadians are more likely to support candidates of their own ethnic group and racialized candidates more generally. Racial and ethnic identities matter, not only in elections but in nomination leadership races (and) social movements. These identity groups are deeply influential in politics,” writes Besco. But more broadly, it isn't just Sikhs voting for Sikhs or Indians voting for Indians. It's 'racialized people' voting for anyone racialized first. And even those who acknowledge it never condemn it. They just shrug and say 'that's the way things are'. But can you imagine the outrage if someone suggested they should only vote for the white candidates? And as millions more such people flood into Canada what is that going to do to representative politics in future? When more than half the population are immigrants? Because the agenda of a lot of these groups is not in harmony with the best interests of Canada. That's especially true of Muslims and Sikhs. Pandering to populism? If so, it was the populism of the Left. It was under this government that speech restrictions grew to the point deadnaming someone or calling them by the wrong gender could get you arrested. It was under this government that law and order deteriorated and violent offenders got slaps on the wrists while police focused more and more on monitoring rude speech on Twitter and Facebook. It was under this government that cultural institutions funded by the government, be they museums, galleries, libraries, or universities wallowed in an orgy of decolonization and denigrating everything about British history and traditions. What about any of that resembles pandering to the RIGHT? -

The Conservatives spent the last 14 years not being conservative, and allowing government bureaucracy and deficits to run wild. The police spent far too much of their time hunting down people who dared to misgender people or said something rude on the internet and not nearly enough going after knife crime. The NHS is falling apart, burdened with massive bureaucracy the Tories showed no interest in cutting. They campaigned on limiting legal immigration to 100k a year and stopping illegal immigration. Instead, legal immigration grew to 700k a year and they did nothing about illegal immigration. The results of all this are similar to here: crime out of control, housing shortages and cost rises, and an overburdened healthcare system on the verge of collapse. They didn't deserve to get in again. And their left-wing government made it much easier to vote in Labour on the assumption they probably couldn't get any further Left or be any more incompetent than the Tories. I doubt it will help much, though. Labour are not the party to slash bureaucracy and regulation, especially when most of those bureaucrats are unionized. Nor are they likely to cut the deficit. -

If Muslims, who are almost all immigrants, are committing a high percentage of sexual assaults that would reflect badly on our immigration system. It would show that the lack of screening of any kind is bringing in large numbers of people who do not respect women to the degree they will sexually assault them. This has been shown in other countries but Canada hides the background of criminals as much as possible, neither the police, nor government, nor media will allow the public to know this information.

Don't be absurd. Of course there is. Identity groups are sorted as to the degree of 'victimhood' and then placed on an appropriate hierarchy. As, for example, those protesting against Palestine "finding out" are higher on the victimhood chart than gays and lesbians. So the latter were helpless when a couple of dozen of the former ended their parade in Toronto. They didn't dare touch them or even contact the police to move them. They surrendered and walked away. Just like they did to BLM last year.

Interesting this should be in a British paper. In fact, it's in a bunch of British newspapers, from the Daily Mail (of course) to the Sun and Metro. I know no mainstream Canadian news media would ever report the background of the attackers. For example, here is how it was reported on CTV Atlantic. A birthday celebration turned into a nightmare for a same-sex couple in downtown Halifax on Saturday after they got into a violent altercation with a group of men. https://atlantic.ctvnews.ca/i-m-terrified-to-go-downtown-again-halifax-woman-recovering-after-altercation-with-group-of-men-who-allegedly-made-homophobic-slurs-1.6945975 The Toronto sun also has a similar report to CTV. The only other Canadian site to report it is the Western Standard. Two Halifax lesbians were brutally attacked by a mob of Muslim men believed to be from Syria. The women, Emma MacLean and Tori Hogan, were celebrating a birthday June 22 in the city’s downtown area at about 1:30 a.m. local time, when the group of about a dozen Middle Eastern men verbally accosted them with rude comments about their sexuality. https://www.westernstandard.news/news/halifax-lesbian-couple-beaten-by-throng-of-syrian-men/55731 It's interesting how censorous Canadian media is in comparison to the British. How they decide to cut out part of the information because... because why? Because reading that isn't good for us? Because we'll see that and perhaps go out and attack Muslims? Why? I don't know why Canadian/American media turned into public censors of information, but they've been doing it for years and it's a part of why they aren't trusted anymore.

I don't know how many different ways to point out that the measure used is inadequate to understanding the growth of the public service. But I will point out that the baseline year chosen was deliberate since it was as the Conservatives were reducing the size of the public service. In 2015 when Trudeau took over there were 257k public servants There are now 357k public servants Here's the official statistics. https://www.canada.ca/en/treasury-board-secretariat/services/innovation/human-resources-statistics/population-federal-public-service.html

Don't worry, the Palestinians shut it all down and ordered them all to go home. LOL. So much planning, 200 different groups marching, 200,000 marchers in all, 2.4 million spectators, and whoops, 20 Palestinians said no! And because the left considers them as being higher on the victim hierarchy than gays and lesbians the latter folded like a cheap tent and gave up halfway through the parade route. They wouldn't dare lay a hand on them, push them out of the way, or even call the cops to do it. LOLOL Pride? What's there to be proud of having no spines? https://torontosun.com/news/local-news/showing-pride-thousands-gather-in-toronto-for-annual-pride-parade

It is not 40k who were hired. The PS increased by 40%.
-
It increased by 40% since 2015. That is the metric that counts. And that doesn't even count the dramatic increase in consultants. https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/trudeau-government-increased-federal-employees-since-2015

The public service has grown by 40% since Trudeau took over. Despite his massive importation of third-world people, the population has not grown by nearly that much. Wouldn't you be?
