Those are rising cases. Just not exponentially rising. 500-1000 cases a day is "rising". Those are worse figures than seen in Ontario.

Well many places are re-opening. I just saw a report on the "hated" CNN that said that though rates have increased in Georgia, it's certainly not a crisis level seen in places like Spain, Italy and New York City. They've been open for a month. It was predictable that infection rates would go down during the summer. I guess the concern is moving into next year's flu season.

I don't usually rage against the media but the narrative of only focusing on new cases and testing is absolutely insane. The metric should be on hospitalizations and deaths. When 2/3 of all cases are now resolved it's tough to consider a daily case count of 400-500 as exponential. Yet Hospitalizations and deaths are creeping down. The media also points out that the testing capacity is 20,000 and they often only test around 10,000 or so each day. Well who are they testing? DoFo had to say yesterday that anyone can just go to a testing facility and get tested for Shits and Giggles. I'd consider it if the test wasn't a swab to the brain.

It doesn't seem this current allegation against Biden is getting much traction. There was a time when any allegation meant you had to go. I think that phase has passed. And people who think any allegation should result in immediate removal from whatever office you have or aspire to are being somewhat marginalized. How can that be accurately gauged without broad testing? You have to assume a level of asymptomatic cases AND cases that were dismissed because people thought they just had the flu.

I will say that the virtue signalling of social distancing is getting irksome. You have to wear a mask everywhere! you can't see anyone that's not in your household! I can see why people feel the need to rage against it. Like with anything there's two extremes. People who think wearing a mask is weak and that Social distancing is communism and people who still refuse to leave their homes for anything social and wear masks everywhere (even outside). Now public figures are being criticized for not wearing a mask. It's the new thing you pretty much need to do. I think it's more an issue in the US, no one will force you to wear a mask in Canada. . . yet. But I thought I'd play ball and wear one at the grocery store yesterday. But no way in hell am I wearing a mask when I'm outside on a walk!

Another aside. I think when/if Gyms ever come back, I won't continue with my membership. 1) I have a baby now. 2) I won't put up with any level of Social distancing measures at the Gym. It's already crowded and you have to be close to people. I'm not paying full freight to wait outside for someone to leave like I have to at Costco. And if I have to register online, good luck ever getting a time after work. I'll try my hand at working out at home.

I'm shocked member BC2004 didn't jump all over this. I guess it's notable that the scene here was jarring enough to most people that this instance wasn't the norm. As an aside. I went to a regional park on the weekend. They had a cool social distance work around. For access you need to reserve a time online so that the part doesn't get overwhelmed. My wife and I actually decided a membership would be suitable for this summer may be a write off for a lot of outdoor gatherings.

Just like with Trump, the remedy is impeachment and removal. It seems clear had Trump not been POTUS, he'd have been indicted in the Micheal Cohen case. But since he's POTUS he got to skate. Had his crimes been deemed too severe congress can impeach and remove him. If Biden appoints tries to appoint a different Veep than the one that he got elected with, Impeachment would be the solution.
