  1. 40 some years ago the backseat, and even the front seat, was a comfortable place to do it. Even in the large SUVs, you rarely find a bench seat anymore. I blame that loss on the Japanese.
  2. London is 71% White, 13% asian (about half of which are from India), 11% black, and 5% others. There are a few boroughs like Newham and Brent where whites are in the minority, but in 27 of 33 boroughs they are the majority.
  3. My understanding of the thread is that God is changing people, with a strong implication that is better (ie. they need changing). b.t.w. putting the qualifier 'want' is interesting. Are you implying we have no control over our wants, or that our wants should be set (heavily influenced) by someone/thing external to ourselves?
  4. I'm just saying how it comes across. Your disclaimers do not register as sincere when tacked onto a long list. You have stated before that the public should stay out military matters, yet you use a long laundry list of problems to justify asking for more money. That is why I said previously that the military should be able to tell the government they cannot participate in a mission. It is the military commanders that fail when they send soldiers into battle without the proper uniforms, training and equipment. Yes, there are lots of problems that need to be addressed but writing a blank cheque is not the solution. We need to set a level of funding that can sustain a level of readiness including a limit to deployments, beyond that base missions need to be addressed individually. Remember that the nation is not here to prop up a military, our economy is a vital part of the nation. Impoverishing our nation to support a military is against the security of the nation. Finding the right balance is key.
  5. Yes, the military members are better than the rest of us so we serfs should just shut up and comply because all we care about is a pay cheque. Us plebs couldn't understand caring about the nation, we are just not cut from the right cloth.
  6. That is true of almost 100% of our politicians, of every political affiliation. Talk about inherited wealth, just look south of the border. Donald Trump had a (actually several) trust fund that was about 40 times larger than Trudeau's. On top of that his daddy arranged directly and indirectly several hundred million in loans for young Donald to play empire building with. Since that time Donald has inherited many millions more.
  7. Any supporting facts for your argument? Are you comparing Canada to the US? Is it the same product, or is the US milk loaded with growth hormones? Have you looked at Australia & New Zealand? Australia has a wider price range than Canada, but on average is 10% cheaper, New Zealand is about 10% more expensive, the US is about 30% cheaper. Net farm receipts in Canada for dairy total $6 billion, you are suggesting that we are $2.5 billion or 72% overpriced. I don't think your numbers add up at all. Do you not consider that everything else is considerably higher cost in Canada but dairy is 100% the fault of supply management? Do you include the massive subsidies the dairy farmers in the US receive from taxpayers? I think it is good to have a discussion on supply management, but let's not make wild unsubstantiated claims.
  8. I don't get it. MacBook user.
  9. Is that like calling me a TAXI? No need, I have the unter* app. *unter - Since TAXIs ride on top of bridges and trolls live under them I use unter instead of über.
  10. Yes, it is amazing how many times Australia is used as an example of 'privatized' postal service when it essentially is just a crown corporation like CanadaPost has been since 1981. I guess Canada is an example of 'privatized' postal service as well. Sweden and Denmark formed a joint corporation owned by the two governments, so they are not really examples either.
  11. You grew up in the world for 12 years, a world that hid women's breasts from you, a world that told you that the forbidden fruit was associated with sex. It is no wonder that when you body was undergoing changes you would react as you did. Remember that the brain is the most important sex organ of all, that is why the pornography industry does so well. If you grew up in a world where we didn't wear clothes, where we didn't advertise the female form on billboards, then your reaction would be different. Don't discount those 12 years of conditioning. I believe there are many factors concerning sexual orientation, and free choice is one of them. That doesn't mean there are other, potentially stronger, factors that are not involved. You brain begins developing long before you exit the womb, and continues throughout your life. We have only a very limited understanding of the human brain and emotions. Often there are conflicts, and some people have a very hard time resolving those conflicts. The biggest conflict however has been society trying to establish standards, and forcing people to conform to those standards. As a society we need to tolerate, if not celebrate, the differences in people. I have no problem accepting someone who is gay, lesbian, or transgender, regardless if that was something they feel they were born with or it was a conscious choice they made. The only time I become concerned is when someones actions affects others negatively. To me the pervert is not someone that is different from me, it is someone that abuses others. Consenting adults participating in private (ie. only with other consenting adults, regardless of gender or number) affairs is not my business. It is only when someone draws in another non-consenting person, and minors are by definition non-consenting, that they become perverts. There are just as many, nay far far more, heterosexual perverts around. *Graham, don't you think it is about time you updated your Gender from "Not Telling"? I think the cat is out of the bag.
