  1. Why is Truman the worst? I don't get it. Absolutely. Jimmy Carter was a putz, and a terrible Preisdent. I believe the misery index was created during his term in office. What an honor huh? I agree. He's the Winston Churchill of our time. Why? If George Bush is considered the worst President in history by some people because of Iraq, why on earth should Lyndon Johnson be given credit? For what? 50,000+ U.S. casualties? Millions of vietnamese casualties?Ok, there's way too many posts to respond to, I guess I was late getting to this thread. I meant to vote for Reagan but accidentally voted for W. Damn Diebold! IMO, Reagan was clearly the best President of the last 60, followed by FDR.
  2. LOL, you're so right. Not only that, you're only one pay-cheque away from being homeless, America is a fascist theocracy, and there's gonna be a military draft. Gotta tackle those issues in a non-fearmongering way as well. I love it, because you agree with the outcome of the election, "American's have proven democracy works". Unless of course, people you disagree with politically win elections. Then I guess it doesn't. Too funny. Anyways, newsflash. America practices a better form of democracy then we do. Always has.
  3. The Democrats definitely did well this year. You have to tip your hat to them. Although, it seemed to be more of a vote against Republicans then a vote for Democrats. They did better then I expected for a party offering absolutely no platform, other then not being George Bush. The good news is, that their gains will only be temporary. They gained many seats in very conservative districts due to Iraq, and several unusual circumstances like Abramoff and Foley. Not to mention the true voter fraud that took place this fall. Democrats pretending to be conservatives. That ain't gonna fly with a two-year voting record. Also, I think it's probably a blessing in disguise. With an important Presidential election on the horizon, briefly reminding the voting public about just what Democrats leading Congress is like, will go a long way for 2008.
  4. I wish we had alot of what America has as its system of government. Especially the independence it allows individual members of Congress. One can truely act on principle, instead of party, and really only have to answer to one's constituency.
  5. This is the Democrat equivalent of McCain has a black baby. They're trying to suppress the Evangelical vote.
  6. Yes, the gay Republican representatives and ministers. It's the Democrat equivalent of McCain has a black baby. And yes, I think Republicans will retain slim majorities in both houses of congress.
  7. Good news for Republicans. Republicans Cut Democratic Lead in Campaign's Final Days A nationwide Pew Research Center survey finds voting intentions shifting in the direction of Republican congressional candidates in the final days of the 2006 midterm campaign. The new survey finds a growing percentage of likely voters saying they will vote for GOP candidates. However, the Democrats still hold a 48% to 40% lead among registered voters, and a modest lead of 47%-43% among likely voters. PEW And that's despite the recent news parade of gays and their sexual exploits.
  8. WASHINGTON (CNN) -- North Korea has revealed to the United States that it has a secret and active nuclear weapons program begun years after it promised to never again to pursue such a course, the White House said late Wednesday The intelligence, the official said, indicated the program was launched in the late 1990s -- several years after North Korea signed the agreement with the United States, Japan and South Korea CNN I'm not sure why the Bush-haters have to try and re-write history. It's not difficult to prove you liars wrong.
  9. That's a lie. North Korea was developing nukes long before George W Bush was ever in office. Stop lying.
  10. Lawmaker's son, 4 others charged in tire slashing MILWAUKEE (AP) — The sons of a first-term congresswoman and Milwaukee's former acting mayor were among five Democratic activists charged Monday with slashing the tires of vans rented by Republicans to drive voters and monitors to the polls on Election Day USAToday If anyone wishes to read up on traditional Democratic creative accounting on election day, read about the 1960 Nixon/Kennedy election. Was Nixon Robbed? On the other hand, some fraud clearly occurred in Cook County. At least three people were sent to jail for election-related crimes, and 677 others were indicted before being acquitted by Judge John M. Karns, a Daley crony.
  11. You shouldn't be distrubed at all. He's right to speak out against ILLEGAL immigration. Afterall, it's ILLEGAL. It hurts the country, especially by supressing wages for lower and middle-class workers. If your Dad came to Canada illegally, that's wrong as well, however, I'm guessing that he probably came here legally. Please don't mix illegal immigration with legal immigration. They're two seperate issues.
  12. Not only that, he's a rabid winger. You can tell by the terminology he likes to use (ie Shrub). That type of stuff is rampant on the far-left blogs. Give them a read, they're very entertaining.
  13. RealClearPolitics.com has Lieberman up by 12.5% on Lamont. Looks like Joementum is outta control, and it looks like the far-left wingers cost the Dems a senate seat. Link You might be right, however, that would mean that the majority of people in Connecticut prefer a more Conservative senator. So either way, democracy wins.
