  1. Actually it does according to Jesus: John 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matthew 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
  2. So you are going out and learning Mandarin then? Of course don't expect to sell a plug nickel worth of stuff to the European market.
  3. I'm not sure I get the point of being "transformed". Obviously people make changes every day and in every manner. What exactly was accomplished?
  4. Talk about being myopic. Instead of acknowledging that French is spoken by 220 million people worldwide, there is this simplistic notion that it is only a part of Quebec. In Europe, French is the second most widely spoken language after German. English is today the third most spoken language in Europe, and after the Brexit will become extinct in trade deals with the European Union.
  5. I usually buy when I'm high, and then get depressed because I'm broke and have to sell.

  7. Please don't breed mules, or for that matter ligers or tigons.
  8. Spare me the drama. One person writing to laymen to explain the expanding universe said that their pea brains might understand stretching easier and suddenly we have "science stated"? 99.99999999999999999999999999999% of science texts use "expanding".
  9. You don't need a university degree to do open heart surgery either, you can learn from youtube.
  10. Harper stuck his stupid little face into Canada Post in a big way: Violated Rights Lame Duck appoints stooge Smoking Gun Hot Button
  11. Yet our country is full of cry baby whiners who didn't learn French and cry and cry that they can't get a federal job. Too bad they don't understand ROI.
  12. No, if their job requires them to count then that is important too. Working memory, also needed in math, is improved; that is especially helpful during the early grades although immersion kids generally catch up (but don't surpass) by later elementary school grades. Reading scores for English are also higher among French immersion students throughout elementary and secondary.
  13. Yes, if you want to be a public servant then speaking both official languages is a prerequisite. I guess you don't think it is a good thing that health care professionals have prerequisites, or those who build bridges, etc. Yes, all may apply, no skills needed. I made sure all my kids went through French immersion so they would have that skill if they ever needed it. As a side note, the European Union has 24 official languages. Now you don't have to speak all 24 to get a job, but any citizen has the right to access all EU documents in any of those official languages and communicate with the EU in their own language. I guess they will soon only have 22 languages as English and Irish will be history.
  14. Yes, Canada made great progress towards lowering senior poverty with a dramatic decrease from the 70's to the 90's. The Canada Pension Plan was one of the main factors there. Unfortunately that progress stopped in the mid 90's and has been slowly inching it was back up ever since.
  15. I wonder how many folks from the UK are currently working in Germany, France, and other countries. Will they be receiving pink slips?
  16. Kinda makes you want to be bad so you can see what is happening in the dark alleys.
  17. This is only if you look at the EEC, and ignore the many other treaties that many of the member states subscribed to before the evolution into the European union.
  18. “What is most important for me is that I have complete faith and trust in Jesus Christ my lord and saviour. So please do not be concerned about the government’s case against me. One day Jesus Christ will set me free by his jury” - Richard Bain

  19. It is not just design similarity, the flint appear to be quarried in France.
  20. I can understand letting a second language lapse in most of Canada, but there is absolutely no excuse in either Montreal or Ottawa. There are countless opportunities each and every single day, both at work and in the community to use, maintain, and perfect your second language skills. Nobody who was educated at their employers cost in a second language in either of these cities should be allowed to let it lapse, that should be 100% on the employee. They have responsibility to maintain their skills, and that should be a condition of their continued employment. Nobody who let this happen should ever be promoted.
  21. If Quebec held a referendum and decided to leave Canada, what would you say if the leader of the Bloc Québécois showed up in Parliament the next week? Members of the European Union turned their backs and booed Nigel Farage as he spoke in Brussels today.
  22. Exactly. The only substantial evidence we have of possible Earlier European migration is the tool artifacts. That is why I said they might have been transitory communities that died out. Since these tools were found in coastal communities, perhaps there were no humans alive that brought them. I don't know what the ocean currents were like 25,000 years ago, but the tools might have been carried in wooden crafts that washed up on the beaches of North America and subsequently disintegrated. While they could have been "message in a bottle" or possibly an offering to the gods, I think it is likely that people set out in water crafts, either intentionally for discovery or through navigational error or lost in storm, but didn't survive the long voyage.
  23. Yes, the "leave" advocates would never resort to scare. They would never write in big bold letters on their campaign bus that the UK is losing 350 million pounds a week and that money would be used for healthcare. Scare tactics are only on one side of any debate, we know that for a fact.
  24. I'm not sure how we are getting here from pension reform, perhaps a new thread is in order. b.t.w. There are 11 countries with official bilingualism, and 18 additional countries with official multilingualism (ie. 3 or more languages). Perhaps how we have implemented it could be improved, but lets move that discussion elsewhere.
  25. That is a great strategy, the only problem I have found is conjuring up that new capital just in time for the dips.
