Why does Talk Radio dislike McCain?
Shady replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Nope. I listen to Rush Limbaugh from time to time, and he puts liberals who call in ahead of any callers on hold. -
Maybe they've been taking lessons from the left.Folsom Street Fair's "Last Supper" Crucifix In Urine The Holy Virgin Mary" splattered with elephant dung Then of course, you add in little incidents like 911, The Danish cartoon riots, the murder of Theo Van Gogh, Bali bombing, London bombing, Madrid bombing, Muslim girl killed by father for not wearing a head scarf, and there's bound to be a push back against Islamic radicalism, and a push forward of freedom of speech.

Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian
Shady replied to kuzadd's topic in Religion & Politics
I found the list quite funny. It's basically the stereotypes that atheists and agnostics have of religious people. What was also funny about it, was the mention of the denying existence, or the laughing or mocking of religious beliefs. In otherwords, the behavior of atheists and agnostics on a regular basis. Also the part about them having a much deeper knowledge of the Bible was pretty funny too. -
Why does Talk Radio dislike McCain?
Shady replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No. John McCain is pro-life. And no, John McCain isn't/wasn't anti-war. He criticized the strategy in Iraq and believed more troops were needed to accomplish the mission. -
I certainly believe that raising children in an Islamic environment can be abusive. Especially when they're sent out to blow themselves up in the name of Allah. However, most religion is not child abuse. Now, if we want to talk about practices being abusive to children, I'd bring up gay adoption as the biggest culprit. That to me is real child abuse. Putting politics above the best interests of children is disgusting.

Unpopular at home, Bush basks in African praise Reuters Great story! Except of course for those people suffering from BDS.

I started reading the book about a week ago. His thesis is amazing, and historically accurate. Unfortunately in this thread, some people have distorted his arguments exactly the way he wrote would be the case in the introduction. He explicitly makes the point that he's NOT saying that if you have a position on an issue in which fascists from the 20's and 30's had, it DOES NOT mean you're a fascist. It seems to me there are some liberal fascists in this thread, who have denounced ideas in a book they haven't read.

Hillary would be easier for McCain to beat. She would galvanize the Republican base in a way that McCain probably can't do on his own. Obama would pose a tougher challenge, and definitely could win the general election. However, he has failed to define himself during the primary contest, other then supporting "change". He has left himself open to be defined by the Republicans in the general election, and they will definitely oblige. Also, in a recent event, McCain has called Obama on his possible bluff about promising to run in the general election with publicly financed campaigns instead of the normal forms or raising money. Either Obama goes along with this and forgoes his excellent fund-raising apparatus, or he risks looking like an enormous hypocrite/liar about wanting to "change the system" from the status quo. It's quite a brilliant move on McCain's part. I'm kind of hoping Obama refuses. The campaign commericals would be outstanding. Anways, that just my opinion.

Bill Clinton or George W. Bush?
Shady replied to 1967100's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
To set the record straight. Clinton presided over pseudo-peace and pseudo-prosperity. His "great" economy burst as his term ended. And his "great" peace burst in 2001, from an attack being planned while he was in office. He failed to make any difficult decisions that might negatively effect his approval numbers. He coasted for 8 years, leaving the next several President's to tackle the difficult issues that face America and the world. -
Need a job? US army wants you!
Shady replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Well, considering the odds of coming home alive are astronomically in favour of that, it's a pretty decent deal. But if you'd rather not face combat, don't sign up. That's the beauty of a VOLUNTEER army. You choose. -
I thought Edwards finished a distant, distant, third. What are you talking about in terms of the numbers you cite? More then 1300 people voted. Please enlighten us.
-
No. Marc Rich, who was pardoned by Clinton was living in Europe, fleeing from American authorities. The guy was facing convictions of tax evasion, fraud and trading with Iran during the hostage crisis. He was issued a pardon because his wife gave large amounts of money to the Democratic Party and in particular Clinton's Presidential library.
-
Come'on, don't distract him. He's busy re-writing the constitution, so that he may "legally" stay in power even after his last term is finished. Gee, who didn't see that one coming?

Despite the doom and gloom predictions from the lefties.(cue scary music) Threat of Major Hurricane Strike Grows for Northeast (cue even scarier music) One in Six Americans Could be Directly Impacted by 2006 Hurricane Season And when it's all said and done... Hurricane Predictions Off Track As Tranquil Season Wafts Away More disappointing then Fitzmas!

Christian Anti-Syrian Lebanese MP Killed
Shady replied to JerrySeinfeld's topic in The Rest of the World
Israel didn't bomb the entire country. The bombing was centered around southern Lebanon. However, they did blockade the entire country. You're 1 for 2. This particular assassination is just another example of Syria's abuse of Lebanon, and it's continued treatment as a vassal state. It's quite a coincidence that the Lebanese assassinated always seem to be anti-Syrian. This is definitely grounds for war, as was the previous assassination. If Lebanon had the capabilities, I would be all for them stomping a mud hole in Bashar Assad. It would be appropriate and justified. Oh, and the ridiculous notion of "the use of force must be proportional", for lack of a better word, is retarded. So, if missiles are fired into Israel. Israel may only fire missiles back into Lebanon, or some other equivalent of proportionality? That's a recipe for an everlasting conflict, not to mention defying all logic and reason. -
Unfortunately, with the world's current social and political climate, this type of thing is bound to happen once in a while. I say, no big deal.

No, that's just you demonstrating your unseriousness. Just kidding, what a rube eh?

The only thing Iran has been quite adamant about, is the desire to destroy Israel.

The ugly hate-filled Left
Shady replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It was during the FBI raid on Kaczynski's home in which a copy of Al Gore's book was found, marked up, highlighted and underlined. He's an anti-technology, environmentalist. A pure product of the left. That's not my fault. -
Yes, I do honestly believe that Iran would use nuclear weapons against Israel.
-
Wrong. You're forgetting about the new final solution. They just have to hold out long enough for Iran to develop nuclear weapons.Ahmadinejad: Israel’s destruction near Iranian paper: Great war to wipe out Israel coming

The ugly hate-filled Left
Shady replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Bump. Ted Kaczynski (aka The Unabomber) was an environmentalist, who's manifesto was derived from Al Gore's book, "Earth In The Balance". -
Homosexuality is obviously an anomaly, but definitely not brought on my immorality and viciousness. It's just a genetic mix-up. That's all.

Elton John denounces organized religion
Shady replied to theloniusfleabag's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
How would one go about banning religion anyways? Is he advocating kicking down people's doors, to make sure they're not reading the bible, or conducting mass? Does anyone else find it ironic, that, he, a person who doesn't want what he does in the privacy of his own home to be anyone else's business, advocating a position where people's privacy would have to be violated in order to carry out his ridiculous ban. No, it doesn't make it a disease. But it does make it a genetic abnormailty, that, with future technology could be corrected. Soon homosexuality may be a thing of the past. Probably not, but it seems that they're all gay. After all, they're not preying (no pun intended) on little girls.
