People thrived during the Trumpist ideology.  Low energy prices, low inflation, record rising wages, etc.  But you people couldn’t get past his personal behaviour and mean tweets.  Now people are truly suffering.  You people probably feel pretty stupid now huh?

  2. There’d be less of a nurse shortage if provinces stopped firing nurses for choosing not to get vaccinated.  But politics comes before public health.

It has always been the case and a protected right of nurses to refuse a vaccine if they choose. Doctors too. I know it personally.

Because they have the training, knowledge and PPE to work in infectious environments without vaccines. They face these hazards every day.

And lots of them have caught covid anyway. And now they'll risk giving it to patients who already have other illnesses and perhaps compromised immune systems.

Did that happen a lot during the year that vaccines didn’t exist?

  3. They better not shut down things for fully vaccinated people.
  4. Generally I agree, but protest is fine. Usually it’s Republicans and conservatives on the receiving end of it. I don’t remember people having an issue with it. When you’re an unpopular politician it’s going to happen.
  5. There’s a lot of people harassing him. People sick if paying 20 cents more per lite than necessary. Some people are annoyed that he called an election during a pandemic which was nothing more than an attempted power grab. Some people just think he’s an asshole.

You know I was thinking about that Bubber and you did the broken clock thing. You're right for your first click around the dial.

Pardon me. It's not that you're totally right but you're not wrong. I do fight like a prog. But I'm more a counter-puncher. Don't start nothin' there won't be nothin' but once you do it's on and I'll use all your dirty tricks against you.

I kind of remind myself of Candace Owens. For the longest time I didn't trust Candace Owens even though she's a conservative. She totally fights like a prog. Then I realized I do that too.

I excuse myself though and here I'll play with a metaphor to explain why.

Do you know that one about how arguing with an idiot is like wrestling a pig. You just get dirty and the pig likes it?

Well yeah...but I'm noticing too many on my side take that approach. 'Let it be and it's not worth my time.'

As a result they're getting creamed. The pigs are taking over the farm. Somebody's got to put on his overalls, jump the fence and start smacking pigs on the snout before they break the fence.

So I do and I notice there can even be my fellow farmer on the fence with a straw in his mouth thinking 'Kinda dumb, do me a favor and don't help me."

But then I look over and I see Candace Owens and the other odd freedom lover standing in the muck, in their overalls smacking prog hogs around and every once in awhile looking like they're pushing back the herd. Then I notice something else...

      Actually...the pigs don't like it.

      Good enough for me.

  12. I don’t know how long it’ll last, but watch out now.
  13. I’d like to see him order the military to re-occupy Bagram airbase. Continue evacuating there, because it’s a much more secure and defensible position. And threaten that if the Taliban or anyone else approaches the airbase, he’ll turn the country into glass.

Perhaps you'd like to tell us, General Shady, with all your years of experience in military strategy how you or your hero Trump would have done things differently. Under what scenario would desperate Afghans in their tens of thousands not have crowded around the Americans as they withdrew?

    2. Shady

      Shady

Trump already outlined how to withdraw.  Civilians and interpreters first.  Equipment second.  Troops last.  It’s not rocket science.  You start moving civilians out before August.  But General Milley is too interested in recommending books like White Fragility and wanting to understand White rage.  Hey Argus, do you want to understand White rage too?

The US government told all Americans to leave in May. They reiterated that in June and July, trying to get as many Americans as possible to leave. Most of the equipment the Taliban have now seized was the equipment the Afghan military had. As for Afghans allies, it appears almost no one realized how quickly the Afghan military would collapse.

  17. I’m against vaccine passports. But if it means that we won’t lockdown again, I’m willing to go along.
  18. So what? Vaccines are widely available. Anyone that wants one can get one. If they choose not to, which is their right, there might be consequences. That’s the way it’s suppose to work, personal responsibility. You’re a supposed conservative. You really should be championing personal responsibility. If you were actually a conservative, and not a statist authoritarian, who seeks benevolent dictators and technocrats to run our lives for us.

Shame on their government for still not procuring enough vaccines.

I wonder if she ever make a plea for her OTHER BROTHERS AND SISTERS - the Afghan allies - to have them evacuated asap - long before Kabul fell to her beloved brothers, the Taliban?

I wonder if she nagged Trudeau and Sajjan about them?  Reminding Trudeau and Sajjan that her other brothers and sisters have risked their lives for Canada?

I wonder if she reminded them what happens to sisters under her beloved brother, Taliban?

I wonder if she ever spoke on tv - addressing her brothers and sisters - who now fear for their lives - to give them moral support in this great time of uncertainty and danger?

I wonder if she ever reached out to her brothers - the Afghan interpreters, who have been in Canada - especially the ones we see on tv, calling to our government - to help their endangered families?

Was she there to be with them when our Afghan community marched to plead for help for their families left in Afghanistan?

I agree with this analysis:  SULTANI: Shame on Monsef for calling Taliban 'our brothers' | Toronto Sun

      She should resign.

To call someone “brother” in Afghan culture is to recognize a mutual deep respect for them. It’s an endearing term to recognize a male friend as more than a friend, someone you’d take a bullet for. It is to validate the essence of that person and acknowledge the principles by which they live. The people of Afghanistan do not call the Taliban their “brothers” unless it is the Taliban themselves.

  24. What a difference.