  14. My favourite part of the Dixie Chicks song, "not ready to make nice" is definitely the video. They're playing violins. Which is very appropriate, since they've been playing the world's biggest violin for the last 3 years. They're not victims, they're millionaires, and I'll be glad when they finally shut up about their "victimhood".
  15. From what I've read, the former Clinton Administration had a lot to do with North Korea furthering their nuclear program. The lefties love to post the picture of Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam Hussein 25 years ago. Well, I've got one better, from only a few years ago.Pic Champagne anyone?
  16. Yep, and guess what genius, law-enforcement profiles for that. It's too bad we couldn't do the same for terrorists. I guess we don't wanna hurt anyone's feelings. Oh, and this tactic has been done before. Black Dog started a thread involving a guy making a pipe bomb and equated it with the threat from Muslim terrorism. Pretty lame.
  17. As serious as a heart attack. The man responsible for his deplorable actions has resigned. He's gone. However, I'm still searching for this so-called "coverup". And Democrats aren't? I'm sure they would take issue with that statement. I agree as well. Unless of course you're a Democrat that has sex with a page who's a minor. Then you get to serve for 13 more years in Congress, and be named Chairman of a committee instead of having to resign. Talk about accountablility.
  18. Wow, it definitely must be election time, all the relevant issues are being vigorously discussed.
  19. Easy, because Democrats = quotas and big money for big government programs "designed" to help the poor and disadvantaged. If you're against quotas and big money for big government programs, you're deemed racist.
  20. Wrong mind-set. That was one of the major failures of the Clinton Administration, treating terrorism as just a law enforcement issue, when it's also a national security issue and a military issue.
  21. Exactly what military plans are you referring to?"The Sept. 11 commission, though, found no plans for an invasion of Afghanistan or for an operation to topple the Taliban" Washington Post
  22. Looks like your guy's still losing, although the Zogby poll shows a closer race. Poll: Lieberman Leads Lamont in Conn. HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) - Sen. Joe Lieberman has a 10-point advantage over Democrat Ned Lamont among likely Connecticut voters, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday AP
  23. So you're praising him for lying well? From the Washington Post today: Some of Clinton's statements on Fox have drawn scrutiny. He said that after the bombing of the USS Cole in 2000, "I had battle plans drawn to go into Afghanistan, overthrow the Taliban and launch a full-scale attack search for bin Laden. But we needed basing rights in Uzbekistan." The Sept. 11 commission, though, found no plans for an invasion of Afghanistan or for an operation to topple the Taliban, just more limited options such as plans for attacks with cruise missiles or Special Forces. And nothing in the panel's report indicated that a lack of basing rights in Uzbekistan prevented a military response. Clinton also asserted that the Bush administration "didn't have a single meeting about bin Laden for the nine months after I left office." In fact, the Bush team held several meetings on terrorism through the interagency group known as the deputies committee and one on Sept. 4, 2001, through the principals committee composed of Cabinet officers. What Clinton may have been referring to was counterterrorism chief Richard A. Clarke's frustration that the principals disregarded his urgent calls to meet sooner because of a months-long policy review. Washington Post
  24. Complete nonsense. Republicans never said there was no threat. You're either ignorant or lying.Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R-Georgia) said the following on August 20, 1998: "Well, I think the United States did exactly the right thing. We cannot allow a terrorist group to attack American embassies and do nothing. And I think we have to recognize that we are now committed to engaging this organization and breaking it apart and doing whatever we have to to suppress it, because we cannot afford to have people who think that they can kill Americans without any consequence. So this was the right thing to do." Or Senate majority leader Trent Lott, August 21, 1998: “Despite the current controversy, this Congress will vigorously support the president in full defense of America’s interests throughout the world.” Or “Our nation has taken action against very deadly terrorists opposed to the most basic principles of American freedom,” said Sen. Paul Coverdell, a Republican member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. “This action should serve as a reminder that no one is beyond the reach of American justice.” Or Dan Quayle was quoted by CNN on August 23, 1998: "I don’t have a problem with the timing. You need to focus on the act itself. It was a correct act. Bill Clinton took—made a decisive decision to hit these terrorist camps. It’s probably long overdue." Now, of course there were Republicans who had a definite problem with the timing, but how could you not? The two days he picked to bomb. The day he confessed about Monica, and the day he was impeached. Hmmm, how coincidental. LOL, he had a funny way of showing it.Bill Clinton, February 15, 2002: "Mr. bin Laden used to live in Sudan. He was expelled from Saudi Arabia in 1991, then he went to Sudan. And we'd been hearing that the Sudanese wanted America to start meeting with them again. They released him. At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America. So I pleaded with the Saudis to take him, 'cause they could have. But they thought it was a hot potato . . ." LOL, just like he had a plan for middle-class tax cuts. Never happened.
  25. I disagree with your premise, so I'm unable to vote.
