  1. You gotta review earlier pages in this thread for a discussion on this. I believe It's some statistic invented on this site called Footballoutsiders.com that takes into account the ranking of the defenses the QB has played into the equation. Tebow isn't a rookie, he started a few games last year with similar results as he's had this year. I've heard pundits say Gabbert isn't a great QB. Ponder is decent. Both the Jags and the Vikes have interesting decisions to make because they will finish at the bottom of the league again this year and could find themselves needing another QB if they don't deem the one they just drafted a QB for the future. The Broncos don't have that luxury. If they win the AFC West they can pick no sooner than 26. I believe. Then again look at how Alex Smith has matured.
  2. Both Dalton and Newton have probably had better years but Tebow is polarizing. But haven't won at similar rates. I do hope the Bengals make the playoffs because the Jets are worse than Satan.
  3. Does a website like this make your head explode Monty? http://www.thechristianleft.org/
  4. Really? So the Salvation Army, World Vision, Mennonite Central Committee, The Red Cross, the Red Crescent etc etc etc. are all Left Wing Organizations and not religious ones? The left wants the government to do the job, it doesn't do the job itself. Also Left Wing Heroes like Tommy Douglas must have been Right-wing since he believed in God.
  5. I 100% agree but I'm really tempted to jump into the smartphone game. Keeping up with the Jones's and such. Unless you require it for your work, paying $25+ to access up a gig of information on a mobile phone is offensive. Do you really need to check facebook when you're out with friends.
  6. I'm breaking my boycott for a brief moment. Do you own or aspire to own an Apple Computer, or any Apple related products?
  7. I'm sure he could attribute that to Christianity having less influence in American Society than it did decades ago. Of course he would provide no evidence for that and it would totally contradict what he had posted earlier.
  8. Getting embarrassed by the horrible Bills is unforgivable. Looks like he cared more about what Christmas Eve Service he was going to go to in Western New York than he was football.
  9. Saying Christianity is poising society sounds rather hateful if you ask me.
  10. This had turned into just another Christian hater thread I see. Lumping all Christians in the same category as the politically motivated Moral Majority Conservatives in the US is equally as ignorant as saying that all violent offenders are beyond rehabilitation. Christian doctrine calls for forgiveness and pacifism if you haven't noticed.
  11. Well clearly you've read this thread incorrectly then. I'm not saying that we should adopt a US system. I'm not even saying the American justice system is good. We're discussing a case in Ontario of a 15 year old that was tried and convicted as an adult for first degree murder and I was curious if people thought that the denial of her request to stay in a youth facility past the age of 20 was good or bad. Ontario is the same province that has given Paul Bernardo a sentence of life in prison with no chance of parole. Are you say that in order to debate this issue with you, I'd have to concede that someone like Paul Bernardo is a victim or our society and should be rehabilitated? Is the treatment of Bernardo your idea of "American Justice"? What about a nation like Norway? Should it treat Andreas Brevik as someone who should be rehabilitated?
  12. So if I don't acknowledge that society is to blame for violent criminal behaviour then you refuse to engage in any discussion about what exactly rehabilitation as opposed to say punishment for a crime. Excellent way to debate.
  13. Hold on a second. America's problem is their treatment of drug crime. People with simple possession of pot have to do hard time. What we're talking about here is violent crime, specifically murder; cold calculated murder. How can you oppose the suspension of freedom for significant number of years, if not life in cases like this?
  14. Ok so I'll put you down as being a bleeding heart that has a problem with what's happened here. Just out of curiosity, what do you think is proper punishment for First-degree murder?
  15. So they're protesting this in Quebec. Why is this really that big a deal? I know if the Leafs hired a uni-lingual francophone there might be a problem but Leafs fans are overwhelmingly English speaking. English is the language that binds the nation, not french. I've been to Montreal, it's a fairly English-friendly place. The truth is Quebec is an island North America as a French province. The Habs are severely limiting potential coaches if speaking french is a requirement for the job.
  16. Had she been tried as a youth she could serve no more than 10 years and her name would never be allowed to be published. Currently she can't apply for parole for 7 years. Not great, but not bad, depending on if she's given parole first shot. I have no numbers to back up the likelihood of someone convicted of First-Degree Murder being let go the first time they apply for parole.
  17. Sorta like Newspaper Headline writers.
  18. Well it's in the news again because there was a sentiment that her behaviour since being sentenced indicates that moving to an adult facility would be a bad thing for her. The judge denied that yesterday. I was curious if people actually thought keeping her out of an adult facility was a good idea?
  19. I guess I assumed the details of this case were common knowledge. Here's a story from when she was sentenced. http://www.thestar.com/Crime/article/672888 No question this was pre-meditated and not just a crime of passion, based on the evidence. She had never met the girl but stalked her online and pressured her boyfriend into doing the deed.
  20. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/toronto/judge-denies-todorovics-plea-to-stay-in-youth-prison/article2281066/ Happy Birthday Melissa! Now instead of being the oldest person in a youth centre you go to being a power bottom in a real prison. This is a horrific crime and the fact that she convinced her boyfriend to do the dirty work proves she's a sociopath.
  21. So your take is that as long as there are poor in the world, regardless of what you do to help the poor you are a bad person if you thank God for, what others would deem trivial successes. Now I know you rage against all things Christian but Jesus acknowledges that the poor will always be with us. If olp1fan was there he'd probably think the woman with an alabaster flask is a bad person. Because she wasted money on trivial praise.
  22. You're an ignorant fool. Do you think Tebow's only act is to Thank God in Post game interviews? And do you think he started the Tebowing craze on purpose? Regarding starving people in the world he's spent much of his free time doing service for the poor in the Philippines, in fact he was actually born there. http://www.btea.org/index.asp His dad founded an orphanage there. But yeah because he wants to tell people about Jesus he's a scumbag eh? The Tebow's have done more to make this world a better place than you'll ever do.
  23. Tebow makes a name for himself because he's a talented football player. Say what you will about his skill set to be a pro QB, he's won at every single level he's played at. Won the Heisman, won two NCAA national titles, and in the face of constant critiques about him he's gone 7-2 this season on a team that went 1-4 before he started for them. The fact that he's an outspoken Christian is just an added feature. Thanking God for your performance is nothing new to people of faith, people do it all the time. If you're a Christian you should thank God for your blessings. But that's besides the point. He's done nothing but walk the walk, and people hate him for that. He's not a hypocrite like say Evander Hollyfield (Boxer) who was an outspoken Christian but fathered kids with different parents. His faith has made him popular by the Christian community and it's made him reviled by the likes of you that ignorantly think that people motivated by faith can do no good in this world.
  24. What's there to like about people that think sex is icky?
