Everyone reads the Star?
-
Yeah because Urine and Ultimate players block out the sun like rows of tents and Yurts.
-
It's $60,000 to re-sod the park so . . . yes.
-
at $60,000 being minimal.
-
Brings what on himself. BTW this is what David Miller looked like when he was first elected. http://media.thestar.topscms.com/images/36/f2/8e360c63414da1de7240878b2173.jpeg I'm going to guess the star didn't publish unflattering pics of him.
-
I think the main reason for this was that the city was repeatedly saying this protest was ruining the park and the protesters went to court to try and stay there.
-
Well it doesn't garner media attention. There was that story of the WW1 monument that was vandalized. Or the poppy thief. Vandalism and petty theft are common place. But considering these events happened near Remembrance Day they made the news.
-
Even Sue Ann Levy, who was pretty much black balled by Chairman Miller said on the radio today that Ford should release these press releases. Again if he's forced to do it by the integrity commissioner, I'm sure he will. He said on Oakley this morning that it's an issue of like 5 press releases and it's not like the Star doesn't have access to these reports. they're available to the public. But God Damn The Star is being just as petty about how they cover him. This is the pic they use today regarding the story http://media.thestar.topscms.com/images/d2/a2/0503d2c84bdc86c8097f372e761f.jpg

I think Problem Gambling is like Alcoholism an addiction of the weak-willed person and not so much a disease. I have no evidence to support this opinion, it's just an opinion. But this story is total crap. http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Problem+gamblers+over+jackpots/5800895/story.html So if they let the guy in then all his transactions in the casino should be null and void. He should be able to go to the door after he loses and say I want all the money I just lost back. I bet if he was a known cheater he'd never be let in.
-
So opinion pieces you agree with: Good Journalism. Opinion pieces you disagree with: Propaganda.
-
This story annoys me. They should be happy they still have a job but now they're being petulant babies and not doing their job because they think they are over-worked.
-
I'm a poor 99 percenter. I don't have deep pockets like OPSEU.
-
I meant that people on the left don't like generalizations like, say, all people on welfare are cheating the system etc. Or my favourite, the French are mostly whiny bitches. Legal gun owners don't pose are great public safety threat.
-
If I was raging against the 1% I might.
-
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/toronto/toronto-city-council-debates-motion-that-would-undo-gun-range-ban/article2256699/ It's these type of generalizations that people on the left usually rage against. Gun crime in the city are overwhelmingly caused by illegal gun owners and even those murders are down. It's an unneeded piece of legislation that's public safety implications are negligible. Also apparently the City loses out on some money because they wouldn't allow the Sportsman Show that happens March Break at the CNE grounds because they sell firearms at that event.
-
Probably, but it's an unneeded drop in the bucket. If I went to a public park and started pouring bleach on the grass would the City just eat the cost or send me a bill?
-
You don't seem to me as the type of guy to mock Hipsters Shwa. OPSEU should kick in some cash since they're the ones who donated the Yurts.
-
$20,000-$60,000 to repair the damage done to the park by the Occupiers. Paid by the Toronto taxpayers of course. Guess the Ford's will have to close another pool. Good job!
-
With the amount of violence olp1fan is advocating about and how dismissive he is of the problems Bullies pose. I suspect even if he won't admit it, that he bullied people.
-
I think this is a pretty harsh rebuke of how the TTC is run. http://www.thestar.com/news/transportation/article/1094531--ttc-may-not-run-the-eglinton-crosstown-lrt?bn=1 Can't blame this one on Ford. This is provincial organization that wants nothing to do with the TTC even thought the rail system will be for Toronto.
-
I don't think this is an issue of Freedom of Speech. I'm sure you don't like what he's doing. But really has he done anything you've liked? I guess we'll see how the Integrity commissioner rules. I suspect he might be forced to give them press releases. As if they couldn't get them on their own, aren't they posted on the city's website? But no one can force him to deal with them directly if he doesn't want to.
-
They still published the article without going to the only source that matters: The guy he supposedly assaulted. That's the kind of journalism you see for a trashy gotcha tabloid. Someone said something about someone so we'll go to press with it because we don't like the guy.

Here's a better source. http://www.torontolife.com/daily/informer/mayor-may-not/2010/07/28/allegations-that-rob-ford-struck-a-student-are-total-bunk/

I'm sure even you'll admit they go much further than that. (Unflattering pics, publishing Heather Mallick columns about him, hounding him at his cottage during Gay Pride Week etc.) BTW regarding the football player story in question. The Global and Mail actually did some real journalism and interviewed the kid and he denied the Star report. http://www.daylife.com/article/048kdpw6VReOl Apparently you need to subscribe to the Globe to get the full story. Why should Rob Ford go to court and spend money out of his own pocket to prove his innocence when he can easily shut them out. It's not like anyone believes he did what the Star accused him of. I'm sure if the integrity commissioner says he has to pass on press releases to the Star I'm sure he will do the minimum required of him.
