  1. Our birth rate isn't high enough to maintain our population. Without immigration we become a nation of geezers. We need to be selective about who we accept and make sure there are opportunities for them so they stay.
  2. Two different things. Equal opportunity yes. When it comes to equal outcomes it depends on what you are talking about.
  3. No, it is assault to deliberately run into someone. So you think it is justified to assault and run over people on picket lines because they are in your way.
  4. Trying to impede someone by standing in front of them is not attacking them. It may be irritating as shit but it isn't assault. There are just a ton of grey areas around this and each case has to be taken individually.
  5. If they are attacking you or you just can't avoid them, I would agree. I was responding to this statement.
  6. Wanting to get home is no excuse for killing someone.
  7. Exactly, you couldn't call it colonialism so you dreamed up Manifest Destiny. The only people we have had to defend ourselves from is you. I guess some things don't change. You and Trump can go and f*ck yourselves.
  8. Once Trump gets rid of all the illegals it will be even lower.
  9. In the first case, the video isn't enough to determine either way but I can understand the motorist being terrified. It would come down to whether the court thought their reaction was justified. The second was clearly wrong and deserves prosecution.
  10. Ah, you invade us and then call us insurgents and terrorists when we resist. The American way. One might think you are just another bunch of imperialist empire builders. In 1812 you attacked us, in 1846 you attacked Mexico. None of your neighbours has ever attacked you.
  11. Good excuse to put down protests of any kind. Someone inconveniencing you isn't an excuse to kill them. Prosecute them if they are breaking the law but you have no right to be a vigilante and execute people. If you do, expect to be charged with a crime yourself. We gave up lynch mobs a long time ago but I guess you guys yearn for the good old days.
  12. Burning it off will still result in CO2 emissions but less impact than just allowing the release of methane.
  13. Canadian wine boycott hits US producers hard. https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/business/economics/2025/06/18/us-wine-export-market-struggling-after-canada-pulled-the-plug-expert-says/
  14. We might be. Certainly the world is going to see a change like no other in recorded history. https://legacy.geog.ucsb.edu/what-if-all-the-ice-melted-an-interactive-map-from-national-geographic/
  15. There are billions of tons of methane locked in Arctic permafrost, just waiting for it to thaw and be released into the atmosphere.
  16. Pretty obvious you prefer a dictatorship.
  17. When that happens you have a vacuum. Look what has happened in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria. As bad as Saddam may have been; he kept Iran occupied instead of Israel and was really no threat to the region after the 1st Gulf War. The US and Britain engineered the overthrow of a democratic regime in Iran during the 50's and put the Shah in power. The eventual result was the Islamic revolution, not because most Iranians loved the Ayatollah's but they hated the Shah even more.
  18. Ya, the US has such a great record when it comes to regime change in the Middle East.
  19. No, they were exposed before. Your right wing media is only paying attention now. They were quite willing to ignore it when Biden was in office because it didn’t fit their narrative at the time.
  20. People were pleading guilty to these frauds as early as a year ago. The DoJ's spotlight had been on them long before Trump was elected.
