  1. None of the Obama protesting was this bad and widespread. I don't think he has the guts to order the US Military to go into US cities and start cracking heads.
  2. Perhaps you should educate yourself with Red-lining and how it created a level of privilege and way for white people to accumulate wealth and banned POC from benefitting from Real Estate and Land ownership. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/r/redlining.asp For centuries, white people have had a huge head start. My parents are immigrants and have worked very hard to achieve what they have. But to ignore that they had an upper hand because of things that preceded them is willful ignorance. Nope, but were those murders racial motivated? And where those murders seen as excusable? Poor Micheal Flynn, he was making deals regarding sanctions before Trump even took office and got caught. Apparently, that's illegal. Then don't go around saying that Cops treat white people the same. You just ignore the fear POC have when dealing with police. That was a huge story. Spoke to how poorly some police are at deescalating situations. Not when the murders are what caused the riots. Ahhh so you're still holding out hope that George Floyd did something to deserved what happened to him. That's very telling. The video in question was 9 minutes un-edited. This is actually what bugs me about the Conservative response to all this. They always deserve what happened to them. They must have been completely agreeable to what a cop wanted, if not he deserved to die. HE WAS UNARMED AND CONTROLLED. As mentioned in another thread, this is just the inciting incident. Obviously The US has reached the breaking point. IMHO the Breonna Taylor murder is even more troubling. She was in her own home! Ahhh poor cops with guns got water thrown on them. I guess they should be given a cookie for not resorting to murder.
  3. You can shrug this off as media hype if there were isolated protests and riots. They were protesting in Salt Lake City!!!! Dozens of cities participated. The media can't create a narrative about an obvious murder by cop caught on video. The reaction to these murders seem to be gaining traction. Revolutions are larger than the inciting incident. WW1 wasn't really about Franz Ferdinand.
  4. Took a few days. And the other cops that cared more about people filming than their co-worker committing murder are still free. I'm not going to speak to the outrage the POC feels to this. I've never feared for my life when seeing a cop. These fears are certainly based on experience many POC have. And politely protesting doesn't seem to ever stop it. So I can understand the outrage.
  5. I think we should start re-opening. I readily concede that the narrative on why this was done has kind of lost the plot. This was about protecting healthcare, not creating a bubble around the population. We're not going to eliminate this virus by staying at home. But we've bought ourselves some time and now we understand how to treat it better. I do think most people are keenly aware that they should be keeping distance and maintaining good hygiene while in public. Most places have started to re-open. I think where we'll continue to have problems are with industries that involve large gatherings. (Gyms, Restaurants, Concerts, Festivals, Sports). Those things are going to take awhile to get back to "normal".
  6. Well he was charged with 2nd Degree murder. The George Floyd killer wasn't even charged with 2nd Degree Murder. BTW, I remember this was news. It speaks to the same problem.
  7. The age issues are irrelevant when a healthcare system is overwhelmed. People of all ages and health concerns then die from otherwise preventable causes.
  8. This analysis ignores what happened in places where the virus did get a solid foothold and caused deaths from the virus to overwhelm healthcare systems and skyrocket death figures, forcing them to shut down anyway. Societies didn't do this for shits and giggle. As I've repeatedly said, people who are looking at numbers now as evidence these actions weren't required are simply playing this results. Had healthcare systems collapsed because we valued service sector industries over lives, then we may be having a far different discussion right now.
  9. A day after stoking emotions by dropping a "When they Loot, we start to Shoot" Tweet this pussy hides in a bunker on Friday night. Brash and Bluster that signifies absolutely NOTHING!!!
  10. This narrative that white people are killed at a higher percentage is a red herring. Even if it was relevant, it should just bolster the idea that Cops are just trigger happy thugs and their authority needs to be checked. I think when Whitey, in all his/her privilege says that a POC's fear when they encounter police is statistically unfounded, they're not being helpful. We have two incidents of outright murder of POCs at the hands of police. (George Floyd and Breonna Taylor) Show the example of an innocent white person being murdered by the police that somehow minimizes the outrage of such events. The other narrative that isn't helpful is talking about property. The Spike Lee movie Do the Right Thing is a litmus test on Racism. SPOILER ALERT!!!! Do you find the murder of Radio Raheem more upsetting or the destruction of the Pizza Parlour? The riots that ensued when Radio Raheem gets murder often is what is more unsettling about the end of that movie and it shows that often white people consider private property more important than the lives of POCs. Why are Right-Wing talking heads more outraged that a Target got looted than a man getting choked out over 9 minutes or a front-line worker getting murdered in her own home?
  11. But this is why all the media bias stuff doesn't really hold a lot of water. Most of it is just a reaction to what Trump says or Tweets. He purposely tries to be provocative. Some people love it, some people hate it. That's his goal, he's not the type of politican that wants to unite people.
  12. I'm sure you can go to any public park and find White people not Social distancing.
  13. Even if there was a mitigating circumstance, the suspect was detained and pleading for his life. It takes some sick person not to get your knee off his neck. Just like with the girl in Central Park. Who cares what the man said to her, she accused him of threatening violence, which he wasn't.
  14. Did you follow up and see what happened to the cop? I do think this is an overall police problem. Their culture breeds an attitude of respect my authoritah!!!!!
  15. No one stopped him from protesting. But he certainly was blackballed for it. I like how white people set the rules for what is acceptable protest. Kneeling during the anthem. HERASY!!!! bringing guns to public places and threatening people because you can't get a haircut. First amendment!
  16. What about what was seen in the video that was seen was defendable? That's just how they're trained? These riots have happened because a minority can be arrested for simple crimes but tough guy cop crushes a man's neck for an alleged non-violent crime and he's still not been charged. Here's an example of the inherent racism that police have. https://www.politico.com/states/new-york/albany/story/2020/05/08/black-and-latino-new-yorkers-get-vast-majority-of-social-distancing-summonses-1283223
  17. That, or cops can stop murdering minorities. I posted a video earlier in this thread of this Karen that refused to accept an $80 ticket. She even drove off and had to be chased down. The cop forced her out of the car and tazed her. Imagine if that person was black. They'd have been shot the moment they refused to leave their car.
  18. I wonder if 45's next move is to call Minnesota a Shithole? I like how Twitter trolls him now by calling out him inciting violence.
  19. And immunization isn't even considered a top consideration for infant mortality https://www.cdc.gov/reproductivehealth/maternalinfanthealth/infantmortality.htm
  20. Cite the death rate of any vaccine. Actually better yet, cite the death rate of any vaccine vs the death rate of Measles, Mumps, Rubella or Polio. Anti-Vaxxers really bug me.
  21. Are you peddling an Anti-Vaxxer narrative? Do you get your kids vaccinated. This is why Vaccines generally take a long time to develop. Because you need to test, test and test again.
  22. A Vaccine would actually prevent people from getting it. At best, HDQ would help recovery once your sick enough to be hospitalized. And tests have shown it's not great at that.
  23. The people who actually focused on Science knew the threat it posed. DoFo is making his policy decisions based public health advice and not fear and emotions. It's so convenient that you can play the result that the Social Distancing actually did work and accuse everyone of being weak because it worked.
  24. I suspect she's probably left-leaning. Being a Dog person from New York. Apparently she's also Canadian. It's this phenomena of Karens that think anyone infringing on their outright freedom to do whatever they want, is a threat.
