Liberal Party Takes Lead in Polls
TreeBeard replied to TreeBeard's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The last 10 polls have the Libs within the margin of error (tied) or leading. This is an absolute disaster for the Cons who were up 20+ points a few weeks ago! What can/should the Cons do to change this around and appeal more to voters? source: 338canada.com -
Trump: would rather deal with a Liberal

I have a Gods given right to free expression and you want to take it away. Get your BIG government overreach out of here. -
Carney, get those Gripens! https://militarywatchmagazine.com/article/swedens-lightweight-gripene-vs-americas-stealthy-f35a-pros-cons Despite being part of a much more modest program, the Gripen retains a number of important advantages over the F-35. With the Gripen A/B having entered service in 1996, the Gripen E is based on a thoroughly tested airframe and is considered fully combat ready. The F-35 by contrast has over 800 performance issues with progress made towards solving them having been very slow. Where the Gripen is fully operational and well suited to fighting at any time, the F-35 is still limited to an initial operating capability and is poorly suited to even medium intensity combat - with the Pentagon as a result consistently refusing to approve the fighter for mass production every year. The F-35’s maintenance requirements remain very high for a single engine fighter and its availability rates low, where the Gripen is prized for its unrivalled ease of maintenance among Western fighters meaning a far larger proportion of a Gripen fleet can be kept combat ready at any time compared to an equivalent F-35 fleet. This is largely a result of its size, as while the American F-16 is considered a standard lightweight the Gripen is considered a 'very light' aircraft comparable to the cancelled American F-20 or the Chinese JF-17. While the Gripen’s small scale of production means it is not being marketed at a significantly lower price than the F-35, its operational costs are very significantly lower meaning over its lifetime a Gripen squadron will cost several billion dollars less than an F-35 squadron of the same size - depending on how frequently they fly. This could also result in Gripen pilots having more time in the air than those of the F-35.

Civilized society does not control speech that hurts religious peoples feelings. So you believe insulting gay people (calling them abominations) should be illegal then? I do. People like you are trying to take it away. -

He has already told him there won’t be talks until the 51st state idiocy ends. https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/carney-calls-trumps-51-state-remarks-disrespectful-as-international-media-takes-notice Annexation comments 'need to stop before any conversation about our broader partnership with the U.S.,' Mark Carney said -

You don’t believe in less government and individual freedom. You believe in government control of our speech if it hurts religious feelings. -

https://www.ivey.uwo.ca/impact/read/2024/11/ask-the-experts-trumps-25-tariff-plan/ 😂 Trump made a campaign promise to apply tariffs. If someone didn’t know he was going to do this, then they simply weren’t listening. -
Hudson's Bay, Canadian Businesses
TreeBeard replied to 500channelsurfer's topic in Business and Economy
Really? Companies come and go all the time. In 400 years are people in Canada going to be upset about Home Hardware going away because the yard-bots have built-in tools and people no longer dig their own gardens or fix their own roof leaks? You seem very emotional about this. -

Trump and Putin apologists sure have a lot in common. -
You guys are like the nutbars standing on the street corner yelling “the end is nigh”. Go read the fable “Boy Who Cried Wolf”.

You fell easily for the “reverse psychology” trick that Trump just learned. -
Grasping at this like a drowning person grasps at a lifeline! 😆 Desperation!
