  1. ALL people, religious or not, are prone to being manipulated by dangerous ideologies. This is why it's best to stay far away from such dangerous thinking and propaganda - religious, political or whatever. It seems to me that it is YOU who see Muslims as being unlike other humans - somehow superior, as if they are impervious to their own dangerous/harmful religious beliefs, of which there are many in Islam - and openly practiced in most Islamic countries. (I was "talked to" once or twice about how I dressed in my fanatical Christian cult - but I was never afraid of being killed for how I dressed, as a woman. I left that same cult, and while I am shunned - I do not fear anyone killing me for leaving.)
  2. My understanding of the history of Cuba is that there are no native Cubans. They are all descendants of either African slaves or the Spaniards, who conquered and killed the entire native population. Not excusing Canada's mess. It was just a bit shocking when I learned about the Cubans.
  3. While I'm sure not all of them support the terrorist government they elected, how do YOU know which ones do and which ones do not support it? You don't. The general population voluntarily elected a known terrorist group to govern. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. It is. Read their government Charter/Covenent. It's very explicit about killing the Jews and taking over Israel and making it an Islamic state. One side here does not want peace.
  4. Hamas was a democratically elected government. That means the people chose them. On purpose. The governing Charter (or Covenant) of the Hamas government is to "fight the Jews and kill them" and replace Israel with an Islamic state. What part of "kill the Jews" is difficult for some of you to understand? If my next-door neighbors were actively trying to kill me, telling everyone they want to kill me......I don't think it's anyone's place to tell Israel to back off or criticize them for how they handle this.
  5. Religious beliefs are some of the hardest to un-entrench and reform, as they are largely immune to logic and reason and have "God/Allah says" as their "proof". Large numbers of people with strongly entrenched and harmful/violent religious beliefs are dangerous. Add in large numbers of others who believe "To each his own" and they become deadly.
  6. Coolio. I'll check it out. ?
  7. I tried to play a game similar to this and all the people who had been playing for a long time and had amassed huge armies - their only strategy was searching for small first timers who hadn't build up enough assets and armies to protect themselves, then attacking them with their huge armies and taking everything from you. It was impossible to play against them.

It's not much of an insult, but it's what they've got.

  11. I liked how he tried to get them to stop rioting by reminding them several times that the election was "stolen" from them.
  12. He asked her to put a leash on her dog, per the signs in the area, which is a well-known bird-watching area. Given the state of the police in the US, her bogus call saying he was threatening her life - could have cost this black man his actual LIFE. SHE came towards him and HE said, "Don't come near me." for pete's sake. She knew what she was doing IMO.
  13. And like every abusive, narcissistic man before him and after him - he was fine with powerful, competent, independent women. Until he "got" them and married them - then he had to devalue and discredit them. Almost all his pronouncements against women were in response to issues he had with his wives. "Mohammed, this decision you are making is not in the best interests of the family business." "Oh yeah? Well, God told ME that you only have half a brain." "Mohammed, I'm sick of picking up your underwear - put it in the laundry." "Oh yeah? Well, God told ME that you have to cover your face if you want to leave the tent."
  14. No, it's not. You need to look stuff up before you post.
  15. Dude. You're basically proving the point of this OP. P.S. I "Liked" all your posts in this thread. Feel better?
  16. You're upset because I put a "Like" on the OP? Mmmmmokay.
  17. I've always been female. Not sure what your point is.
  18. Maybe that's why 27 babies out of every thousand die in Bangladesh and only 5 out of every thousand in the US. In Bangladesh, 8% of the total deaths among women of reproductive age are from dying in childbirth. Societies seem to do better when women are treated as the other half of the human race instead of just as breeders.
  19. I don't understand what you're asking. Some have claimed that wearing masks during the pandemic somehow legitimizes religious oppression of women. Now you are conflating 3 things - basic precautions of wearing face masks during the pandemic, oppression of women and and criminals who wear face coverings to commit crimes. Those are 3 separate concerns. In no way do I believe face masks during a pandemic legitimizes the other 2. We're going to have to come up with a way of balancing covid face masks with security concerns when things open up again. Those are legitimate concerns. I dont' believe in systematic oppression of women by requiring them to cover their faces in public, like a walking apology for being female.
  20. Yes, because religious oppression of women is EXACTLY the same as taking basic safety precautions during a world-wide pandemic.
  21. Quote from YOU: If you're going to take pot shots, invent your own. Dialamah accuses me of this all the time. Troll.
  22. No one denied there was racism in Canada. No one. And so far, the most racist comments have come from ......You.
  23. Trolling your own topic. Nice.
  24. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/30/world/africa/sudan-outlaws-female-genital-mutilation-.html?smid=fb-share&fbclid=IwAR0CTSlOQkmRX_mw9Ff0okprUdeMB8tdWC6vP6GhkKZv_3ZB0wECo2FEfHI They've been trying for many years to make this law, but have been repeatedly quashed by religious conservatives. Of course, just having the law will not end the practice. Hopefully, they will start prosecuting. And maybe it will eliminate Sudan as a place for Muslims in Western countries to take their girls to be cut.