  12. Is going provincial like going postal?
  13. The "right" choice is not to be a bottomless money pit purchasing the latest and greatest iPhone for the military. I agree too many large purchase decisions become political footballs and that needs to change; no more photos in mockups of F-35s. The government needs to commit to long term spending plan, and the military needs to stick to that plan. No whining that they want bigger and better toys, and will daddy please open the wallet. The military should be able to say that the mission the government sets is not possible given the funding, and then it is up to the government to decide if they can find more money or scale back or forgo the mission. Canadian content rules are a completely different issue, or are you suggesting we disband the Canadian Forces and outsource to the Americans (or Chinese)? What is good for the goose, is good for the gander. If you want manufactured offshore, then why do you expect to be employed?
  14. Who said my Canada is fragile? I pointed out why we can't head down that slippery slope, and thankfully there is strong enough support in Canada for the rule of law that it will survive.
  15. Well said, you should post that on your computer screen.
  16. You obviously didn't read the judgement, or even the article at the Star. No, then we will have the police breaking into everyones home and searching for evidence, and if they just happen to find a thief they will apologize to him and then nail him. We have civil rights for a reason, if you want to live in a totalitarian state then I suggest you move and don't try and destroy my Canada.
  17. The average Canadian knows about what country they want to live in. No they should not be saying which pattern of camouflage the military should be using, or how to plan an conduct a military engagement. What they can say however is how much we want to spend on the military, and what role they should be playing. It is not up to the military to decide they want to engage in a conflict overseas, or at home.
  18. Wrong. The man got off because the police who are charged with enforcing the law failed miserably in upholding the law. This is not about the man, it is about the systematic failure of the police force, well beyond the failure of a single officer. As bad as the problem of DUI is, the problem with the police is far worse.
  19. Yes, I used improve, I also used detriment and possible. You are right, transformation is not just improvement, it includes detriment in its definition. Thanks for pointing out the non/extra religious equivalent of proselytizing - [outspoken] activist. Again I ask, how did it affect: Her mental health Her physical health How she treats others Note that #3 is beyond self help because it has an effect beyond the self.
  20. As I see it there are basically three different areas for life-altering changes: Mental health Physical health How you treat others Any life-altering change can be for the better or worse in those area. It is great when the benefits are in more than one area, but often an improvement in one area leads to compromises in another area. Yes, it is possible to improve both your mental and physical health, but you can also improve one to the detriment of the other. You might feel better about yourself because you don't obsess about exercise, or you might feel better about yourself because you are exercising and seeing the results. Many people who find religion improves their mental health treat others better, but there are those who obsess about it and when they proselytize they have a negative effect on others with the extreme when they resort to violence. Equally there are those who find that life without religion leads to better mental health.
  21. I suggest that saying "The white people will eventually become dumb downed if they continue on the race mixing path." is implicitly telling people how to live their lives. That is essentially the Aryan battle cry: die Herrenrasse.
  22. Africa: 54 separate sovereign states, and 10 foreign controlled territories (Spain-4, France-3, and Britain, Portugal and Italy with 1 each). GDP is only 1/7th that of the US despite having 3 times the population, and I wonder how much of that is siphoned off by foreign interests. Yes, it is a hole but the real question is how did it get that way and what can be done to fix it. Benevolent foreign power sounds like an oxymoron to me, just an excuse to get to the oil and diamonds and such. Certainly Greece and Rome had an influence in Northern Africa many centuries ago, and then it was Turkey's turn. Spain, Portugal, and the UK colonized the coastal areas for a few centuries, and then along with France moved deep into the interior for the first half of the 20th century.
  23. Shhh, don't give them any more ideas of another part of the world they could be screwing up.
  24. What is wrong with riding in on a οναριον, that was a long domesticated animal and certainly well adapted to the climate of Jerusalem. Horses were more often associated with military force, not the conquering image that Jesus wanted to cultivate. It also fulfilled the prophecy that the Messiah would arrive on a οναριον.
  25. The CEO of Federal Express makes $14million/year by himself.
