Does someone have something on Palin?
Shady replied to punked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It seems like there are 2 primary reasons for her stepping down. 1) Her family has been viciously attacked by the leftwing. I think she's had enough of that for a while. And her political enemies on the left have filed a litany of false ethics violations, 16 to be exact. Of the 16, 15 have been dismissed, but as a result, the Palin's, being the only non-millionaires of the 4 people running for office last fall, have been saddled with rather large legal bills. 2) It's a great way to emerse herself in the lower 48. Study the issues with friends such as Mary Matlin, Bill Kristol and Bill Bennett. As well as campaign for Republicans in the mid-term elections. Mid-terms are always about base turnout, and she has the ability to cause tidal waves of conservative voters to the polls. She then has the choice of putting together a run for President, or holding off until 2014 for the second Alaskan senate seat, currently held by a Democrat. -
Biden: ‘We misread how bad the economy was’
Shady replied to ba1614's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
We will definitely see that Biden quote in many political ads during the summer and fall of 2010. Unemployment will probably have peaked by then, most likely around 10 - 11%. The Democrats will have much to answer for. -
Are you talking equalization payments? Cause Alberta doesn't qualify for those. However, Manitoba does. I guess we know Manitoba's secret to balancing budgets in times of recession. Receiving billions of dollars from the federal government.

Why? Yep. But I can't seem to find any of your threads denouncing them at the time. Hmmm. That's because they're bankrupt. Their fundraising is pathetic, and nobody wants to donate to them. If it wasn't for access to taxpayer dollars, they'd be non-existent. Damn, you took my answer. Or I guess, in this case, I took yours. But you're absolutely right.

Again, you are mistaken. Actually, more like lying. My joke was not about me wanting to make porn with them. Please stop posting false information. -

Thank you for posting what I actually said. Unfortunately for you, it shows you to be a liar. I said I had a story/joke, you said that I wanted to make porn with them. You're lucky I don't choose to sue you for defamation. Try and get your facts straight before you post, or next time, you may not be so lucky. -

Oh, I've met city council members, and mayors. However, I do admit that I've never met a governor. Did it ever occur to you, that she might not give a damn about a future in politics, which would make any such analysis moot. I never said that. You're either lying, or misinformed. Take your pick. Anyways, looks like the Huffington Post has issued an apology. A Post Apology I wrote a piece making fun of the fact that a Trig Palin joke was given as the reason that Sarah Palin left office. I wrote jokes that were offensive but my intent was for them to be ironic and therefore not offensive. I was wrong. I removed it immediately because I saw that it did not come across as I intended. I apologize to all of those who were offended. Huffington Post Stay classy leftwingers! -
Liberals release series of attack ads One of the ads however, suggesting Harper would put military personnel in Canadian cities, was later pulled, with the Liberal Party saying the ad had been circulated in error. The commercials are some of the most negative yet, suggesting Harper is anti-Atlantic Canada, hides an agenda similar to former Ontario premier Mike Harris and that his rise to leadership was bankrolled by rich American right-wingers. The new ads each feature unflattering close-ups of Harper's face, are accompanied by war-like drumming. "Who paid for Stephen Harper's rise to the head of the party?" asks the voice. "We don't know. He refuses to reveal his donors. What do you suppose he's hiding? We do know he's very popular with right wingers in the U.S. They have money, maybe they helped him. We just don't know. He just won't say." CTV First Nations NDP candidate demands answers over B.C. Liberal attack ad CRANBROOK, B.C. - A B.C. NDP candidate says Liberal Leader Gordon Campbell must answer for a cabinet minister's attack ad that he says targets him for being First Nations. The ad running this week in a Kootenay newspaper, says voters "want someone who pays taxes and is concerned about how that money is being spent." Beneath it is a photo of Bennett with his family and a slogan that reads, "He's one of us." Bennett said the ad was not an attack on First Nations but Sebastian said he wants the premier to provide some kind of an explanation himself. Other First Nations leaders have asked Campbell to apologize. Link Hmm, what's that saying again? Those who live in glass houses, shouldn't cast stones.

Complete nonsense. A "vacuous mouth-breather", from a modest background, with little power, doesn't work and be elected to city council. And doesn't work and be elected mayor. And doesn't work and be elected governor. Definitely not. I don't think I've ever seen a politician accused of try to increase the number of retarded people, as the leftwingers over at Huffington Post did yesterday. It's insane. And many here are apart of that crowd/ilk. -
And what's the "real" reason? Why is it that for a speeding ticket, there's a minimum amount I'll have to pay, but if I rape a 5 year old, there isn't a minimum sentence I have to serve.
-
The fact that you're defending a national seperatist party is more then a little disappointing. You say some legal experts? Wow, that's a strong argument. I can find "some" legal experts to share many different opinions. We've already tried that, and its failed miserably. Violent criminals are getting smaller and smaller sentences, thanks to the bleeding hearts of LIberals and NDP. Canadians are tired of it. No, they're using it as an example. An example in which many Canadians can relate to. You're just upset, because it's an effective ad, and once again, the Liberals have been outplayed in the political arena. Go whine and cry somewhere else.

