Food price increases are more in Canada, than some other G7 nations because our main food exporting country decided tariffs would be a wonderful idea. What the article below leaves out is corporate price gouging. Profit margins in grocery retail has increased significantly. https://retail-insider.com/retail-insider/2025/10/canadas-food-inflation-surges-to-top-of-g7-rankings/ Much of the renewed pressure can be traced back to trade policy. The counter-tariffs introduced in March, combined with new U.S. measures, have quietly inflated costs across the entire food chain. Tariffs are, by nature, inflationary—they disrupt market efficiencies, raise input prices, and trigger retaliatory actions that make goods more expensive on both sides of the border.

I didn’t think you’d ever step up. You don’t seem the type.

Poilievre’s interviews with mainstream media, CBC and CTV, were…. well, awful. Now I see why he never does them. He can’t form sentences without slogans. Awful. His “backroom deals” schtick came across as so hypocritical. He literally had to bribe a Conservative in Alberta to vacate his seat so he could win a safe by-election. It’s the very definition of backroom deal. And the guy who resigns his seat gets a job at a conservative lobbying firm. Convenient.

Are bureaucrats the only ones who would step up to defend the nation? Would you?

@Shady is being shady again. This is what poliwave.com says today: What @Shady did was remove polls he didn’t like and just kept a single poll.

Sure. I don’t care what protections they have at their border. There’s no right for me to enter another country. Whether the measures are effective, or intelligent, is another question. I don’t think a picture, or even biometric data, are necessarily unreasonable to cross a border. Demanding 5 years of social media posts? Downright stupid and likely unworkable. -
Why would it need to be that way? You think we’d anoint a king? What is an example of the GG preventing the PM from doing something in the last 50 years? I agree. I think the SC could take a proper oversight role. I’ve mentioned this in past posts. Unelected does not mean undemocratic. There are ways to appoint and remove judges. Not so with a king who “rules” based on his bloodline, which is inherently undemocratic. So Germany is a tyranny? Finland is tyranny? Being a republic is not inherently corrupt.

Trump doesn’t recall it. He is accepting gifts in the form of jets with golden toilets from a country that allows terrorist organizations (the Islamic kinds) to fundraise within its borders. -

Would a Christian ever do this?

It was a clever show. What’s crazy is how rightwingers these days think that show was perpetuating Archie Bunker’s attitudes as acceptable when it was actually mocking his backward thinking and bigotry. Caroll O’Conner had a great interview about how Bunker was a deeply unhappy character because of the burdens of his bigotry and racism and how the world was passing him by. -
Trump’s tariffs and rhetoric about the 51st state isn’t an actual issue for you? I think you’re in the minority of Canadians on that. Poilievre only talked about economic policy…. which is why he used the term “woke ideology” 50 times per speech. 😝 He lost on being too much like Trump and not talking about issues that Canadians actually care about.

Here on this forum you think the Con supporters will recognize a problem??? Hahahaha The PP supporters on this forum blame China and the Liberals for the last floor crossing. Apparently, this MP was a Chinese communist party plant that the Libs put there, or something bat-crap crazy like that. No, we just don’t like it. Conservatism these days is made up of a bunch of nonsense like culture war issues. If it focussed on actual fiscal policy, there wouldn’t be an issue.