Why don't you take your own advice, and stop the spinning? While you're doing that, please stop editing all of your posts after the fact. I've noticed a couple of things that I wanted to quote you on have magically disappeared. How convenient. Looks like somebody has their own ethics problem, except yours is real and not made up. Your sources (DailyKos), can't be described as even a little objective. And if I'm not mistaken, aren't they the same people who "broke" the story that Karl Rove was gong to be indicted by Fitzgerald. Swing and a miss. -
The hard-hitting Conservative campaign aims to highlight the fact the Bloc was the only party last April that voted against a bill imposing minimum sentences for the trafficking of children, in matters such as prostitution rings The Globe And Mail So the Bloc votes against minimum sentences for the trafficking and prostitution of children, and in Dobbin's world, the Tory's are the bad guys. Unbelievable. Unfortunately, when Dobbin is considered, it's quite believable.

Maybe you should try the same thing. Anyways, punked is just part of the same ilk that hit rock-bottom today. This was from the Huffington Post... Palin Will Run In '12 On More Retardation Platform In Sarah Palin's resignation announcement she complained about the treatment of her son Trig who always teaches her life lessons. She said that the world needs more Trigs, not fewer. That's a presidential campaign promise we can all get behind. She will be the first politician to actually try to increase the population of retarded people. To me, it's kinda like saying the world needs more cancer patients because they teach us so much. Link Is it any wonder she had a second thought about a career in national politics? Knowing that her family would be subjected to this kind of treatment. Once again, I'm sure we all know what would happen to anyone who treated Sasha and Malia in a similar fashion. And I haven't heard as much as a whisper spoken about them, even by the disgusting Hannity's and Limbaugh's of the world. -
What happens when Libs and Cons come together?
Shady replied to punked's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
No, because those are two entirely different things. There isn't an alternative police service, or alternative healthcare to provide the service. And perhaps so-called gay marriage didn't exist when those particular marriage commissioners started practicing. I don't think it's right to change the rules after the fact, as well as infringe on someone's religious beliefs at the same time. -
Does someone have something on Palin?
Shady replied to punked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You sound like a crying baby. Well, that's great if you want to know why she's resigning. But it doesn't mean you will. It could be for a thousand different reasons. Perhaps she's tired of her family be the targets of the media and vicious members of the left. Who knows. -

Quit trolling. -
I think it's quite fitting that the only success the NDP has in provincial politics, is in a province that receives federal welfare. I think it's quite appropriate.

So in your world, allowing someone to opt out of something they don't want to do, is a ban? Quit trolling. -

Yeah, somebody has something on Palin, but she's not going to resign for three or four weeks. -
See, now you've resorting to calling her names, and me names as well. You know, that's exactly the type of thing that turns Canadians off of politics.

Bush Deficits vs Obama Deficits
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Fine, include 2009. And add an additional trillion dollars on top of the $4.9 trillion Obama's already projecting. Either way, he's going to rack up more debt then all previous President's combined, and his spending and economic policies are completely irrepsonible, and absolutely disasterous. No, you're completely wrong. The bailouts are included in the current years budget. There are no bailouts projected in Obama's reckless budgets from 2010 to 2016. How about instead, you acknowledge the deficit issue, instead of a strawman. You must mean the wars Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein started. -

Again, how was the test done in a way in which only White and Hispanic firefighters would do well? How would one even go about designing such a test? -
Palin story sparks GOP family feud
Shady replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That's the first truthful thing you've said in a while. Mostly, it's Republicans that need excuses to cover from their horrible campaign strategy. -
And the Winner is Al Franken
Shady replied to punked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I have no problem with counting all legal votes, just not illegal and duplicate votes, like the kind counted for Sen. Smalley. Mr. Franken trailed Mr. Coleman by 725 votes after the initial count on election night, and 215 after the first canvass. The Democrat's strategy from the start was to manipulate the recount in a way that would discover votes that could add to his total. The Franken legal team swarmed the recount, aggressively demanding that votes that had been disqualified be added to his count, while others be denied for Mr. Coleman. But the team's real goldmine were absentee ballots, thousands of which the Franken team claimed had been mistakenly rejected. While Mr. Coleman's lawyers demanded a uniform standard for how counties should re-evaluate these rejected ballots, the Franken team ginned up an additional 1,350 absentees from Franken-leaning counties. By the time this treasure hunt ended, Mr. Franken was 312 votes up, and Mr. Coleman was left to file legal briefs. WSJ
